• SCOTUS Nomination: Fair process and Fair-minded Justice
We've already been sweating through decision after decision coming from the past several Supreme Court sessions with as many defeats as victories. The key vote in 5-4 decision after 5-4 decision has been Justice Anthony Kennedy and while his votes haven't always been what progressives wanted, he has also helped the progressive position through key decisions as well. This tenuous balance is in danger now. Justice Kennedy has announced his retirement and Trump is already licking his lips at another chance to moved the court to the right. What to do? Of course, we will speak up about justice, we will work hard on the upcoming elections to get balance in Washington by taking back power from Trump's Republican allies, and we will settle in to the long battle for sanity that must be waged for the progress.

  • No SCOTUS Nomination Until After 2018 Midterm Elections
I was infuriated by Mitch McConnell blocking President Obama's Supreme Court nomination and we must insist he follow the same standard now to fill the seat left vacant with the resignation of Justice Anthony Kennedy. A conservative nominee like Brett Kavanaugh is a threat to reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, and Americans' right to health care. It is more imperative because this president and his campaign staff are under investigation for foreign collusion with Russia. Until these investigations are complete, Trump should not have a say about the next lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

  • No Closed Door Meeting - Trump / Putin
No president, in particularly Trump, should be negotiating policies behind closed doors! Demand all meetings include a bipartisan committee. Trump has never released his income tax returns - no one knows what interests he may have in Russia. The Trump campaign is still under investigation - Russia's role in the past election. No one knows what occurred during the Trump / Kim Jung-un meeting? Demand Transparency!

  • Remove and Replace Rick Miller as City Manager
Rick Miller has repeatedly lied to the city council and the citizens of Coolidge in regards to the tax status of the Coolidge Performing Arts and Artisan Village 501C3. Rick Miller has a conflict of interest being city manager and being on the board of a group that large amounts of city money was given but not accounted for. Rick Miller has repeatedly engaged in behavior that has been detrimental to the public’s view of the city as well as helping to cause a divisive rift within the community that he was hired to build up. We demand that the Coolidge City Council take immediate action to replace Rick Miller as city manager.

  • Tina Smith and Richard Painter: Democratic Voters Want a Public Debate to decide who should fill ...
The Minnesota primary election will be held on August 14th. Democratic voters will need to choose the strongest candidate to place on the ballot for the critical election in November. Tina Smith, former lieutenant governor of Minnesota and appointed by Governor Dayton to temporarily fill the US Senate seat vacated by Al Franken; or Richard Painter, currently a law professor at the University of Minnesota and former chief White House ethics lawyer. Minnesotans need to know more about these two candidates. Holding a public debate is the best way for voters to compare Tina Smith and Richard Painter and make an informed decision before they cast their vote on August 14th!

  • Show Us Your Taxes
A bill was introduced and passed both California Houses that required any candidate running for President to provide five years income tax filings. Every candidate since Nixon has voluntarily provided this transparency to voters. Although vetoed by Governor Brown, this initiative should be attempted again under the next California Governor.

  • Ask Kevin McCarthy for a Townhall meeting
It has been difficult to ask questions in this community with issues that are current in congress. Replies are usually given through emails with generic answers. Local staffers simply tell people they have to send an email....

I chair a non-profit that promotes the will of the people over the power of money. Democracy vouchers lessen the impact of big contributions and encourage candidates to look to all citizens.
