The ridiculous profits realized by those who have monopolized the sources of information that would allow for informed consent of our countries governance has led us to a crisis not unlike our healthcare situation. They profit from misinformation and conspire against the citizenry for profits with total disregard for the responsibilities that were once implied by a license to use public airwaves.

I was a healthy twenty six year old with a young family, no debt, a college degree and about to buy our first house. Then one day in December 2016 I went to work not knowing it would never be the same as that morning again. I worked at a horse stable and I had to lift a bag of shavings off the pallet of shavings into my wheelbarrow. It fell, I stupidly caught it and it immediately pulled me with it. All I felt was a pop and pain from the center of my spine down into my foot. Needless to say, everything was no longer how it was. My work had insurance but they still to this day have not given much treatment as they deny almost everything or delay my Physical Therapy which happens all the time even with a lawyer involved. The disability checks are very minimal and my husband at first had to help me so much all the time he missed work. We ran out of money and almost went homeless right before we finally received a HUD apartment. All this being said, I have racked up a ton of debt paying for food, gas, medical equipment/assistive devices because they again fight me on everything. I do receive SNAP, it is $32 a month because I have been forced into HUD housing and it counts against you when you have SNAP. For someone like me, my credit cards became the only way to afford food, but they all have a limit. Unfortunately SNAP will NOT include this an expense and if it did I could buy enough groceries for an entire month for my family. This situation I am in is not new anymore and the federal government needs to step up and help those who really don’t have any other options. Everyone should have enough food for their children and not be panicking all the time about food. Please stand up for those of us that did everything right and still ended up where no one wants to be.

1. No tenure no pension. Members of Congress only are paid while serving. 2. Congress participates in Social Security. All funds in the congressional retirement fund be transferred to the Social Security system. All future retirement funds flow into the social security system and congress participates with all other citizens. Social Security may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement and health plans until we are all covered by the same plan. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. It will be tied to CPI, SS, and minimum wage. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the rest of the citizens of our country. 6. Congress must abide by the same laws as the rest of the citizens. 7. All contracts with past and present congressional representatives will become void on 12/31/19.

Steve King is a bigot. Has had a Confederate flag on his desk and often retweets Klansmen and other racists who don't represent the values of northwest Iowa., and the owners of Wells Blue Bunny ice cream keep dominating to Steve King which tells me the Wells' are content with King's bigotry and racism. Tell the Wells to stop supporting bigotry.

California is not only the most populated state in the US, but is also the 5th largest economy in the entire world. There is no reason we, as Californians, should continue to be deprived of our right to have each of our votes count as one vote— equal in every way to anyone else’s in the nation. We are not asking for our votes to be worth more, but we will not continue to tolerate being deprived of our full voting rights. We want California lawmakers to come up with a plan (divestment, taxes, incentives, tariffs) to exert our influence as a global population and economic power house to demand that in upcoming elections our voices will be heard.

53,000 eligible Georgia voters may have their rights taken away -- we need to speak out now. Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp -- who is running for Governor this year -- has crafted yet another partisan voter suppression scheme meant to disenfranchise Black voters in Georgia. He’s already pushed to close rural polling places, and purged legitimate voters from the rolls. Now, he’s blocking 53,000 new voter registrations from being processed, which means robbing 53,000 mostly Black Georgians of their right to vote in the midterm elections . Under Kemp’s needlessly strict “exact match” rule (which most states don’t use), if someone moves or gets married and changes their name, their entire registration can be thrown out. These Georgians followed the rules to do their civic duty -- and Kemp is STILL trying to prevent them from exercising their constitutional right to vote. The right to vote and make our voices heard is fundamental to our democracy. Every eligible voter should have a say in the people and policies that determine the future for their families, community, and country. We’ve already seen how widespread outrage and activism can make real change in Georgia -- like when our efforts forced the local board of elections to keep each and every polling place in Randolph County open, despite threat of shutdowns. Now, we need a nationwide outcry to tell Brian Kemp -- stop suppressing votes, and let every eligible voter have their say.

I’m a resident of Texas. I vote in every election that I’m able. I’d like to see Ted Cruz meet Beto O’Rourke in this format. I feel it would be an open, honest exchange and I’m betting that I’m not the only one.

Our Government is moving the country in the wrong direction by dividing us and destroying the moral values that our country stands for. Please go and vote in the midterm election for those who are ready to do all that is needed to reverse the direction and restore our great American values forever.

Representative Mary Dye, You stated in a KONA radio interview recently that you would divert tax revenue from the sale of legal cannabis to increase law enforcement budgets because you believe there is an increase in crime since that necessitates it. However, since cannabis has become legal in the State of Washington, there is no evidence to support the claim that the industry has contributed to an increase in crime. In fact, many cities, such as the city of Kennewick, report crime is down, and Benton County (where Kennewick is located) cannot point to any extra enforcement actions as a result of legalization. The will of the voters when i502 passed was clear. The revenue from cannabis taxes was intended to be used on education, healthcare, research, and substance abuse prevention, not law enforcement. Even if increased crime as a result of legalization was an issue of concern, the War on Drugs is a waste of taxpayer resources and has wreaked havoc in our communities worse than the drugs themselves. Therefore, we petition you to not divert any cannabis tax revenue to law enforcement and request that you consider earmarking the revenue for its original purpose rather than lump it into the general fund as the Legislature has done.

Everyone in this country is affected by this issue! Can we really trust Kavanaugh to sit on the Supreme Court? Having the findings of the investigation open to the public would help us to deal with our fears.
