• Congress and USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue: Save the Kittens from Secret USDA Procedure that Kills...
When I was born over sixty years ago, I came into a home with a kitty in it. I have been a cat lover ever since. Kitties deserve to be adored, not horribly abused in secret procedures which end in their deaths. https://www.whitecoatwaste.org/kittens/ There are modern techniques that can be substituted to end this atrocity. Legislation has been introduced in Congress which can end this inhumane abuse of cats and kittens: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/hr5780 However, this bill only has a 2% chance of enactment without a TON of support from an outraged public! Thanks to all who have signed my petition so far! And keep on loving the kitties! UPDATE: I just found out that these barbarically abused kittens are killed at 11 weeks old by: I N C I N E R A T I N G T H E M A L I V E ! ! ! Only the most sadistic monsters could possibly work in a place that does this. The link to the site where I found this is: https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/USDA-Lab-in-Beltsville-Accused-of-Killing-Kittens-After-Testing--482079841.html I am sickened all over again by this! THESE SADISTS MUST BE STOPPED! I ask anyone who has signed or is signing my petition now to tell others about this horror and urge them to sign it, too. This petition needs to go VIRAL! Again, thanks to all who have signed already. And always love the kitties!

I am an educational therapist, shocked by the decisions the Trump administration has made that harm children. I work with traumatized and learning disabled children every day, and I can't sit by and watch this happen.

In addition to the fate of Women's Reproductive Rights, the appointment of the next Associate Justice to the Supreme Court will impact this country in other ways for generations to come. Evidence is mounting that our current President and his associates colluded with this nation's enemies to rig this country's 2016 Presidential Election. It seems more likely each day that the continued existence of our Democracy may depend on decisions made by the U.S.Supreme Court. The Justices may well be asked to rule on the constitutionality of : a) Requiring a sitting President to appear before a Grand Jury when subpoenaed; b) A President pardoning him/herself or his/her co-conspirators in an act of espionage c) Indicting a sitting President. We must use every resource within our power to ensure that the next Associate Justice is a person of character and not a potential co-conspirator. Sens. Murkowski and Collins hold the power ensure that and we must force them to use it.

  • Trump should not be allowed to meet “off the record” with Putin
I do not trust that Trump will not do whatever he thinks he needs to do to win the mid-terms, including conspiring with Russia to interfere. Until his innocence is demonstrated, he must not be allowed to meet alone and off the record with Putin.

  • Make Juneteenth A State and Federal Holiday June 19
Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is a day that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans throughout the former Confederacy of the southern United States. Its name is a portmanteau of "June" and "nineteenth", the date of its celebration. The news of General Robert E. Lee's surrender on April 9 moved slowly and did not reach Texas until May 1865. The Army of the Trans-Mississippi did not surrender until June 2. On June 18, Union Army General Gordon Granger arrived at Galveston Island with 2,000 federal troops to occupy Texas on behalf of the federal government. The following day, standing on the balcony of Galveston's Ashton Villa, Granger read aloud the contents of "General Order No. 3", announcing the total emancipation of those held as slaves: By the 1950s and 1960s, the Civil Rights Movement focused the attention of African-American youth on the struggle for racial equality and the future, but many linked these struggles to the historical struggles of their ancestors. Following the 1968 Poor People's Campaign to Washington D.C. called by Rev. Ralph Abernathy, many attendees returned home and initiated Juneteenth celebrations in areas where the day was not previously celebrated. Since the 1980s and 1990s, the holiday has been more widely celebrated among African-American communities. This should be a national holiday.

  • Fact check BEFORE Presidential debates, not after.
Our democracy requires citizens to evaluate candidates and then vote. Citizens deserve to evaluate a presidential debate that is based on verifiable facts rather than spin, misinformation, or outright lies. Candidates should not get to score cheap debating points or audience applause lines based on untrue statements.

  • Tell Congressman Jeff Denham #No Vote
This petition is to delay an appointment of a Supreme Court Justice to replace Justice Kennedy until after the November general election. The people must be able to vote for the candidate who best represents the majority. The wrong Justice could mean an end to Roe v Wade, LGBQT and immigrant rights and healthcare. In addition there will be an increase in more harsher and unequal laws on criminal justice sentencing and voting rights.

  • March for Voter Justice
After the stunning success of Moveon in organizing the June 30th march for refugee children, we should broaden the non-partisan action with a march on August 30th to include civic justice in general: ending vote suppression, anti-majority vote rigging. and gerrymandering, For coming elections to be fair, registration and voting must be unfettered, votes must be counted correctly, and and allocation of representation must in line with votes. This is necessary to control our government to get justice for all.
