Tennessee has become a conservative echo chamber where only the worst ideas are heard. As a lifetime citizen of this state which is one of the poorest, least educated and most corrupt states in the union, I have had my life rocked by the scandals of corrupt local and state government and I have had friends and family whose lives have been turned upside down by ludicrous political grandstanding of the republican party. Don't forget, as many in Washington have, that you represent in your office the whole of tennessee, not just the few who voted for you. You represent the old the young the sick the tired and those whose hand cannot reach the ballot for legal or functional reasons. If you have any decency. If you are a man of principle or even a man at all. If you believe as you claim then you should have the intestinal fortitude to stand and face the judgment of your constituency.

In 2000 and again in 2016, the person the people chose to be president by overwhelming majorities in the popular vote, did not become president. Efforts to communicate via phone, email and regular mail have resulted in backlogs and no responses back from our Senators. A "town hall meeting" or other public forum would be an excellent opportunity for constituents to voice concerns, and then hear about Senator's plans to address those concerns.

I, as well as many other Alaskans, have questions and concerns about the policies and goals of the new administration. Many of us have been reaching out to our representatives through phone, email, and snail mail, but a face-to-face meeting would be so much more meaningful. There is a sense of urgency right now when there is so much uncertainty about our future. We are relying on our members of congress to listen to our concerns and represent us authentically.
