Over the last 3 weeks, almost 100 of us have visited Senator Blumenthal's Hartford office to ask that he take more aggressive action to protect all of us from the egregious agenda of this administration. We asked last week for a Community Meeting. Across the country Senators are setting these up now that Congress is on break during the week of February 20. His office committed to get back to us within a few days but so far Sen. Blumenthal has declined to set a date. It's time!

Ann Wagner has not held a town hall or met in a public forum with her constituents. It is her responsibility to represent all her constituents, which means engaging in an honest and open dialogue in public.

The Trump administration has announced that it will be sending National Guard troops to the border, even though crossings are at a 50-year low. There are already so many Border Patrol agents there that each agent makes an average of two arrests per month. Trump's plan includes states like California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas; as well as states adjacent to border states, like Oregon, Nevada, Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah, and Louisiana. Governors have the final approval on National Guard deployments. This means Donald Trump's plan won't work without the support of governors. So if we want to stop the systematic removal of millions of aspiring Americans from the United States by the National Guard, we need to make sure governors in the targeted states hear from their constituents. Please join with me and demand that Governor Greg Abbott does not authorize the Texas National Guard to join Donald Trump's Deportation Force.

We ask Senator Deb Fischer to hold town halls in which she will be in attendance so constituents can listen to her and ask questions. Senator Deb Fischer is not holding any town halls in which she will be in attendance over the February break. The February break is specifically designed for constituents to meet with their representatives. We ask Senator Fischer to do her job and hold a town hall.

Sen. Ben Sasse's constituents are denied the opportunity to interact with him and ask him questions. He says for all of 2017, he will only hold telephone town halls. No such thing exists. We demand that he does his job & hold in-person town halls allowing his constituents to ask questions and receive answers.

Senator Roy Blunt we are asking for you to retire as US Senator of the State of Missouri on the grounds that you continually refuse to listen to Missouri constituents and hold a Town Hall meeting, with yourself present and accountable. Citing a rarely used 1924 law, Representatives Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) and Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) are calling on their Republican colleagues to obtain and review the president’s tax returns. The law states that either the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee, or the Joint Committee on Taxation, may request anyone’s tax returns―including the president’s. The American people deserve to know whether President Trump has financial ties with Russia and how his businesses will benefit from policies he implements. Over $10 million taxpayer dollars have already been spent on travel to Mar-a-logo in just 3 weeks of the Trump presidency. This doesn't include travel for his family. Americans are suffering and the new administration doesn't seem to understand that we are not watching the Kardashian's spending their own money on lavish lifestyles, we are watching the Trumps spending America's money that could educate our children, feed the hungry or even pay for part of a ridiculous wall now being spent producing the Trump lifestyle and Trump TV.

This is the second time we have petitioned with hundreds of signatures in support of backyard hens. We are asking the Augusta County Board of Supervisors to listen to its constituents and approve this request.

It is absolutely imperative that our representatives listen to the concerns of their constituents. If we don't hold them accountable and make them hear our voices, then we are not doing our part as responsible citizens. Government is for and by the people.
