Senator Toomey's offices around Pennsylvania and in DC have been sending calls directly to voicemail, or are just busy. He is supposed to work for his constituents, yet we are unable to share our concerns. Senator Toomey should hold multiple open and accessible town halls in the coming weeks and months for all his constituents so that he can hear directly from Pennsylvanians who are personally affected by how he votes in the Senate.

To Mr. Trump & Congress: From everything we have witnessed in the last few weeks and months, Donald Trump only responds kindly to LOYALTY and PROMISES and people who say YES to him. YES, we PROMISE that if a person does not want to have an abortion, they do not have to have one. But YES, we PROMISE that those who do will be able to do so safely. We PROMISE to fight against the appointment of Neil Gorsuch. Finally, we are putting all Congressmen on notice, regardless of party affiliation, that we are the most LOYAL, passionate and persistent constituents you have ever faced. Donald Trump ran on a platform promising to help the average working man and woman. Now he's rolling back protections specifically designed to protect these men and women. While his appointments are getting huge coverage, as they should, this will affect all of us, both Red and Blue. We need to get the word out on this.

During Betsy DeVos' confirmation hearing, her answers missed the mark to ensure the safety and equitability of students around the country. Here is what that hearing revealed to us: ~DeVos refused to agree that schools are no place for guns, citing one school that needs a gun to protect against grizzly bears. ~DeVos seems to lack a basic understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), which requires public schools to provide free and appropriate education to students with disabilities. ~She refused to agree that all schools that receive federal funds should be held to the same standards of accountability. This includes traditional public, public charter, and private schools that receive voucher money. Her political donations in Michigan prevented charter schools from being held to the same accountability standards as public schools. She has fought against accountability for charter schools which begs the question, what are these schools hiding? ~DeVos said that she would review gainful employment regulations without agreeing to enforce them. These regulations are in place to protect students and taxpayers by withholding federal student aid to career training programs that leave students buried in debt. ~She could not give her opinion on one of the most basic issues related to education when asked how she preferred to measure student progress- by proficiency or student growth. Her agenda to use taxpayer money to funnel money towards Christian Schools is unconstitutional. In 2001 Betsy DeVos and her husband were interviewed at "The Gathering," an annual summit for wealthy Christians. They were questioned about their work promoting the use of government funds on private and religious schools. She stated: "Our desire is to be in the Shephelah, and confront the culture in which we all live today in ways that will continue to help advance God's Kingdom, but not stay in our own faith territory. "It goes back to what I mentioned, the concept of really being active in the Shephelah of our culture - to impact our culture in ways that are not the traditional funding-the-Christian-organization route, but that really may have greater Kingdom gain in the long run by changing the way we approach things - in this case, the system of education in the country." According to the Nation’s Report Card, Michigan ranks near the bottom of fourth and eighth-grade math and fourth grade reading on a nationally ranked representative test. However, the charter schools in Michigan scored worse than the traditional public schools according to federal data. She is highly unqualified for the position of Secretary of Education. Our children deserve better than Betsy DeVos.

From former business associates to life long friends as well as those working closely with him in the White House have voiced seroius concerns about the mental health of the President of the United States. Having control over the strongest military in the history of the world with a nuclear arsenal capable of destroying life as we know it on earth demands a leader who is of the soundest mind, Donald J Trump is proving daily he is a clear and present danger to the world. Mr. Bannon is an avowed white supremacist who is clearly exercising undue influence over the POTUS. He is not qualified to serve on the NSC, especially when the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs has been summarily removed. This action requires the consent of the Senate to be legal. I am concerned that the Constitution is being subverted and our freedoms lost because of ignorance of the law.

Stephen Bannon is a White Nationalist and has led satellite radio and an extreme bizarre right-wing magazine (Breitbart) by racism, anti-Semitism, and xenophobia. There is no room in our country's leadership for this type of person. He must immediately resign.

Everyone needs healthcare insurance. We all pay for the uninsured. Without protection from the ACA, millions will lose their benefits. As a person with disabilities and a former nurse, I've seen first hand how everyone benefits from access to preventive and comprehensive healthcare.

Elected officials are intended to be working in the interest of their constituents. As such, statements made while in office, should carry the weight and responsibility of truth.

President Trump's executive order on immigration that suspends the US refugee program and resettlement of Syrian refugees and bans immigration from seven Muslim-majority nations is un-American and possibly unconstitutional. This order is creating massive chaos around the world, hurting the world's most vulnerable populations, and keeping families from being reunited. Leading Senate Democrats Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) have both introduced legislation to immediately repeal and defund this order. But Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is refusing to let it come to the floor for a vote – even though a growing contingent of Republican Senators are calling Trump's Muslim ban a threat to our national security and makes Americans around the globe less safe. Congress needs to hear from you to take action to overturn Trump's Muslim ban executive order.
