Elliott Abrams, a neoconservative who championed the Iraq war in the Bush White House, is reportedly emerging as Trump's choice to be Deputy Secretary of State. On 2/9/17, counselor to the President, Kellyanne Conway appeared on Fox & Friends (a news program) to encourage viewers to purchase Ivanka Trump's products. This is a clear violation of ethics and is against the law. She cannot be allowed to misuse or abuse her position as representative of the POTUS for private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity. Please join us in demanding that she be relieved of her duties as acting counselor to the president.

This petition is about ethical violations. There are pending lawsuits against the President for ethical violations, but we need to be sure that everyone on his team acts within the ethical standards put in place to prevent corruption. If Conway is allowed a free pass on this clear violation, it leaves the door open for many more such ethical violations to come.

Trump has promised to release his taxes, pending an audit. That promise has been renewed recently, but also disavowed. I don't need to see his taxes, but the Senate certainly does. They should review his taxes so they can be assured that there are no problems.

Senator Cassidy's office phones have been going to voicemail, and in some offices the mailbox has been full. Constituents in Lake Charles also have been unable to confirm whether anyone is staffing the local office. Constituents deserve an opportunity to make their voices heard.

One in which every member is free from the fear of being singled out because of their differences. In a sanctuary city, officials implement policies to restrict local police from turning immigrants over to federal immigration agents and declare in no uncertain terms that immigrants are welcome. Without them, undocumented immigrants are left vulnerable to racial profiling, detention and deportation. It is our hope that this petition will help us get on the agenda to discuss adopting a resolution to become an official Sanctuary City.
