I'm so tired of the change for no reason.

We need to save the Presidency and our country from the huge conflicts of interests that Trump is bringing with him. The deadline is December 18 as the vote of the Electoral College is December 19 th. We will ALL be affected if there is no restriction put on him. It could be the end of our democracy if he is not stopped. THIS MAY BE OUR LAST CHANCE.

To allow one person (the U.S. President) the ability to launch any or all of our 2000 nuclear missiles at a moments notice is extremely dangerous. Such an action could take hundreds of million lives (think 5 times all those lost in both World War I and World War II) and possibly destroy the Earth's ability to support human life. Furthermore if a country launched an attack of any size against the U.S. our triad of nuclear delivery systems (submarines, airborne bombers and ground based silos) would survive in sufficient quantity to destroy the attacker. The real danger is a mistaken launch. A single person might receive wrong or misleading information, be affected by personal bias, or suffer an accident or sickness affecting judgment resulting in a launch without just cause thereby unnecessarily devastating our world.

Donald Trump's business interests are intertwined with politics worldwide. Any decisions he makes that involve a country that includes his businesses raises the specter of his acting not on Our behalf but on His. This would be a cardinal violation of the position of President.

Trump's insistence on hiding the truth poses a grave risk to every citizen of the United States!

One thing that almost EVERYBODY agrees on -- whether or not we voted for Donald Trump -- is that it is NOT OK for him to make national and international policy decisions based on how much it will help or hurt his personal business investments. For this reason, we the undersigned call on our elected representatives from BOTH parties in Congress to demand that 1. President-elect Trump put his personal investments and assets into a blind trust while in the White House (as all his predecessors for the last 40 years have done) in order to avoid conflicts of interest or the appearance thereof. 2. President-elect Trump immediately release his tax returns (as all his predecessors for the last 40 years have done) so that we can know in advance about his investments and potential conflicts of interest. 3. President-elect Trump and all his appointees conduct and all their official email correspondences on government servers, where these emails can be retrieved later if charges of corruption should arise. President-elect Trump campaigned as a different kind of candidate who would "drain the swamp" of corruption by wealthy special interests in Washington DC. The purpose of these demands is to help him be successful in keeping the promises he made to ALL of us.

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey has stated “It’s concerning for me to see the governor, who sat out this election, now take a wait-and-see approach on something like an appointment of Steve Bannon. For me, Bannon isn’t a wait-and-see situation. He is a white supremacist now named to a top White House position to advise the president-elect and that is something that needs to be denounced and rejected. I don’t think it’s prejudging to look at Bannon’s record of vile behavior and say there’s any situation to have him anywhere near the White House, let alone advising the president.” Join us in expressing our agreement with AG Healey to Governor Charlie Baker.

If we want clean government, it must start at the top. Our laws must treat everyone equal.

The privatization of public schools in Michigan has been disastrous for students, particularly for students of color and those with disabilities. DeVos helped block efforts to clean up the for-profit, unregulated charter school mess in her home state. Many students who currently receive a good public education will lose access to that opportunity under the system of vouchers and school choice that she advocates. Please put children before profits and stop this nomination.

UPDATE: There has already been a flurry of bigoted executive orders just a week into the Trump administration, including an unconstitutional Muslim ban that has already been temporarily blocked by the courts. Worse still, the white nationalist Steve Bannon has now been added to the National Security Council. It is *LONG* past time for Wall Street to speak up on behalf of its Muslim employees, its diverse workforce, and to show leadership in the face of Islamophobia and hate. --------- Every major Wall Street bank has staff associations devoted to minorities, including people of color, religious minorities, and LGBTQ people. Yet the big U.S. banks have been silent now that Trump has named both a white nationalist (Steve Bannon) and an anti-Muslim bigot (Michael Flynn) to his cabinet. In late 2016, the Ranking Members of the House Financial Services and Senate Banking Committees, Rep. Maxine Waters and Senator Sherrod Brown were joined by Rep. Keith Ellison and Senator Elizabeth Warren in a letter to financial services leaders, demanding that they condemn the appointment of Stephen Bannon to Donald Trump's administration. They asked the industry, “what message will it send to your customers and employees if you stay silent?” We agree.
