I am personally affected by apparently everything that Donald Trump is doing, but more importantly, I'm affected by the type of person he is. Andrea Bocelli's voice is so remarkable, so grace-filled it would be a kind of sacrilege for him to perform for someone as despicable as Donald Trump.

Quick history lesson: Among the reasons for the creation of the Electoral College was "to stop a demagogue—a tyrannical mass leader who preys on our prejudices—from becoming President.” And, as spelled out by Alexander Hamilton in the Federalist Papers, to prevent "the desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils."[1] Yet, in just a few days, the Electoral College could cast their votes for a demagogue whose victory seems to have been aided by efforts of the Russian government. There has been evidence that Trump supporters were in communication with Russian government officials. And furthermore, there is evidence that Russian-backed parties were behind hacks into the Democratic Party and the Clinton campaign. These same parties may have also hacked the Republican Party, but chose not to leak any information from that attack. If Donald Trump's massive financial conflicts of interest that would violate the Constitution, his unrepentant demagoguery, his embrace of unconstitutional policies, and the fact that he lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes were not enough to convince electors to vote against him, then benefitting from, and possibly colluding with, cyber warfare from a foreign power aiming to undermine our 240-year-old democracy absolutely must be the final straw. The truth is that the Electoral College should be abolished, as more than 600,000 MoveOn members have said in a recent petition. And if it didn't exist, Hillary Clinton would have won the election with a commanding popular vote victory. But since it does exist, for now, electors can and must embrace their right to vote their conscience and be the final safeguard against an unfit president. We know it's a long shot that the electors will block Trump. But we have to try. Horrified by the lack of public action on this issue. We ask the president to take whatever steps possible to address this unprecedented interference.

We now know that Russia, a foreign government, tried to influence our democratic election. We have a president elect who has not, and will not, let us know about his business interests around the globe. There have been high ranking aids in his campaign who have proven close ties to Russia. He has now chosen a Sec of State who also has close ties with Russia. He has completely disregarded and insulted our intelligence community dismissing their claims of hacking. In addition to having a bipartisan investigation into the Russian hacking, we must do more. We must postpone the inauguration until we get to the bottom of the Russian hacking and can fully understand its ramifications before we put the unknown quantity of Donald Trump into the power of the White House!

You're paying paying thousands and thousands of dollars to get your degree. Even when you graduate your still paying off your college loan. If congress pays for college more people will be educated.

Donald Trump lied when he promised to release tax returns. He should not have anyone in the cabinet who has conflicts of interest and is unsuitable for leadership. This petition is based on a NY Times article of the same name.

The CIA documented Russian interference in our election and Trump's deep unaddressed conflicts of interest throw the legitimacy of our election and the qualification of our future POTUS into question for every American! We the people, feel that Rex Tillerson is too closely aligned with Russia for the position of Secretary of State. Our country and allies need someone who understands the complexity of the Middle East and Europe without conflicts of interests. It is critical that Donald Trump's presidency not be confirmed by the Electoral College until there has been further investigation into Russia's alleged role in the 2016 election and the results of that investigation have been made public. Only at the country's peril can the findings of its intelligence community be so easily set aside. Likewise, the connection of several key Trump advisers and supporters of Vladimir Putin and other powerful Russians, cannot be reasonably dismissed as coincidence. This includes the newly nominated Secretary of State and current head of Exxon/Mobil, a recipient of Putin's special "Friendship" award. The possible risks to the world of the Electoral College voting without more information, are too great.

There may be inappropriate ties that would greatly compromise American and global welfare in the event of a Trump presidency. This compromise would affect the US in particular, the world in general. If inappropriate ties are proven, Trump must not be inaugurated as President of the United States.

Most states have adopted winner-take-all rules for their EC delegates. In recent days some have initiated draconian penalties for those who violate those rules. So far, a number of Democratic delegates have announced their willingness to back a reasonable Republican candidate if a sufficient number of Republicans can join them. Most who do so, from both parties, will place themselves at legal risk. We ask ACLU to pledge its assistance to this cross-party effort.
