• OBAMA SHOULD APPOINT MERRICK GARLAND DURING THE RECESS!!
We the People must object to the unprecedented Senate blockage of President Obama's nominee for appointment to the Supreme Court from being given a hearing. President Obama must use his power to appoint Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court during the Congressional recess. Petition him to act without hesitation!!

  • Include Hispanics and all ethnicities within Orange County arrest and incarceration statistics
Inaccuracy of public information is a misrepresentation of useful crime data, essential to identify and remedy our county's most pressing socio-economic challenges. It is imperative that our leaders have access to precise statistical data reflective of our county's multicultural diversity in order to make the best decisions that impact our society and community. We respectfully demand that an ethnicity column be included within county crime statistics and police affidavits.

  • Ranked Choice Voting in All States
Maine just became the first state in the nation to change to ranked-choice voting. This could fix our entire system, especially if it is also used in deciding party nominees. It allows people to vote for 3rd party candidates more safely, without fear of wasting their vote. It is associated with more civil elections. We ask that ranked-choice voting be implemented in all state and federal elections.

  • Minimum Presidential Qualifications
American voters have been disenfranchised due to the lack of qualifications required for presidential candidates. Had a minimum qualification requirement been enforced for the 2016 presidential election, a great many of the RNC and DNC candidates would have been disqualified. This would have opened up an opportunity for more qualified candidates, without the harmful effects of personal or professional litigation overshadowing the serious issues of this nation. When minimum qualifications are not met, the policy issues facing our country cannot be discussed on a proactive level, and it hurts our democracy.

  • Make election day in the US a National holiday
With less than 54% of the eligible population voting, not enough people are participating the process. Nothing is ever 100%, but 46% not voting is simply unacceptable. Please sign and share with as many as you can!

  • President Obama, protect your right to nominate the next Supreme Court justice
I truly believe that the right and duty to nominate a Supreme Court justice belongs to the person who is president at the time the vacancy occurs, and that the Senate's reprehensible tactic to steal this right from President Obama cannot be allowed to succeed.

  • Rebuild a TRULY DEMOCRATIC Democratic Party
If the DNC wants my scarce and dwindling discretionary dollars, it had better give me a GOOD, PROGRESSIVE REASON. We have had more than enough stale thinking, lame planning, and manipulation by party leaders. NO MORE "superdelegates," elitist, power-mad leaders, and insipid, uninspiring rhetoric. Change or disappear.

  • President-Elect Trump: Remove Stephen Bannon from your staff
The Civil Rights Act outlaws discrimination against nonwhite individuals. White nationalism espouses the ideology of the inferiority of nonwhites, which is reprehensible. Having a white nationalist in Trump's inner circle is a frightening signal that he may act on his racist campaign rhetoric and possibly work to move American democracy toward autocracy.

  • Appoint Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court
Clearly the Republican majority in the Senate has withheld action on President Obama's nomination purely on political grounds, not because of any substantive objection to the nominee. The President should exert his authority to appoint on the basis that the Senate has neglected its constitutionally mandated responsibility.

  • Tom Hanks: lead a group of artists to take over the House in 2018
The country has gone to hell in a hand basket. We need drastic change as soon as possible. Due to gerrymandered districts, it's impossible for typical Democratic candidates, even very good ones, to get a majority in the House. Tom Hanks could lead a group of 25 popular entertainers in moving to Republican districts, winning seats there, and regaining control. This would bring the Republican-led destruction of the county and the planet to a screeching halt. Hopefully Bruce Springsteen, Matt Damon, and Leonardo DiCaprio will join him right away, with many others soon following. The American people love celebrities. Republican districts in the flyover states could be easily won by the right celebrity, and Tom's credibility with the heartland makes him the perfect artist to lead this effort.

  • Bruce Springsteen: lead a group of artists to take over the House in 2018
The country has gone to hell in a hand basket. All three branches of government will now be controlled by the party that does not recognize the corrupting influence of money in politics, that suppresses the right of citizens to vote, and that denies the reality of human induced climate change. We need a correction as soon as possible. Due to gerrymandered districts, it's impossible for typical progressive candidates, even very good ones, to get a majority in the House. Bruce Springsteen could lead a group of 25 popular entertainers in moving to conservative districts, winning seats there, and creating real hope for democracy reform. This would bring the Republican-led destruction of the country and the planet to a screeching halt. Hopefully Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, and Leonardo DiCaprio will join him right away, with many others soon following. The American people love celebrities. Republican districts in the flyover states could be easily won by the right celebrity, and Bruce's credibility with blue collar America makes him the perfect artist to lead this effort.
