"Donald Trump received unprecedented support from a foreign power, has called for a religious test to enter the country, and will be in violation of the constitution on his first day in office because of payments he receives from foreign governments" - Diane Russell . He has refused to eliminate his egregious conflicts of interest and is clearly expecting to use the presidency to advance his business interests as well as to promote white supremacy and other fascist doctrines. His presidency will be an unmitigated catastrophe for this country and probably for the rest of the world.

The media tells us that it is the "consensus" of the CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies that the Russians hacked our presidential election to help Donald Trump get elected. Yet so far no evidence has been made public to support such a shocking claim. With fairness of our electoral process being questioned and the risk of a military confrontation between the world's most powerful nuclear armed states, the public needs to know the facts.

With obvious proof of outside tampering in our election, we should not have to settle for the outcome of this tainted election. Period!

Our legislative bodies relentlessly investigated Hillary Clinton's emails, but appear content to ignore a report from their own intelligence agency that foreign influence on our elections is real and based in fact. This dismissal of allegations is simply unconscionable and utterly unpatriotic. It is quite possible that Donald Trump is simply not our legitimately elected President. We must not stand for this apathy from Congress.

Our concern is that the election of November 8th will not be recognized as legitimate by a majority of Americans. We believe there will be grave and permanent damage done to our democracy if the perceived illegitimate results of that election are allowed to stand. We the people love our nation too much for there to be a widespread and growing belief that our elected leaders allowed a miscarriage of justice to the most grievous degree.

As the people's party, we do not have time for blame or looking back: we must maintain a laser focus on looking forward to build uplifting, progressive, people-powered campaign capabilities as we look toward 2018 and 2020. The GOP’s lurid and grotesque use of big money can buy ads and marketing resources--but a TV ad can’t hug someone who’s suffering, a radio spot can’t come to the defense of someone being attacked because of race, gender, or sexual orientation; only genuine human connection can do this: Pete will help us do this--TOGETHER!

Many cities across the country and our own state have changed local laws and ordinances to allow for the raising of a small flock of hens. It is time for Kellogg, ID to join this movement. With proper education and a little research it is very easy to raise chickens in an urban setting without fear of noise, smell or disease. At the same time you can provide your family with a very healthy choice in home-grown eggs. Factory farming is failing us in many ways. This will give residents the right to provide a much more humane, and safe environment for backyard chickens. Let's join cities like Mullan, Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Bonners Ferry, Moscow, Sandpoint, Preston, McCall , and many more to put food production into the hands of city residents.

Variety reported on December 8 that Donald Trump will remain as executive producer of The Celebrity Apprentice when the show returns in 2017. This will mean that NBC will have a fiduciary relationship with the president of the United States, creating an unprecedented conflict of interest for the network. Having Trump as an executive producer is intolerable. NBC is now financially invested in Trump's reputation. The network will have an incentive to weigh aggressively reporting about Trump against what they may lose in revenue if Trump's reputation is damaged. Further, imagine the choices they will face if NBC has a blockbuster story about Trump. This is not inconceivable. Remember, NBC is the network that had the hot mic tape of Trump bragging about sexual assault -- but it was The Washington Post, not NBC News, that broke the story. There is simply no way that citizens can trust the reporting of NBC News, CNBC, and MSNBC. Executives have put hard working reporters at these outlets in a completely untenable spot: No amount of disclosure is sufficient when the network is financially invested in the president. NBC has already demonstrated that we cannot rely on their assurances. Trump's involvement flies in the face of previous statements from the network. In a June 2015 statement, NBC said they were ending their business relationship with Trump because his attacks on immigrants violated the network's belief that "respect and dignity for all people are the cornerstones of our values." At the time, the network reported this, saying "Trump ceased his involvement with the reality show during his presidential bid." The solution is simple: NBC needs to dump Trump. As long as they have a fiduciary relationship with Trump, this is going to be an insurmountable problem.

Yet she was not declared the winner due to a “winner-take-all-by-state” practice that is NOT described in the Constitution. In fact, Attorney Jerry L. Sims points out that this absurdly unfair convention could mathematically allow a candidate to win with only 22.6% of the national vote. Attorney Sims says that the “winner-take-all-by-state” practice of allocating electors is an unconstitutional violation of the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment and argues that electors should be allocated proportionally by state vote OR winner-take-all according to the results of the national vote. Harvard Law School professor Lawrence Lessig agrees that there is substantial argument for such a case. We would argue that the former method would be preferable since it still gives less densely populated states a proportionally stronger voice, due to the weighted bias of determining numbers of electors per state, without completely silencing the voices of such a disproportionate number of voters. It also makes more practical the possibility of electors overturning the apparent outcome of a close election if they deemed it necessary. This is because fewer electors would need to vote against their party affiliation in a close election in order to discharge their duty of protecting the country in a rare situation where they would consider it necessary to prevent a candidate from taking power who is unfit, unqualified, has many potential conflicts of interest, and who has a questionable relationship with a foreign government that does not have the best interests of the country at heart. Although it could be argued that the candidates might have campaigned differently were it recognized beforehand that the “winner-take-all-by-state” practice was unconstitutional, there is also strong argument that people in “blue” states would have voted in much greater numbers had this been the case. There are also substantial grounds for a case to be brought that the election should be nullified because of the unprecedented interference in the election by a foreign government (namely Russia), Hatch Act violations and collusion by government officials, and blatant suppression of voters of color in “swing states.” This decision would result in the spirit of the Constitution being carried out in the most efficient and timely manner. On behalf of California voters, we urge Attorney General Kamala D. Harris to challenge the apparent outcome of the election in the United States Supreme Court. We ask the Supreme Court to consider the potential damage done to disenfranchised voters in this democratic country if their Constitutional right to equal protection is denied. We ask Attorney General Harris to demand that the “winner-take-all-by-state” allocation of electors be struck down as unconstitutional and that electors be allocated proportionally by state vote OR winner-take-all according to the national vote in this election. Donald Trump is unfit to be the president and most powerful leader of the world. His cabinet consists of extremists of the worst kind. His policies threaten everything Americans and the World hold dear, not the least of which includes the health of our one shared planet. We cannot let an unfit president take office. The Electors were designed to be our Constitutional safeguard against situations such as we are in. It is their duty to stand up for the welfare of our country and in this case, our world. We call on the Electors to do their duty and vote no to Trump for the sake of our children and future generations.

The President-elect's behavior is so erratic that he appears to be very much like other public figures such as Saddam Hussein. He eschewed vitriol and rallied for outright violence, hate, and Constitutional violations - with impunity. This behavior from a leader signals this behavior should be the way of life for all citizens. It is not. Even now, before having the capacity and authority to bind the United States in any agreements (therefore not having the right to begin having negotiation talks with others) he is using various techniques to waste taxpayer dollars and put the country in peril for the sake of his ego. His grasp of ethics leaves a large question in the minds of many. His "mercurial" nature does not create a sense of what this country needs - sound and solid leadership and guidance. Already, he is delegating preparatory functions to his Vice President and refusing to attend national security briefings. This gives the appearance that Trump never wanted to hold office in the first place. Before being confirmed to hold office, Trump should be evaluated to determine whether he has the capacity to do so. If not, the Electoral ballots should be cast for another who more closely fits the requirements of capable of holding office without needing to resign because of the enumerated disqualification conditions: ". . . death, resignation, or temporary incapacitation, or if the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet judge that the President is no longer able to discharge the duties of the presidency."
