Hate speech and statements supporting and/or encouraging violence don't belong in our public discourse, and much less in Presidential politics. Rep. Cresent Hardy has been silent far too long and it is the responsibility of leaders from all parties to denounce any candidate who uses hateful and violent rhetoric in their public statements. Now is when we need courageous leaders the most. Now is the time for Rep. Cresent Hardy to demonstrate leadership for the constituents of Nevada Congressional District 4.

Every year around this time, I hear nothing but complaints from others about the schedule disruption of Daylight Savings Time. As a father of young children, I see the negative impacts of this artificial change on mood and temperament. And there are numerous studies linking DST to health risks. Daylight savings time no longer serves any purpose worth the hassle. It's time to stop disrupting our circadian rhythms twice a year for no reason.

Mitch McConnell and other senators are obstructing the appointment of a Supreme Court Justice...because they want to, and apparently they can. These Senators took an oath to uphold the Constitution. To sue for a writ of mandamus would force these officials to do their job whether they want to or not.

America has an enormous crises right now at its most pivotal time regarding our PERSONAL and CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO VOTE. How can a state law supersede Constitutional law? Many states have different sets of voter laws that restrict you from being free to vote for who you want mainly due to party affiliation. Taxation without representation was one of the reasons this country broke off from England. Politics have become the new battle for The Crown. Congress has become the new house of lords and a CORRUPT house at that. Just look at Florida; 3 million taxpayers Not Allowed to VOTE! I found out that my party affiliation in California was not allowed to vote for my choice of President. Something needs to be done, like automatic voter registration immediately, no matter one's party affiliation, then a national Election Holiday for both the Primaries and the General election. Hopefully, every type of government system voting would do this. Ideally, it's the way it should be: The Land of the FREE The home of the BRAVE. Paper ballots, bring your ballot vote into the polling station and put it in the voting box. Videotape hand-counting workers. More time... focus on one state at a time or have someone from the UN help make sure the voting system is fair for Americans; ANYONE OF AGE WITH ID/D. Any legal identification in America. No more Super-Delegates. Re-think pledged delegates. Ideally, this would be the American voters' dream. I would patiently and gratefully await for an honest and fair count. The Constitution is being violated for partisan politics. The U.S. Senate should do their job and consider Merrick Garland on his experience and credentials.

President Obama has nominated Merrick Garland, now Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court. [1] Judge Garland was the valedictorian of his class at Niles West High School. [2] But so far, Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Republican Senate Judiciary chair Chuck Grassley insist that the Senate will not consider Judge Garland's nomination. Illinois Republican Senator Mark Kirk has said that he will meet with Judge Garland. [3] But as Judge Garland's home state Republican Senator, we in Illinois need Mark Kirk to do more. An eminently qualified jurist with impeccable credentials deserves a fair, honest hearing for a position which requires fairness, honesty, and integrity.

Every member of the Utah Bar Association is required to take the following oath: "I do solemnly swear that I will support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Utah; that I will discharge the duties of attorney and counselor at law as an officer of the courts of this State with honesty, fidelity, professionalism, and civility; and that I will faithfully observe the Rules of Professional Conduct and the Standards of Professionalism and Civility promulgated by the Supreme Court of the State of Utah." Both of these Senators are putting partisan politics ahead of obeying and defending the Constitution of the United States by refusing to give advice and consent to the President's nomination to the Supreme Court. They should be disbarred for failing to adhere to their oath as attorneys.
