Donald Trump is a racist and a bigot, but the political committee that works to elect Republicans to the Senate has been profiting off of his name by selling Trump-branded merchandise since May. North Carolina Senator Richard Burr (R) has criticized some of Trump's remarks, but he's still accepting support from the sale of Trump merchandise to help his 2016 re-election campaign. In a recent email, a Republican committee encouraged supporters to “claim” the “perfect gift” — a Trump koozie for $12 — “just in time for the holidays!” They’re also selling bumper stickers that read “I’m with Trump,” further proof that Republicans like Senator Portman are willing to stand with Trump and his divisive ideas when it leads to a payoff for their campaigns. It is absolutely hypocritical for Republicans to denounce Donald Trump while accepting campaign contributions raised in his name! If Richard Burr truly represents the values of North Carolina, he will demand that the National Republican Senatorial Committee stop using Donald Trump’s racism as a fundraising tool and refuse any donations made in his name. Please join with me in demanding that North Carolina Senator Richard Burr reject all funds raised by Trump’s racism and bigotry!

Democracy Matters students across the country have been organizing on college campuses, raising awareness of the core structural issue of money in politics and how dealing with it is a critical first step to solving all other issues. In recognition of this truth, Bernie Sanders signed our pledge in October 2014 and has made restoring democracy for all a central pillar of his campaign. Despite being asked numerous times directly, the Clinton campaign has decline to join him in support for restoring democracy. On December 8th in New Hampshire, a Democracy Matters student directly asked Secretary Clinton to sign the pledge. Despite declaring that she supported the full text of the pledge, she again refused to sign, but promised to consider it. Almost two weeks later we have heard nothing from the campaign. However given the broad bi-partisan support for getting big money out of politics, it is important that all 3 democratic candidates publicly pledge to support restoring democracy. Because I have been victimized by my medical licensing board on behalf of a lying criminal (former patient) who filed a knowingly false complaint to the MA BORIM, and they wrongly launched a year(+) long investigation against me even though I have obtained a Harassment Prevention Order (Restraining order for the unrelated) against the Complainant for her ongoing harassment against me! Despite the BORIM knowing her complaint against me was baseless and fraught with fraud and the fact that I have said restraining order against the Complainant, they continue to persecute me because one of the services I provide at MD Medical Spa and Wellness Center is medical marijuana certifications. I am being victimized on behalf of a criminal and blocked to earn a living by my medical licensing board, all because they refuse to have Complainants attest and sign to thee validity of their complaint and the contents within! Please sign, a statement of attest should be required for complaints made against ALL professionals in MA!!

Democracy demands transparency and accountability, DWS has violated each of these tenets and should retire.

This petition is to encourage MoveOn.org to hold a membership vote to endorse a Democratic candidate for President before the Iowa Primary. On the “Run Warren Run” website MoveOn states: “We will encourage all candidates to embrace the Warren agenda on the economy, pursue diplomacy over war, fight to get big money out of politics and address climate change, and present an agenda that speaks to the growing demands of the Movement for Black Lives, the need for immigration reform, and the whole of the progressive coalition.” No candidate role models these qualities better than Bernie Sanders. A large portion of his campaign platform is in line with the agenda sort after by MoveOn. Through this petition we want to encourage a similar voting process as recently carried out by Democracy for America. They were a key partner in the Run Warren Run campaign and its membership overwhelmingly decided to support Bernie’s campaign. We would like the membership of MoveOn to have the same opportunity.

Here’s the truth: from the first day of Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign, their continued success has shocked many of the Democratic Party Establishment who would have preferred a coronation over a competitive campaign. On December 18th, due to a fault in their own technology platforms, the DNC took unprecedented steps to take away our access to data accumulated through tens of thousands of voter contacts made by our volunteers — supporters like you who power our political revolution. In essence, the Democratic Establishment is effectively shutting down our ability to access the information we need for field campaigns and volunteer activities just six weeks before the Iowa caucuses. We're sending out this petition to the Oregon members of the DNC, who represent us within the national party, to reverse this draconian 'punishment' and put 'democracy' back into the Democratic Party. DNC members across the country are just as outraged as we are: As Heather Mizeur, a Committeewoman on the Democratic National Committee (DNC) stated: "If the DNC doesn't reverse its decision to give the Sanders campaign access to its voter file data again, I am ready to resign my post as a Democratic National Committeewoman from Maryland in protest. The DNC is expected to stay neutral and supportive of all candidates during the primaries and their response to this situation is heavy-handed and ill-conceived.” We need 'Democracy' BACK in the Democratic Party!

President Obama has the authority to direct the Department of Defense to automatically upgrade the less-than-honorable discharges to Honorable Discharges for gay and lesbian veterans who were kicked out solely because they were guilty of being homosexuals. This presidential option is no different than when President Jimmy Carter on his first day in office on 1/21/1977, issued an Executive Order granting unconditional pardons to hundreds of thousands of men who evaded the draft during the Vietnam War. Over 100,000 veterans who served honorably received less-than-honorable discharges simply for being gay or lesbian. Title 10 USC §1553 Current rules requires that each such veteran apply individually to a Discharge Review Board, or a Board of Correction of Military Records, to right this wrong. Most of these requests are denied because the boards presume the correctness of the original discharge and place the burden of proving otherwise on the individual veteran making it a costly and multi-year long process. Veterans’ less-than-honorable discharges become “scarlet letters”, barring them from veterans’ benefits, costing them government and other jobs, leaving many to grapple with shame for decades. Since “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was repealed, Congress has refused to act on the proposed “Restore Honor to Service Members Act” that would grant upgrades to veterans discharged solely for being gay. So, we need President Obama to issue an Executive Order to upgrade those discharges now!

As a long term Democratic Party supporter I am truly disappointed in the way the party has treated Bernie Sanders. The political machine appears to want to deny voters the ability to hear what Sanders has to say. Let the voters determine who the Democratic candidate will be!

Debbie has sought her new precious in Hillary Clinton whom she clearly wants to utilize for her own political gain. She has come here from Middle Earth after clearly having failed to secure her place within Sauron's inner circle following his defeat at the hands of the companions. She has now set her sights on the United States of America after seeing a bit of herself in Hillary. We can't let that happen. Hello, I’m of the Millennial generation, the first time I was eligible to vote was the year Kerry and Bush were running against each other for President. Being that it was my first opportunity to vote I looked forward to executing my right as a woman living in the United States in 2004. Well, I knew I wasn’t going to vote for Bush but Kerry did not feel worthy of my vote either, so I wrote-in a nobody. After that, I unregistered myself from voting and, like the majority of Millennials, facing a myriad of challenges ahead of me, had given up. When you sit back and pay attention to the corruption in our government it tends to beat you down and make you feel like you have no voice, hope, or vote. Two years ago I realized that I can make a difference in my local elections and reregistered to vote. In Seattle, where we elected to the Seattle City Counsel an awesome Indian American woman running in the independent Socialist Alternative party that she had created. After she won, twice, I felt a sense of renewed hope that we could collectively change things on a small scale. This non-white woman ran against the establishment, against a corrupt money infiltrated system and with the mobilization of the (mostly young) people she won! That gave me so much hope! Then, a year ago as I started to care more about politics. Through liking the Elizabeth Warren Facebook page I came across a meme quoting a Senator Bernie Sanders. The meme was right on point for me, and so I went and "liked" Senator Bernie Sanders's Facebook page. When Bernie announced he was running for president I thought, "wow, I'd like to learn more about this guy" so I dove into the vastness of the Internet. Reading and listening to everything I could find about him, from old articles, video clips, radio clips, interviews and began to realize he cares about the world for the exact same reason I am an activist. I fight for my (not yet born) children. I constantly wonder, “what kind of world am I working to make for them to come into?” With Bernie Sanders running for president we have a chance for a leader that knows how and will LEAD this country towards unity and lead us to vote for representatives that will pass legislation BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE! If you have been paying attention then you know that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has been doing everything they can to keep Bernie from become the Democratic nominee. I genuinely believe, NOW, when we have such a leader running for President of the United States, that this is the time for us to stand up and take back what is left of our “democracy”. Knowing how much Bernie Sanders appeals to a sleeping giant of non-voting eligible voters such as Millennials, Independents, Liberals, Libertarians and the lifelong Republicans that don’t agree with him on women’s or gay rights but are campaigning for him because they are fed up with the corruption as much as the rest of us are, I BELIEVE HE CAN WIN the Presidency outside of the Democratic Party AS A INDEPENDENT WRITE-IN. Democrat voters afraid to split the vote are welcome to write Bernie in so they can keep a Republican from the White House. Bernie supporters are far less (by a huge percentage) likely to support Hillary than Hillary supporters are to support Bernie. If Bernie Sanders loses the Democratic nomination due to DNC corruption, I ask that We the People ask Bernie’s campaign to use this incredible tool of the (mostly) 21st Century, the internet, to spread the information that he will run as a write-in and have the Sleeping Giant rally to make history by electing a President We the People want and break free of the two party system we all despise. This is our V for Vendetta moment! Let us stand together and once again fight to recreate a government FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE! Thank you!

Due to the undemocratic actions taken by Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Democratic National Committee and because we believe the two party system, corporations, special interest groups, and the wealthy and powerful are corrupting our Democracy, I started this petition requesting that Bernie Sanders run as an Independent in the 2016 Presidential Election. For millions of us, neither party represents our ideals as fully as Senator Bernie Sanders does. This is why he must run as an Independent so we too are represented next year. Otherwise, many of us will be unable to vote for President in next years election.
