I believe that gerrymandered districts (which have rightly been ruled unconstitutional) are destroying our democracy.

There are some policies carried out by DHS that MoveOn members strongly disagree with. But shutting it down over one of the Obama administration's progressive reforms would be crazy and damaging.

Currently there is very little protection for animals in New York State. Dogs and Cats are not safe from their owner leaving them outside in extreme weather. It has been as low as -25 with the wind chill here in the past month and it is not illegal to leave pets outside overnight?! If someone calls the police and reports animal cruelty, there is no law making it illegal. Please don't stand by and let this continue to happen to voiceless animals; please sign in support of bringing pets inside!

The American people need to realize that we have been bamboozled out of our rights and we need to stand up and take them back. It's been proven in several Supreme Court cases to be unconstitutional to say that a driver's license inspection, sticker registration, and insurance are required for your personal private property. Reference ex-parte Dickey supra Where the West Virginia Supreme Court defines the difference between the right of the people to use their property on the highway and the privilege of using it for private gain.

I am a Massage Therapist, a small business owner, the Vice President of the Golden Gate Unit of the American Massage Therapy Association, and appreciate massage in my healing self-care. I will be unable to afford starting a brick and mortar business and will have to increase my prices to deal with the proposed costs of the policy being considered. I have met with Supervisor Tang, attended meetings across the board, and tried to be part of the process of forming the policy. Supervisor Tang is ignoring our concerns.

Anyone who is a State of IL employee or retiree, senior citizen, teacher, fire fighter, police officer, or a taxpayer has heard about the dire state of the State. There is the pension "crisis" as well as threatened cuts to Medicaid and the list goes on. People don't want or can't afford tax increases but drastic cuts in programs is not acceptable either. The legalization of marijuana would alleviate the tax burden on Illinois citizens and avoid the need for drastic cuts. I am a retiree who spent over 34 years working for my pension and our governor and others would like to see my benefits cut. Whether you like the idea of smoking marijuana or not, those who smoke it do so even though it is illegal. Those who don't, are not likely to start if it becomes legal. Colorado is rolling in profits from the huge increase in tax revenue.. We need to send a message to members of the IL House & Senate that we, the citizens of IL, would welcome the legalization of marijuana for recreational use to help unburden the tax payers, fix the pension crisis, and avoid cuts to Medicaid and social programs in the State.

During the Reagan Administration means tests were added, so that any veteran could obtain assistance through the VA Medical System. Myself, my son, and many other veterans are being denied admission to VA Psychological System when suffering from severe PTSD

I love Chicago. I grew up here, and I'll always fight for what's right for our city. Ms. Kramer made a number of offensive posts to Twitter that were laced with racism and homophobia. I don't think there should be a seat in our City Council for a candidate who is unwilling to recognize that those posts offend the very people they're seeking to represent. I think that if Ms. Kramer considers herself a viable candidate she should apologize immediately.

The Occupy movement and political scientists have proven we are no longer a democracy. Congress and the President respond to the wealthy and corporations in making decisions. It is time the 99 percent spoke out and reclaimed their voices in government policy making.
