I used to assist my grandmother with the election process in our neighborhood. She used to stay up until 3 am tabulating votes in public. The results were transmitted before she left the election site. My mother-in-law also did this. My experience working with ballots made me realize that our democracy is literally in OUR hands. Somehow a generation has lost this connection. Budget and time conscious people have moved to the cheaper more efficient systems without understanding the high consequence. So many people have lost their lives for this freedom and it has been watered down to a very weak system that is far too easy to corrupt. We must have a system that will stand --not in our best days--but in our worst days. The time-honored precinct system--though not perfect--was in the local citizen control.

Americans of all political stripes can all agree about one thing: the Supreme Court is too political and it's corrupting our democracy.

Legislation is often crafted by lobbyists for special interest and introduced by members of Congress without any vetting. This is due to the fact that they feel indebted to the lobbyists for their election funding. Also their staff is overworked and frequently does not review what is being proposed.

We all suffer because America's election system is not transparent and neutral for any candidate.

I run a start-up company with little capital. I believe my potential customers will be drawn away from my site if it is much slower than sites of larger companies who can afford the higher price of a faster Internet.

Being residents of Frankfort we do not want a monopoly of the TV cable, Internet service, water, sewer and electric any longer. We protest the actions of the state mixing with private services and making as much money as they can from not only taxes, but from the services they provide. Competition is the right of every business and the Frankfort plant board prevents it. The Frankfort Plant board knows if they had competition they would lose customers. The Internet enriches the lives of my family by providing entertainment, knowledge and the world within a few clicks of a mouse button. Preventing the growth of our society so a few conglomerates can line their pockets is wrong. We need an open, fair and balanced Internet environment. Right now the Internet is a place of balanced access where all Internet services are treated equally. Now Comcast, Verizon and ATT want to change the rules and they've got the newest FCC appointee, Tom Wheeler, about to allow them to relegate websites they don't like to a "slow lane." That would include every non-profit organization, local website and small business site. It will almost certainly prevent any start-up from transforming into a Netflix, Twitter, Facebook or even Google. That doesn't sound smart for consumers or for the US.

Republicans backed the racist Nevada rancher. Republicans have told lie after lie about what would happen if gays marry, women are paid equally, minimum wage workers get a raise, and it goes on and on... But Democrats, who should be playing ads that show Republicans praising the racist rancher, talking down pay equity & being insensitive about raising the minimum wage (among other things) DO NOTHING. DEMOCRATS NEED TO REMIND US OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS UNDER OUR PRESIDENT AND SHOULD CONSTANTLY REMIND US OF REPUBLICAN HYPERBOLE AND LIES. Let Democrats know that you will NEVER donate to their campaigns if they are going to fight with one hand tied behind their backs!
