This man harasses the community. This man does not meet the adequate standards or beliefs or morals of an exemplary police officer. This man has harassed me and surly other patrons of Tidioute for 12 years. I strongly believe that he should be removed from his position as a Tidioute borough police officer.

This announcement comes after threatening to cut off water to nearly 100,000 working-class and poor Detroiters. A temporary reprieve is a hopeful sign, but it’s not enough-- the water shutoffs must end permanently. In our comprehensive report last November, we pointed out that Governor Snyder and his colleagues in the legislature appeared to be angling for control of the Detroit Water and Sewerage System by either transferring it to a new governmental agency or outright privatization, or a little of both. The city is bankrupt, not this enterprise. The real political game being played out is to wrest this huge enterprise from the City Water and Sewerage Department and transfer the operation—and the valuable business that can be handed out to allies and potential contributors—to the state. Great news! Governor Brown just allowed SB 1272, the Overturn Citizens United Act, to go to this November's ballot as Proposition 49! Now, California voters will have the chance to tell Congress to pass a Constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's terrible Citizens United and McCutcheon decisions, and to say that corporations aren't people, and money isn't speech. Please sign the petition thanking Governor Brown for letting Prop 49 go to the ballot and urging him to support it and SB 52, the California DISCLOSE Act.

Join us in calling on Congress to shut down Fusion Centers. Fusion Centers are routinely violating basic privacy and free speech rights of Americans: The Oklahoma Fusion Center partnered with the Keystone XL pipeline company TransCanada to profile anti-pipeline activists as terror threats. These peaceful students, ranch owners, and indigenous people who engaged in non-violent protest to defend their homes are now listed in government databases as terror threats! In Boston, and around the country, Fusion Centers monitored the Occupy movement, keeping tabs on dangerous activities like “a food drive and ‘yoga, faith & spirituality’ classes.” The Washington state Fusion Center partnered with the Army to infiltrate a local peace group and harass members when they tried to attend protests, and distributed “domestic terrorist” dossiers about some of the activists. In Virginia, a Fusion Center Terror Threat Assessment warns that the state has Universities, which are “recognized as a radicalization node for almost every type of extremist group,” it further warns of a Girl Scout Troop conducting a voter registration drive, as well as the more classic “extremists” like Greenpeace and local environmental groups. A Missouri Fusion Center had to retract its Threat report after warning local police to beware of cars bearing Ron Paul for President bumper stickers. Even a bi-partisan Senate investigation found that Fusion Centers produce “shoddy” intelligence and endanger civil liberties and privacy. The investigation also found that no one knows how much money we’ve poured into them. Bottomline: it’s time to shut Fusion Centers down.

I have been a U.S. citizen since birth, a voter for 40 years and a taxpayer for 43 years. I cannot bear the thought that my tax dollars are being squandered or held for political ransom. Our country is falling apart and each of us must demand accountability. Thank you for your consideration.
