Limits on campaign contributionsWe are being led down a money trail that makes politicians wealthy, and they may not back the corporations with the best products and services.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Paul Wehrmeister Sr.

Congress Member Campaign Finance ProvisionThe NRA and many other special interest groups lead Congress by the “nose“. Under current rules, politicians will go for the big campaign donations that special interest groups can easily award to either or both main parties. Special interest groups know that, in return for big campaign donations, they can get any legislation they want or can kill any legislation they do not want.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William Roberson

No more partiesI, as well as many other people I am sure, have an idea that would solve many of our countries problems. We HAVE TO get rid of the party system. As long as representatives are calling themselves for the most part Democrat or Republican, the majority of our country is going to vote in Democrats or Republicans regardless of whether or not they agree with their policies. As of now, people treat politics like a football game. They don't care what the players are like on either team, they just want their team to win. If we get rid of the party system all together, and candidates only represent themselves by name, all the people in this country who are now voting Democrat or Republican (two parties of which are owned by big business and private banks) just because they would rather see their team win more so than having candidates in office that would actually help the country and the world, would no longer be able to do this. People would be FORCED to listen to each candidates ideas and policies, and instead of judge them by what party they represent, they would then be judging those candidates strictly by their character. This would have immediate, positive effects in our government being that most of the people voted into office would have been voted in because of their beliefs and who they are as a person. The two party system is the key player in the demise of our country and enables corporations and banking institutions to control the masses while giving the people what they think is "choice." It is anything but choice. As of now most people think they can vote blue or red. If you get rid of the party system, people's options open up to many, many more than just the two. I am positive this would work, but first, I would say another petition must be signed into office. The PEOPLE must have voting rights on anything and everything that will effect them even on a minor scale. No more can we allow politicians to vote for us. They are not passing legislation that is in the best interest of humanity, only in the best interest of themselves and their bank accounts. We have to give the rights back to the people first in order for them to vote whether or not their should be a party system, because the representatives of both major parties will shoot the idea of having no parties down immediately. It must be up to the people. After all, it is our lives. We should have more of a say.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Andrew Simmons

Gov. Brown: California's $4.5 billion surplus must RESTORE CUTS, not fund Wall StreetState budget cuts during the Great Recession have been devastating. Tuition is up more than 50% at the University of California and California State University systems. CalFire is doing its best to fight raging wild fires in Southern California, despite cuts of $27 and $34 million. Thanks to progressives, California passed Proposition 30 last fall, increasing income taxes on the wealthiest 2% of Californians. The results are better than anyone could have hoped. In one year, we've gone from a $16 billion deficit to a $4.5 billion surplus. But now, Gov. Brown refuses to use the extra funds to restore horrific cuts made during the Great Recession. Instead he wants to pay Wall Street banks. The real way to fix California's debt problem is to grow the economy through funding education and other vital programs.213 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Eddie Kurtz

Hand counted paper ballots in all electionsElectronic voting machines and electronic scanners can be easily manipulated and hacked. We are paying private corporations to count our votes in secret. Let's do our elections like Germany and Switzerland and use only hand counted paper ballots.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by evan eisentrager

It's embarrassing to think we elected these people, this is a system that is so obsolete and over burdened that decisions are seemingly impossible to come by. specific issues are below and they will be ignored anyway so FWIW...2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by thomas p acito

Term Limits for Members of CongressThe nation recognized that unlimited tenure as President was unhealthy for the nation. It is time to acknowledge that unlimited tenure for members of congress also is unhealthy. It allows a few individuals to acquire disproportionate power and control. As a result, needed legislation hs been - and will continue to be - needlessly delayed or abandoned entirely because of a small minority of congress.104 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Richard Cheatham
