Democracy CANNOT exist when any political party has the congressional districts gerrymandered in such a way that only their candidates can be elected. There is hardly any reason to vote in state elections when this situation exists, the fix is in and it is by law.

I do not know how to write it - but the way Congress/Senate works they really are part-time workers. So don't you think they shouldn't get health care like all of us part time workers? I need help in wording this petition correctly. Thanks

The purpose of the committee is give the voters an objective unbiased report of the efficiency and productivity of their elected officials. This information could be used to determine if their elected officials have served their voters in a efficient and honest manner. This information can also help the voters determine whether their elected official are worthy enough to be re-elected.

Recent Council action removed vital economic development funds for growing the Capitol Riverfront, the Yards and Poplar Point. This investment would have created jobs, added residents, and served as a critical link in the city's economic development. Take action today and don't let this bad decision hurt the city's progress. The Executive Board of the South Dakota legislature recently voted to pay membership fees for all state legislators in the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), as well as the lawmakers' expenses when attending ALEC conferences. Financed in part by the billionaire Koch brothers, ALEC is a private, corporate-funded organization that produces "model legislation" to be advanced through state legislatures around the nation. Though ALEC claims to be nonpartisan, its model bills actually promote extreme conservative interests. Because this new practice is both a misuse of taxpayer money and a threat to our state's political process, we concerned South Dakota taxpayers hereby voice our strenuous opposition.

I have recently started a new job after having left my current for better pay. My new employer does not offer paid sick time off from work. Neither did my former employer. All Americans deserve time off with pay if they are sick. No one should have to worry about not being able to pay their bills if they miss work due to illness.

The Puerto Rico people voted for Statehood in the last elections. We want justice.

Mopeds and such should have to be licensed as cars do. The drivers should have to put license plates and insurance on them, and have a valid drivers license! We as automobile owners have these requirements, and they should be no different! It should also be made illegal for them to drive in the center of the lane. They should have to drive on the side or the lane, and yield to autos/trucks. The state needs money, and this would also bring up our revenue. By requiring the same for mopeds and other motorized vehicles. Motorcycles require the same so why not the mopeds?? Also, the state takes a drivers license from a drunk driver, or other reason, so they lose their means of transportation. BUT, then they can go get a MOPED and drive it! How much sense does this make? Let's give the drunk drivers the "OK" to ride around on these little mopeds, with no license, no insurance, no license plates, and if they cause an accident, most likely the driver that is legal, has paid insurance, license plates, and holds a valid drivers license will be at fault. Come on ....please....look at the seriousness of this issue! There are more and more of them on the roads. This is making it very dangerous for them and the other drivers. PLEASE give this you undivided attention! Make some new laws concerning these moped/ and like vehicles pay to ride like all the rest of us have to!! AND, keep the drunk drivers, that you take their license away, OFF the roads!

Its about a minority of Republicans in league with their corporate benefactors using tricks to hold onto power at the expense of the people and destroying our democracy. Its criminal and against the precepts of our Constitution. They must be impeached and the people must petition their rights to save themselves and our country.
