I am currently using Comcast to access the internet and access basic cable channels. The costs are high and the premium channels are bundled making the cost of TV access excessive. A local public utility could easily provide internet and cable TV access at a lower cost. This would help the school system by making high-speed internet available to students.

Purple is a symbolic mix of Red and Blue. All of us see our Congress in gridlock, and in this petition we call for compromise where both sides work to protect and champion the other's imperatives while sculpting legislation that works, without refusing to participate, to cover broad interests for the good of the Nation.

I think that it is time we take back our rights as United States Citizens and let the people in office know that we do not appreciate the way they are handling things. They are suppose to be working for us but I do believe that they have lost sight of that concept, so we have to remind them by this petition that we are not going to stand for our voices not to be hear.

The children of the U.S. and British Virgin Islands have strong voices that need to be heard by all adults. They want a good education, they want a safe environment to grow up in, they want the ability to support themselves when they grow to adulthood, and all Caribbean Islanders want the ability to remain on their home island, if they choose. So many must move to other islands and countries, away from their families and friends, in order to work to feed their families. It's time to pay attention. Represent!

A recent article in The New York Times (http://tinyurl.com/nytimes-amgen) reported on a provision that was tucked into the “fiscal cliff” deal exempts a specific class of drugs from government controls for two years. That exemption will cost Medicare, YOU, nearly $500 million. Ironically, the deal was introduce by Senators McConnell, Baucus, and Hatch, known for their desire to reduce government spending, are known to have received campaign funding from Amgen through its political action committee. Amgen is the same company that had pleaded guilty to marketing an anti-anemia drug illegally and agreed to pay criminal and civil penalties of $762 million, a record settlement for a biotechnology company. The one-paragraph bill was introduced by Peter Welch (D-VT) (http://tinyurl.com/welchbill) and is co-sponsored by Richard Hanna (R-N.Y.), Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.), and Bruce Braley (D-Iowa).

The over payment of American tax payers for government services.

The Michigan Republican Party is considering a cynical plan to divide Michigan's votes in the electoral college. This is nothing more than a obvious ploy to game the system and elect candidates which the GOP can't playing by the rules.

Other states have done this and I have heard that Michigan is considering it. In cases where it has been done it has given Republicans a big and unfair advantage. I don't want that to happen iin my state.

Requiring members of Congress to obtain their own private health insurance, and no longer live of the Dole, would equal the insurance playing field and open to Universal Health Coverage at a much reduced cost to all of us.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's aka Drones) should only be used with a warrant and should be unarmed within domestic U.S. air space unless there is an international or terrorist threat. This needs to happen in this session as the technology is ahead of the current laws. Reports have shown that UAV's have been flown over the Houston area for unknown reasons.

Dear Wisconsin citizen - The Wisconsin state legislature is back in session and facing a packed agenda, including workers' rights, the budget, and Scott Walker's plan to rig the electoral college in future presidential elections. Citizens of Wisconsin need to make their voices heard on this and many other issues in Madison. It is urgent that you act now before this issue is decided!!!
