• Boycott Political Ads
Since the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Citizens United, vast sums of money are being poured into election campaigns, particularly the presidential one. Most of these funds are supposedly used to purchase political advertising, particularly television spots. Passing a constitutional amendment to remove big money from politics will take many years, even if proponents are successful. However, voters can choose to boycott all political advertising, publicly acknowledge their stance and encourage others to do the same. This petition is actually a statement by individual voters that they will use the mute button on their television remotes whenever a political advertisement appears on their screens and refuse to consume printed and radio commercials as well. If this "boycott" eventually attracts the public attention of even a small percentage of voters, the effect of campaign contributions should be substantially reduced as media outlets, politicians, and corporations react to this citizen action.

  • Governor Romney: Show more tax returns to the American People.
Banking with off-shore banks; where the identities of the depositors are secret, and/or the amount of money is secret, makes this person unfit for the office of President of the United States. Men and women put their lives on the line every day, yet Governor Romney is not willing to support this country with his fair share of taxes. The middle-class and the poor carry the tax burden of this country.

  • Make Congressional Committee Entrance Testing Mandatory
In light of news stories exposing individuals on the U.S. House of Representatives Science Committee delivering scientifically inaccurate statements, like Rep. Paul Broun's claim that the earth is only 9,000 years old, I believe that it should be necessary for a member of a congressional committee to have to pass an aptitude test on the subject matter covered. For example, a senator vying for a spot on the Finance Committee should have to pass an exam on economics at the level one would expect a committee member in that standing to have.

  • Protecting Our Vote
This election has proven how informed we must be to elect a candidate. We have a wealth of information in the world that's already conflicting, but we should not and cannot accept candidates from either party that tells falsehoods or misleads those empowered to vote. It's vital and should be a REQUIREMENT that their stances be true, true shifts in views changes, not for political reasons. We need to make sure we ELECT the best person for the job based on truth and credentials so we do not endanger our future or our right to vote. We are calling for the requirement of fact checks for political ads before running and during debates to help educate and protect voters and our country.

  • Mitt Romney please release 10 years of tax returns.
Mitt Romney needs to release 10 years of tax returns to the American people to show how much he paid in taxes and whether he received amnesty from The IRS. We need this information to be an informed voter.

  • truth in advertising for any political candidate or party
We have truth in advertising for businesses. Something as important as running our country, we allow our politicians to lie and mislead the public over our airwaves. Special interest groups can lie about political issues over the public airwaves. We have the right to expect truth over our public airwaves.

  • WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE
To pass a national law/amendment that none of our elected representative serving in government should receive a retirement, or health care benefits, that is better than what the citizens of the United States receive when they retire. If such an amendment was added to our Constitution it would give the Congress and Senate the incentive to save Social Security and Medicare. This is one item every voter would agree on, except politicians of course.

  • Stop Paying Politicians For Ignoring Your Needs
Elected politicians ignore constituents - you/family/community - to misuse their position/influence on other agendas. I'm sickened by allegiances (sweep aside sworn duties in a Republican pledge to Norquist) & other projects when constituents' needs are ignored. Voting them out is slow/costly! NO PAYCHECK EACH TIME THEY DON'T WORK FOR YOU!

  • Election Advertisements
It is a terrible waste of money, resources and time regarding the amount of advertising and campaigning that is done before any election. I believe it should be illegal to advertise or campaign more than 90 days prior to any election.
