I live in a city where a relatively unknown rich man spent millions of dollars to campaign to become Mayor. He won. I am tired of rich people, or those who can gain the support of rich people or corporations, buying their way into office. SNEAKY LITTLE TAX-HR4646 JANUARY 1, 2013, THE US GOVERNMENT WILL BE REQUIRING EVERYONE TO HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT FOR SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS....WONDER WHY? BANKS GOT BIG USING OUR DEPOSIT & TARP MONEY. THEIR SERVICE CHARGE FEE HAS GONE UP RIDICULOUSLY AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY TREAT US LIKE 3RD CLASS CITIZEN AND NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE US FOR USING OUR OWN MONEY. This is a 1% tax on all transactions at any financial institution - banks, credit unions, savings and loans, etc. Any deposit you make, or even a transfer within your own bank from one account to another, will have a 1% tax charged. If your paycheck or your Social Security or whatever is direct deposit, it will get a 1% tax charged for the transaction. Keep your eyes and ears open, you will be amazed at what you learn about number of ways you are taxed. if you receive a refund from the IRS next year and you have it direct deposited or you walk in to deposit that check, you guessed it. You will pay a 1% charge of that money just for putting it in your bank. Remember, any money, cash, check or whatever, no matter where it came from, you will pay a 1% fee if you put it in the bank. Some will say, oh well, it's just 1%. Are you kidding me? It's a 1% tax increase across the board. Remember, once the tax is there, they can also raise it at will. And if anyone protests, they will just say, "Oh,that's not really a tax, it's a user fee"! Think this is no big deal? Go back and look at the transactions you made from last year's banking statements. Then add the total of all those transactions and deduct 1%. Still think it's no big deal?

Getting the congress to do their job!

Serving in our Congress is an honor, a privilege in itself in earning the trust of the American people to fairly and completely represent them in the theater of our democracy.

I believe that Congressmen need to live by the same rules that the rest of the citizenry live by and without special pensions. It certainly would give them more impetus to fix things like social security and insurance if they had to live by these broken systems like we do!

We have fallen under the control of a Republican/Democrat monopoly that along with the corporate media has excluded participation by alternative parties, effectively controlling the electoral process.

We have a law dealing with truth in advertising. Yet, for the highest office of the country a person is allowed to lie, take speeches out of context and to actually re-write tex. You would not hire someone that lies on their resume, why would you hire someone that lies to you in the Media.
