    The congress and the Senate should be working on the Firearms Legislation. Firearms are only for killing people. No citizen should have the right to kill people. Only the police should be allowed to be armed. If NO ONE is allowed to carry guns, there is NO reason to carry one ourselves.

  • Gun control: Let the 90% speak
    The founding fathers created an amendment that allows us to bear arms. This amendment was created when single shot pistols and muskets were the prevalent firearm. It's funny how politicians choose to select what rights to pick and bring into the 21st century and which to leave in the 18th century. The right to bear arms was never intended to include assault rifles. We need to speak up and ban these firearms!

    Jeff Flake voted against the Gun Control measure though the majority of the people in this country want us to pass such legislation and go further in preventing gun violence in the streets. By voting "No" he is bending to whim of special interest groups and not to the will of the people. You have to ask yourself how many does the NRA have in their pockets and those are the representatives we have to root out and send home pakcing.

    The U.S. Senate recently failed to pass legislation that would have closed most of the loopholes in the present background check system. It appears that many senators were pressured to vote negatively by the gun lobby and other organizations. Considering the outrage expressed by the American people, who are overwhelming in favor of this legislation, we want new universal background legislation to be considered as soon as possible.

    Yesterday we and watched in dismay as our Senate voted against sensible gun control measures that the vast majority of the people in this country want and reasonably expected to pass.   • President Obama: Mandate background checks for gun buyers.
    It is obvious that in spite of the will of 92% of the people, including 78% of gun owners, Congress will not find the courage to approve background checks for gun buyers soon enough. The President, however, has the power to issue executive orders, and should at least consider doing so on bahalf of the vast majority of We, the People.
