Yesterday we and watched in dismay as our Senate voted against sensible gun control measures that the vast majority of the people in this country want and reasonably expected to pass. If you feel fed up with the gun lobby as well as the stranglehold the NRA seems to have on the Republican Party, please sign this petition calling for publication of all Senators who voted against gun control as well as the amount of campaign contributions taken from the gun lobby.

It is obvious that in spite of the will of 92% of the people, including 78% of gun owners, Congress will not find the courage to approve background checks for gun buyers soon enough. The President, however, has the power to issue executive orders, and should at least consider doing so on bahalf of the vast majority of We, the People.

The American people were told that the Manchin Amendment was a blatant violation of the Second Amendment without a specific explanation as to how. The American people were told that the Manchin Amendment would create a gun registry when it specifically received votes from Senators with great NRA ratings because it would prohibit creation of a gun registry. What were those who voted down the Manchin Amendment really thinking by voting no?

Bob Davis, a radio host on Twin Cities News Talk AM 1130 in Minneapolis, a Clear Channel station, said that he'd like to tell the parents of Sandy Hook victims to "go to hell" for infringing on his Second Amendment rights. Davis said, "I'm sick and tired of seeing these victims trotted out, given rides on Air Force One, hauled into the Senate well, and everyone is just afraid -- they're terrified of these victims. ... I would stand in front of them and tell them, 'Go to hell.'" He also stated, "I'm sorry that you suffered a tragedy, but you know what? Deal with it, and don't force me to lose my liberty, which is a greater tragedy than your loss."* To compare one's political views to the brutal and violent loss of a child is disrepectful and inhuman. This hate-filled talk is unimaginably painful for victims' families. Enough is enough: we have to start standing up against hate speech perpetrated by radio hosts and return to a landscape of decent speech and behavior toward our fellow Americans. Sensationalism, while it sells lots of advertisements, appeals to our worst selves and has no place in a time when deep divisions in our country require us to find common ground. Thank you pointless, ineffective Congress. You can't even pass background checks on gun ownership? Well okay then. The 90% of us that want it now have a plan. We, the undersigned, want background checks, we want assault weapons banned and we want Walmart, the largest seller of guns in the country, to help us make it happen. Cause if you don't - we won't be shopping at Walmart anymore. So give you a taste of what we, the majority mean, we will be boycotting Walmart this Saturday, April 20th. Go to Target, go to Kmart, to Costco, to Publix, to anywhere else for just this one day. Get a taste of who Walmart's actual client base is....Walmart can help us fix the gun issue in this country - or we will shop elsewhere....

Our Congressmen are supposed to represent their constituents. By voting "No" on a Senate bill proposing very watered down gun regulations measures--closing background check loopholes and creating a Commission to study and report on causes of mass violence, among other things--these democratic senators have willfully ignored the 90% of citizens supporting such measures as a common sense step. Instead, they seem to have caved to the NRA and its threats of its financial power. Tell the DSCC that we will no longer contribute to its coffers until it publicly withdraws support for Mark Begich (Alaska), Mark Pryor (Arkansas), Max Baucus (Montana), and Heidi Heitkamp (North Dakota).

Failure to pass the watered down gun amendment when 90% of the public was in favor is unexplainable and disgusting. The so called representatives of the people should be all censured NOW.

Last Friday 1130 AM Twin Cities News Talk radio host Bob Davis told the Sandy Hook victims to "go to hell" for supporting sensible gun control. This outrageous behavior should bring about a swift response from all Americans concerned with saving the lives of our youth.

90% of the american people favor some form of gun control or at least a vote on the issue. If the congress won't vote on an issue so favored by the people lets not buy them lunch or haircuts. Lets save money by making them either do their job or at least pay for some of the freebees.

I would like to send a huge "Thank You" to all of the U.S. senators that stood up and defended the constitution and my 2nd amendment rights by voting "Nay" on the gun control measures that were recently voted on in the U.S. Senate. These gun control measures would have done absolutely nothing to make our country safer. The only thing they would have accomplished would be limiting the 2nd amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.

Gun control and the election of real Democrats.

Shame on all 46 Senators--including 4 Democrats--who just voted against requiring background checks for gun purchases--something 90% of Americans support. Four months after the Newtown massacre, they are still kowtowing to the gun lobby instead of protecting our kids and families. Right now, we need to send a loud message to let these 46 senators know just how disgusted we are with their inability to put our children and families ahead of the NRA. Champions in the Senate are going to keep fighting for this bill and we need put every senator who voted "No" on notice: We're here, we know what you did, and we're going to hold you accountable.
