BYP100 Chicago is a local Chapter of the Black Youth Project 100, a collective of 18-35 year old Black activists dedicated to achieving freedom and justice for all Black people. We are joining the efforts of Project Nia and Decarcerate Illinois and urging all Illinois residents to call on our State Legislature to oppose SB1342. SB1342 is a policy that criminalizes Black bodies as the source of gun violence in our communities. It does so at the expense of holding gun manufactures and sellers accountable. It will lead to more Black people incarcerated and not get at the root cause of violence within our communities, which is lack of social, economic and political resources.

A convicted murderer should not have access to social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, etc. Law abiding citizens have earned this right. Shut down this disgraceful page (@JodiAnnArias) and stop her from communicating with the outside world as if she has done nothing wrong.

THERE IS A KNOWN CHILD KILLER THAT IS NOW ACCUSED OF SENDING PORN TO A MINOR WALKING THE STREETS OF FLORIDA. THIS PERVERTED MENACE HAS HAD FAR TOO MANY RUN-INS WITH THE LAW AND IT IS TIME FOR US TO DEMAND HIS ARREST FOR YET ANOTHER OFFENSE!

The number of unarmed civilians and suspects dying by the same people who are supposed to "protect" and serve is becoming unbearable. Police officers should get the maximum penalty for killing anyone who is unarmed.

Corey Stingley is my son, and our family wants justice and the people who murdered him put into prison for their crime. Corey was attacked by three adult male customers and murdered after he returned some merchandise he was thinking about shoplifting once confronted by the store manager about having the items in a bookbag. The defendants choked Corey to death after he returned the merchandise.

"It is kidnapping," said the girl's father, Lou Pelletier. "It's beyond any wildest nightmare that you could think of." The clinical psychologist known by the family says, "It's the most bizarre situation ... I've ever been involved with."

Politicians, Law enforcement, and many others enjoy absolute immunity from suit for their wrong actions that result in harm to another person or group of persons. This statutory immunity prohibits an injured party from seeking redress for injuries sustained as a direct result of the actions of the person who has been granted immunity under that law. Thus creating a class or group of select persons who are declared by law to be above the law and free from either prosecution or suit solely on the basis of their position or office. This blanket immunity by law directly contradicts the constitutional precept that "all men are equal," and cannot be allowed to stand unchallenged within a democratic society.

INJUSTICE! MY SON WAS MURDERED AFTER A PHYSICAL/VERBAL CONFRONTATION BETWEEN THE TWO. MY SON EXITS FIRST AND MR. JONES EXITS THEN SHOOTS HIM. HE RUNS FOR FIVE MONTHS AND 11 DAYS BEFOE BEING CAPTURED.

On October 25th 2013 my best friend, 33-year-old Shawntah Eierdam was murdered in Youngtown AZ by 39-year-old Jose Sotelo (who later turned the gun on himself). My friend was killed because Jose Sotelo, a former boyfriend of Shawntah's, because his obsession and rage when he found out Shawntah was hanging out with another man at her bosses house. There was a history of domestic violence and harassment by Jose. If there was an order of protection, Shawntah would probably still be alive today. I am proposing, the "Shawntah's Law", were an order of protection to be automatically issued if anyone is charged with assault or domestic voice (or similar) offense. And served by the arresting officer. This way the victim has automatic protection from the alleged attacker.

I have been told that you can't do anything to a person who is following you everywhere, drives back and forth at your work and sits outside where ever you are watching you. Your driving and look behind you and there he is. Calls or textes you way more then is needed. even follows your friends. Well I want to change the stalking law. A woman or man should not have to be hurt or killed for it to be illegal to do theses things. No one deserves to live their lives in fear because of a stalker.

My son was sexually abused when he was eight years old by a sitters son, he dealt with guilt and shame for 10 years but said nothing about this until he was contemplating suicide at the age of eighteen. By the time my son had the courage to tell what had happened to him,the statue of limitation had run out and he could not prosecute the person who did this. My son was robbed of his innocence and his childhood was destroyed, today he still has a hard time living a normal life. No child should have to endure what he did but even worse then this the person who did this should not get away with what he did. Please support this petition, it might be too late for my son but may help another child going forward.
