• Do not permit Trump's photo to be hung in the White House
As a mom I believe that my job is to lead by example in my words and actions. It is our civic duty to hold our leaders accountable for their actions. I do not believe that the 45th President deserves any place of honor or special recognition for the reason that he has divided this nation and incited insurrection.

  • Pro-Trump terrorists & white supremacists must be stopped
We are horrified by the violence pro-Trump terrorists and white supremacists committed at the U.S. Capitol and across Washington, D.C. last week, and the swarming of state capitals across the country. These were not peaceful protests but rather an outrageous attempt by a pro-Trump mob to use force and violence to overturn a free and fair election. There is no question that Donald Trump, aided and abetted by unprincipled Republican members of Congress, is responsible for this attack on our democracy -- both by inciting the violence and exacerbating the structural racism and bigotry that drives it. He made a dangerous situation even worse with his incendiary speech at his rally, tweets, and disgraceful video yesterday. That Trump supporters were able to breach the Capitol with relative impunity stands in stark contrast to the response we saw to the anti-police brutality protests throughout 2020 and Black Lives Matter demonstrations this summer, and highlights how deeply structural racism and white supremacy is woven into our society. We must remember Miriam Carey, a Black mom who crashed her car near the Capitol and was shot five times and killed by the Capitol Police. Every leader in this country must recommit to ending systemic racism, doing everything in their power to ensure the safety of marginalized groups of people, and continuous advocacy for equity and justice for every single person. This includes Congress impeaching President Trump, as well as the Cabinet and Vice President invoking the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office. → *Join us in urging Congress to impeach Trump immediately and for the Vice President and Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office ASAP.

  • Investigate Presence of White Supremecists in Philadephia Police Department
There have been credible reports that multiple terrorists showed their law enforcement badges as they attacked the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6, 2021. There is a well-documented presence of white supremacist ideology in police departments in the United States. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that at least one officer is being investigated by internal affairs as she was within the group that ultimately attacked the Capitol on January 6th. Any officer who harbors white supremacist ideology or supports overthrowing a democratically elected government is a danger to our city. We, as citizens of this city, have an obligation to each other to determine whether such terrorists are in the ranks of our law enforcement and expel them immediately. We have a heightened obligation to support and defend our neighbors who are targeted by these hate groups due to their race, religion or immigration status. None of us are naïve enough to think that this malignancy will disappear when Donald Trump’s term ends. This Petition therefore respectfully requests that the Office of the Mayor of Philadelphia, Philadelphia City Council and the Office of the District Attorney of Philadelphia conduct a thorough investigation of the Philadelphia Police Department, including reviewing social media accounts and attendance at rallies for Donald Trump, in order to identify and expel any member of the police force that harbors white supremacist ideologies and/or poses a threat to our democracy by supporting insurrection against our federal and state governments. Doing so will advance our public security and help to repair the fractured confidence that many of our neighbors have in the police department’s ability to equitably and safely carry out the important role it plays in our daily lives.

  • Restore the Integrity of Our Skyline, Remove the Trump Sign
The assault on January 6th, 2021 to our Nation's congress and our Capitol Building was an aberration, and a direct threat to our democracy. This violent attack was instigated by Mr. Trump and Mr. Trump Jr.. The rioters attempted to destroy the institutions that make us the strongest democracy in the world. These rioters displayed Neo-nazi, racist, and fascist symbols. As more footage of the incident is brought to light, we all are witnessing the violent nature of the groups that forced themselves into The People's House. A police officer was murdered and four other people died in this violent event. It is one of the darkest days in the history of our country. We must make sure that his name is not glorified in any way, because if we do not act we will have normalized the behavior Mr. Trump and his rioting mob of followers displayed. We Chicagoans and Americans ask you to do what is in your power to remove the sign that is now a stain to a city we are proud to call home. Thank you.

  • Demand Elected Persons Take a Stand for or Against Insurrection
On January 6th, 2021, Americans witnessed a violent attack on the United States capitol by a menacing group of white supremacist insurrectionist Trump supporters. These domestic terrorists preplanned their attack with the full knowledge and support of some elected persons including the President and, in some cases, their participation. The group committed murder, assault, destruction of public property, menace, and national security breaches, and other state and federal crimes. The menacing Trump mob also indicated intentions to assassinate the Vice President and other elected officials and to abduct democrats with unknown intent. Some brandished flexicuffs intended to restrain lawmakers, others erected a gallows and chanted, “Hang Mike Pence!” The violent riot revealed a disturbing failure of security that put America’s entire seated government and many national treasures in peril. From some perspectives, it seemed as if parts of law enforcement were complicit in the siege, and subsequent to events, certain individuals have resigned their law enforcement positions. Additionally, it appeared that the Trump administration refused to deploy the National Guard and in the very least that there was a lengthy delay in approving their deployment while the entire congress was holed up in their “safe place” in the capitol in fear for their lives. Prior to this assault on democracy, the insurrectionists participated in what was largely a lawful protest attended by The President of the United States who spoke to his followers along with other speakers. Ending his speech with a falsehood, Trump told the angry crowd that he would go with them to the capitol. The speeches delivered at the protest incited the protestors to march directly to the capitol at the behest of the President and others and to attack anyone they encountered in or around the capitol building. Quick thinking compelled brave staff inside to stack furniture in front of entryways which gave congress time to flee to safety before entries were breached and chaos ensued. Of course, Mr. Trump did not go to the capitol but instead watched the unfolding violence on television, reportedly with relish. This “Storming of the Capitol” as it was called was an open secret, broadly discussed on social media, Instagram, Twitter, and others. Apparently, additional attacks are already planned, some say for January 17th, 2021, others for January 20, 2021. The President was aware of and participated in discussions of the storming of the capital and encouraged people to attend and participate. Today our country is under a siege of duplicity from the right-wing extremists. For too long, we have permitted lawmakers and others to look the other way while lies, conspiracy theories, and falsehoods, like the one that a fraud took place in our presidential election, are propagated. Also, White Nationalist groups have been permitted to organize and thrive unchecked under the Trump administration despite the fact that our National Security Agencies have deemed them one of the biggest threats to our National Security. Though there was no evidence of fraud and several courts decided against cases brought by President Trump and his supporters, hundreds of Republican representatives and some Republican Senators voted in support of claims of fraud, objecting to the certification of votes from Pennsylvania and Arizona, after the insurrection at the Capitol, likely validating such lawless violence. This petition is a demand that elected officials consider the events of January 6, 2021, and make a choice, in writing on the record, about whether they support such acts. This will give Americans a clear idea of the character of the people who hold office in their government and whether they will uphold the oath they have pledged to their country.

  • Call for Resignation or Expulsion of RI Rep. Price
Rep. Price has admitted that on January 6, 2021, he attended the pro-Trump riot at the Capitol. Incredibly, he subsequently tweeted, "Yes i marched to the capitol with 1 million peaceful patriots. Unfortunately ANTIFA /BLM infiltrated our peaceful movement and they got caught in the act.." His false, seditious and racist statements clearly show inexcusable contempt for the rule of law and disorderly behavior that must be punished to protect the integrity of our democracy. If Rep. Price's actions and words are not punished, the Jan. 6 capitol riots and violence will be encouraged and could happen again.

  • DA Lori Frugoli: Prosecute individual spreading hate in Fairfax, CA
What more evidence do we need than watching him place the stickers? See the video: - https://abc7news.com/society/bay-area-resident-confronts-man-putting-up-swastika-stickers/8262638/ Charge this individual with vandalism, trespassing and hate crimes. Bring him to court, in front of a jury of his peers. These threatening hateful acts belong adjudicated by the criminal justice system. Her explanation is unacceptable: “In this case, documentation of the acts did serve our community as it shed light on the conduct and let the individual know that such behavior does not represent our county." A vandal who sprays graffiti on private property is arrested, charged and fined. This act placing swastika’s stating “we are everywhere” on private property is both vandalism and perhaps a hate crime. Frugoli does our Marin community and Noah Mohan a huge disservice by deciding there is “insufficient evidence” to charge this person. If there is doubt, let the jury weigh in. The DA plans to hold a forum to “stop hate crimes and hateful behavior.” This person needs to be accountable and punished for these unacceptable actions. Restorative Justice would be an option, of course. More than ever, now, we need legal public actions to challenge hateful threatening gestures, not forums. Demand DA Frugoli explain her thought process AND prosecute.

  • Stop Funding Insurrection
On January 6th, 2021, a violent mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to block the U.S. Congress from certifying Joe Biden's election as President of the United States. Thanks to poisonous right-wing propaganda from Fox News and others, millions of Americans now believe the total lie that Donald Trump won the 2020 elections. There is zero evidence to support this propaganda, and U.S. courts have repeatedly rejected such claims. It is time to hold corporate advertisers and right-wing donors publicly accountable. We must stop their support for insurrectionist politicians and propaganda platforms that threaten the survival of our democracy.

  • Expel Senator Josh Hawley
Why is this important? TWO DAYS AGO, THE US CAPITOL WAS ON LOCKDOWN AS JOSH HAWLEY SIGNALED, WITH RAISED FIST, HIS ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE INSURRECTIONSTS, AND EVEN SENT OUT A FUND-RAISING EMAIL. HE, ALONG WITH TED CRUZ, PROMPTED REPUBLICAN LEGISLATORS TO STATED THEIR CONVICTION THAT CERTIFYING THE VOTES OF THE PEOPLE “IS A PROFOUND THREAT TO THIS COUNTRY AND TO THE LEGITIMACY OF ANY ADMINISTRATIONS THAT WILL COME IN THE FUTURE”. “EVEN AS TEMPERATURES ROSE AND EVEN AS TRUMP ENCOURAGED MASSIVE PROTESTS AT THE CAPITOL IN AN EFFORT TO PRESSURE LEGISLATORS, HAWLEY DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO DISRUPT THE CERTIFICATION OF THE LEGAL ELECTION. HIS ACTIONS HAVE INSPIRED • ARMED STANDOFF IN THE CAPITOL CHAMBERS • EVACUATING CHAMBERS • MEMBERS OF CONGRESS SHELTERING IN PLACE
