One in 4 kids in Maine is food insecure--but Shaw's Supermarkets has announced it is ending its food donation programs in Maine, just as the cold winter and holiday season is approaching. The Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program in Brunswick, Preble Street shelter in Portland, and Good Shepherd Food Bank are just a few of the agencies that have relied on Shaw's donation. By donating food that is not selling well or nearing the expiration date, grocery chains can help alleviate hunger and reduce food waste at very little cost to the company. Donald Trump is a racist who has made countless inhumane and racial remarks about minorities, treating them as if they are subhuman and as though he has no compassion for anyone who isn't of his own demographic. If Donald Trump is in office, he will make many enemies for us in the United States, ruining our safety and possibly our freedom as a nation. This man is narcissistic and senile and unless he plans to seek help and get medicated, he shouldn't be making it this far in the race to be president and he CANNOT BE IN THIS COUNTRY. KICK HIM OUT.

This Friday, December 11, Donald Trump will be the keynote speaker for the Pennsylvania Republican Party. Tickets to the event cost from $1,000 to $10,000. In light of Trump's recent unconstitutional call to ban all Muslims from entering the United States, we are demanding that the PA GOP rescind their invitation to Trump. If they do not, it means that they support Trump and his outrageous positions.

The Republican party must dump Donald Trump as a candidate and stop promoting his hateful, dangerous words and actions. Trump's idea calling for the ban of all Muslims in the United States is one of the worst ideas to come out of any candidate to run for President of the United States. This type of irresponsible statement is wrong-headed, inconsistent with our American values, and endangers our security. We are not at war with Islam. We should work in partnership with Islamic nations and patriotic Americans from all religions to take on the terrorist group known as ISIS. We should embrace citizens of every religion and recognize the partnership that we are united in taking on terrorist forces.

April 8th, 2015, Al Shabaab terrorist group stormed the Garissa University in Kenya, Africa and killed 147 innocent students. Please sign the petition to rename that university from Garissa University to Garissa Memorial university as an honour to those who died and as a reminder to the future generation of what had happened.

I am a teacher of 30 years, who has seen the effects of staying up late and eating too much candy the night before. Many students come to school either wired on sugar or sometimes even absent due to staying up late on Halloween. Also, many working parents have difficulty getting home from work in time to get their children ready for the Trick or Treating hours.
