  • Revise the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP)
In 2010 we refinanced under the HARP. Since then mortgage rates have dropped significantly, however per HARP's rules we can only refinance once under their program. There are many responsible homeowners like us who deserve a break. Allow us to refinance more than once.

Because we think it's unfair that kids can't express their feelings and be free! We are two 9 (almost 10) year old girls and we want our own TV channel, but the process is hard. Kids should be able to have their own stations, so kids should be creative! What if a kid has a lot of news stories or wants to start a talk show? Kids should be able to set up stations. • Fire GOP Staffer Elizabeth Lauten
Elizabeth Lauten's thoughtless, cruel, vile and hateful comments directed towards two young teenage girls and their appearance is just wrong on so many levels. Young teenage girls all over the country are struggling with peer pressure and scrutiny in regards to how they look and dress. No one deserves to be attacked in the cruel manner Sasha and Malia Obama were by this "professional" woman that is supposed to be a "Director of Communications." When did attacking young girls become okay? Fire her now! Stand up for Sasha, Malia and all young girls who are judged and attacked based on their appearance alone.

  • We support our armed forces and veterans
We support our nations armed forces and veterans. Congress is quick to send our armed forces in harm's way but slow to take care of their needs. They look for every opportunity to cut education, jobs for veterans and their retirement. We demand our elected officials stand up for our active service members and the veterans of this country.

  • stop pit bull ban
Even though dogs technically don't have rights in the government, this is discrimination against a specific breed. It's either all dogs or none. My house recently burned down and I was forced to look for a place to rent, and in Muskegon that's nearly impossible. I have been forced to get rid of my baby pit bull, Amber. She is the cutest, most loving dog I've ever met. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. But no renters care; the second they hear 'pit bull' they deny me. Help me not only change laws of discrimination, but change people's hearts and expand their minds.

  • Flag Desecration Ammendment
This proposed amendment was intended to give Congress the right to enact statutes criminalizing the burning or other desecration of the United States flag in a public protest. Proponents of legislation to proscribe flag burning argue that burning the flag is a very offensive gesture that deserves to be outlawed. Our flag represents the struggle our nation went through in earning and paving the way to freedom and no American she disrespect it so blatantly by publicly burning it. This is not a freedom of Speech issue, as protesters could come up with other ways to show their displeasure. Help me make it illegal to destroy the national symbol of our nations freedom!

  • Cleveland.com: Apologize to Tamir Rice's Family
Black victims of violence, particularly those who fall at the hands of police, are routinely painted explicitly or implicitly as somehow deserving of their fate. This has got to stop. Tell cleveland.com (@clevelanddotcom) to apologize for including the criminal record of Tamir Rice's father in its coverage. *Update* I'm unable to change the specified target at this point, but the petition will be sent to Chris Quinn, VP of Content for NEOMG, who is overseeing the story coverage.**.

  • Affordable high speed Internet for all
I live in a small rural neighborhood and have been told by CenturyLink that we will never have high speed internet because it doesn't make good business sense. I am tired of sitting in the library parking lot so my kids can do their homework, or I can upgrade my computer or access my health care. Having access to high speed internet is essential. Without funding, the infrastructure will never be built and include all of us.

  • Stop the Eviction of The Peace House
The Peace House is a historical collective of community organizers dedicated toward individual, community, and world betterment projects. The house is used as a vehicle to transform individual lives and the community. Their projects include the Anti-Racist Action DC, The DC Free School, and the 30 year+ White House Peace Vigil. Our top priority is to keep the house open and the members in the house in order to allow their work to continue. Tell the DCRA that an internal temperature of 51.6F°, despite no heating unit available, cannot be "unsafe," and that being forced out because of the landlord, Ellen Thomas, failing to make repairs constitutes a wrongful eviction!
