• White Tights and Socks for Uniform- Girls
Making a change to the dress code that would make kids' and parents' lives easier, instead of more challenging, would be greatly appreciated. We've endured countless little changes to the uniform code over the past 6-7 years. Complying with the many changes while knowing there is little real return is frustrating, but we've done it. White socks and tights: that is all we're asking. We have been good with keeping up with the uniform merry-go-round, but we're getting dizzy and unamused after yearly, tedious changes. Since this change can only be an aesthetic one, we promise the girls will look just as adorable in white.

  • Guardrail on Mountain Rd Slatington PA.
I'm starting this petition to save the lives of motorist that travel along Mountain rd. Slatington, PA. I live on the property where we have had two young people die on this deadly turn . We have tried to get help from the township before but no one would listen, lets make them listen now. I lost a close friend to a car accident on this turn, I had to relive that same horror again today as another young person died. We have to do something to prevent future loss of life. May this serve as a memorial to all those who have lost their lives at this location. Please help us build a Guardrail.

  • Stand with Mahfar Tenants Coalition: Demand Safe, Lead-Free Homes
NYC is not effectively protecting tenants in buildings undergoing renovation! Earlier this year, residents of 102 Norfolk St. were subjected to lead levels roughly 3,000 times the EPA-mandated limit. Now reports from the NYC Department of Health have verified that excessive lead levels exist at 210 Rivington, a second Samy Mahfar-owned building. All tenants, especially children, are put at risk in these buildings contaminated with toxic lead. Although this is occurring in buildings owned by this landlord, we believe that it's happening in thousands of occupied buildings undergoing grossly mismanaged construction throughout New York City. Unsafe and negligent construction practices and lack of agency transparency must stop now. Safe and healthy housing is a human right!!!

  • eBay: Stop funding anti-clean energy group ALEC!
Several leading Silicon Valley companies that support action on climate change recently ended memberships in the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). These companies could no longer justify supporting a climate change-denying organization that is working aggressively across the country to block and repeal renewable energy and climate legislation. ALEC is even leading a charge to penalize homeowners who install their own solar panels, labeling them “freeriders.” Google, Facebook, Yahoo! and Yelp ditched ALEC in the last two months. Google Chairman Erik Schmidt told NPR that ALEC is “literally lying” about the reality of climate change before dropping its membership. But one company is hanging on: eBay. This despite the fact that eBay has taken strides to be an energy efficient company, and is working with other businesses to “pass meaningful energy and climate legislation.” eBay CEO John Donahoe recently said “we’re not with (ALEC)" on climate change. It’s clear that ALEC shouldn’t be supported by companies like eBay that espouse values that ALEC is working to destroy. Please join me in telling ebay to dump ALEC now! Thank you for taking action for our climate and kids.

  • The media needs to give daily attention to the crisis of veteran suicides
When something shames us, we, and the media prefer to ignore it, but difficult problems need constant attention or they get lost. When there is one tragic death causing protests, we see it in the news everyday for weeks, yet we forget that 22 American veterans are dying a tragic death EVERYDAY and it has been going on for YEARS! Are thousands of veterans worth the same attention as one or a few tragic urban killings? This is a national crisis deserving constant national attention. Our veterans in despair need the help that could come if we would prevent their plight from getting lost among all the other much smaller tragedies.

  • Release an American Girl doll with a Disability
I have had Autism since I was 1 years old, and I also have food allergies to dairy, nuts and peanuts. I love American Girl and all, but it's tough controlling yourself when your autistic. I want a doll that I can relate to. I love reading about how it feels like to disappoint your cousin (Kanani), how it feels to have stage fright (Saige) and how it feels to have a popular sister and you always mess up (Isabelle). Now, it's time I have a turn sharing what it feels like having Autism.
