During his tenure as a Senator from Colorado, Mark Udall has been a champion of government transparency: on privacy and government surveillance, secret law, torture, and drone strikes. Sen. Udall lost his re-election bid this November, which puts him in a unique position to carry out one final mission to advance government transparency. News reports have indicated that the Senate Intelligence Committee’s CIA torture report details not only brutal abuse the CIA perpetrated on detainees, but also illegal deception CIA officials conducted on Congress and other executive branch officials about the program in order to evade democratic and legal accountability. The CIA has been preventing the report from becoming public. This is information the public deserves to know—and there is a way to get it to the people without the approval of the CIA. In 1971, Sen. Mike Gravel, frustrated with attempts to make the Pentagon Papers public through ordinary channels, used a key provision of the U.S. Constitution to get the documents published. According to the Speech and Debate Clause, members of Congress have an absolute free-speech right on the floor or in committee—even if what they say includes classified information. [1] So Gravel—along with an aide—read the entire Pentagon Papers into the Congressional Record, which is published for anyone to read. Government transparency advocates are now urging Sen. Udall to follow Gravel’s lead and read the Senate intelligence committee’s torture report into the congressional record. [2] The worst punishment he’d face would be censorship or expulsion by his colleagues—but since he is out of office in January in any event, he has little to fear. Experiments on great apes are permitted only if they are absolutely necessary to improve human health, if no other animal should be used instead, and it is impossible to conduct studies on men for reasons ethical. Apes therefore are likely to continue to be used for research of vaccines against hepatitis C and the development of monoclonal antibodies. Studies on the behavior and genetics of great apes including chimpanzees and must obey strict clauses regarding their habitat and their conditions of detention. Thus, because of the need for primates (as men) to maintain social relationships, they should be kept in groups of at least 7 monkeys, with 100 square meters of space per animal and the ability to climb when they wish. The next fight for American animal rights associations will be with private laboratories and US universities, which still retain 350 chimpanzees for research.

Now that there is lacrosse at the middle and high school level, Clear Creek needs its own youth program to feed into those. Mtn Area Lacrosse has been an option in the past, but they are at least a 20 - 40 minute drive for Clear Creek residents. We need a program closer and more convenient for our families.

I have reached my limit with these racist slurs from this Gov. and other Republicans. This kind of denied racism inflames bigotry and prejudice, making it more prominent and acceptable in our language and culture. It needs to stop.

There is a War being waged against one of our most venerated, and cherished Holidays; Thanksgiving. A war to separate family members on a day in which to many people is the only day of the calendar year that their relatives gather together. A national day of Thanksgiving was proclaimed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, and proclaimed by both Houses of Congress on Oct. 6 1941 as a National Legal Holiday, not as a National day of Shopping.

Men and women returning home after serving their country in The United States Military are now being told they are not up to standards, and now are not allowed to serve their home state of Connecticut as State Troops. These men and women have sacrificed a lot in service to their country, only to return home and be turned away because of tattoos they received while on active duty. Tattoos are apart of military tradition and mean a lot to those who have served.

So many people need it for medical reasons, for rec this would help tag state so much it would lower crime rate. Most of the people in jail are there because of a plant that helps people. Tho also would create more jobs. 3/4 of the people have admit they smoke or had. There has been no deaths at all. Tabbaco cause millions of deaths each year, but yet legal??? Cannabis helps people and no deaths but illegal. Open you eyes and realize how dumb it is to have it illegal there are so much I can still talk about and so many people in the state of Utah would agree.

These 2 areas of the Statutes are a very grey area to be interpreted by the person or department looking at the application. Once a decision has been made by anyone in that department no one will try and overturn that person's decision. This will help clarify the law.

We are petitioniong the Probate Court to order an honest and full accounting from a successor Trustee, Verla Lofton-Sherman. Our claim is that Verla Lofton-Sherman has breached her fiduciary duty to both grantors, she has not kept accurate records/receipts of transactions made in care of one of the grantors or other expenses paid with trust funds, breached duty of loyalty to irrevocable beneficiaries, and violated Power of Attorney "self-dealing/converting real properties in her name and her son's name". Myself, Deborah Q. Washington, and Ollie T. Wilson's other nine irrevocable beneficiaries have not received an honest and full accounting from Verla lofton-Sherman, nor received our rightful 50% share of remaining assets of Ollie T. Wilson and Thelma G. Wilson's Revocable Living Trust impartially. We also do not want anyone else to get away with committing elderly financial abuse to our Aunt Thelma Wilson for the second time without being penalized.

Many deaths have occurred at intersections throughout the state involving drivers that have missed stop signs. Let's make it easier to see them by lighting them up. My wife and I are an example of a near fatal accident because of a driver who ran a stop sign back in 1998. My wife was 7 months pregnant at the time, and had to go through 2 and a half hours of brain surgery. Miraculously both made it through and are healthy today.

At a ceremony at the White House, Mr. Obama called Ms. Lynch a highly qualified, tough, fair and independent lawyer who deserved confirmation “without delay.” “She has spent years in the trenches as a prosecutor, aggressively fighting terrorism, financial fraud, cybercrime — all while vigorously defending civil rights,” the president said in the Roosevelt Room, where he appeared with Ms. Lynch and Eric H. Holder Jr., the current attorney general who has announced his intention to step down. “Loretta might be the only lawyer in America who battles mobsters and drug lords and terrorists, and still has a reputation for being a charming people person,” Mr. Obama said.
