• Bring Lifetime Fitness to the Tri-Cities!
The Tri-Cities area does not have a good variety of multi-use health clubs to choose from. We believe that Life Time Fitness would compliment the lifestyle in the area. Currently, residents must travel to Bloomingdale or Warrenville to belong to a Life Time Fitness health club. A Life Time Fitness in our area would receive strong neighborhood support! By signing this petition, I am in support of Life Time Fitness opening a health club in the Tri-Cities area. Thanks for taking the time to read this letter and our petition. St Charles, Geneva & Batavia IL have often been ranked as "Best Town to Live In" and "Best Town to Raise a Family" by Family Circle and CNN.

  • Don't Leave Poor People Out of the Minimum Wage Debate
As actors who plan on participating in the Fall 2014 show, we feel that this is not an adequate amount of time to prepare a production and will place undue stress on all involved.

  • Salt Lake County County: Show your love of baseball!
I am 11 years old and I love baseball. An indoor baseball facility would contribute greatly to the quality of baseball teams in Salt Lake City. To be a good baseball player, and to build good baseball leagues, players have to be able to practice year round. I am starting this petition with hope that someday Salt Lake City will have an indoor baseball facility for the general public.

  • Stop Puppy/Kitten Mills, Puppy/Kitten Pet Store Sales, and Over-Breeding!
I did a research paper on the links between animal abuse and human abuse and found through my research that animal abuse will almost always lead to human abuse. Many domestic violence, rape, homicide, and other human abuse cases first started with animal abuse. Many interviews of said criminals said they confessed to starting with animal abuse before starting human abuse. If we as a country are allowing these abuses outlined in this petition to happen in our own communities on a daily basis, what does that say about us? I also just have a great love for animals and don't understand the extent to which we, as a country, have let these problems get so out of hand. Please Don't Shop, Adopt!

  • Ben and Jerry's: Make a carrageenan-free ice cream flavor
I love Ben and Jerrys but, I don't like carrageenan. So please make an ice cream flavor without carrageenan. Carrageenan is a product derived from certain types of red algae, a seaweed. It is still an ongoing debate on whether or not it is harmful. It is thought that carrageenan is a cause of a range of cancers (especially gastrointestinal ones) and other illnesses like Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Even if it is safe there should still be a choice for those who refuse to eat it. So who better to take on that challenge than Ben and Jerry's?

  • 4/28/14 FEMA DEADLINE - SANDY
Residents best interest have to be protected. -----Original Message----- Thank you* I run a grassroots' effort to help resident, and provide some hope. Residents were traumatized by Sandy, information was slow in coming. So many were displaced, hard to get information to them all. People couldn't get to their homes for weeks and then only by Police Escort. Many effected retired and or elderly. Now, 18 months later, the residents are getting a feel for what they have to do. To protect their best interests, fix/rebuild their homes and move forward. Many settled claims. ALL "assumed" they got paid fairly. Yet, I have been following public adjusters, who are getting homeowners, already told they were paid fairly, more money. One homeowner wasn't paid for 3 rooms left out of their claim. These homeowners need time and are just finding the resources', to help themselves. The State, FEMA could have been much better at getting information out and should be willing to side on the resident's (taxpayers)favor! 90 days minimum would be a HUGE help! • FCC: Don't let “pay to play” break the Internet
FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler is about to sell off more control of the Internet to big corporations like Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon — the same corporations who have a near monopoly over our digital lives and businesses. Americans already pay way too much for way too slow internet service. In many rural and suburban areas, internet access looks the same as it did in the '90s, while profits for these giant companies have never been higher. Now Chairman Wheeler wants to allow big internet providers to charge websites for faster content delivery, setting up a pay to play fast lane. We don’t allow pay to play anywhere else in society — the Internet, the backbone of our current and future economy is no place to start. This means content providers like Netflix will have to pay ransom to internet providers to make their videos available at the fastest speeds. Meanwhile, content from other innovative websites and small businesses who can’t afford to pay will be drowned out. All of us — the Internet consumers — will lose. Sign on now to stand up for real net neutrality and protect the free and open Internet while we still can. Approved by Cole for Congress, http://coleforcongress.com
