• Foreclosure property tax
The lending institutions that are performing the foreclosures do not have to pay property taxes. They pass it on to us. I believe the businesses performing the foreclosures should have to pay the outstanding property taxes. This would make foreclosing less desirable so the lending institutions would work harder to help work things out. It would also help to bring down the housing costs as the foreclosing institutions would want to sell the foreclosed properties in order to not pay for more property taxes. This would also help the state by getting the taxes paid.

  • Kindly demand Dr. Ron Paul to step down from the 2012 election.
Despite rumors that Ron Paul is out of the presidential race, he is still planning to run on the ballots in November. Speaking as a fan of Ron Paul, there is no significant chance he will win the race in November (he has about 12% of the vote). The only purpose he is serving by staying in the race is taking votes away from Barack Obama. True Ron Paul supporters are more inclined to vote for Obama. This exact thing allegedly happened in the 2000 Presidential election, where Ralph Nader got George W. Bush elected by taking votes that would have gone to Al Gore. Please ask that Dr. Paul step down from the election, to keep another Bush presidency from happening.

  • Congress:Ban Cellphone use while driving
It has become obvious that talking and texting while driving has made the roads more dangerous for all of us. I have seen people driving with a cellphone in one hand and a cigarette in the other. How can they possibly maintain control of their car under these conditions. Please sign this petition and tell Congress to enact legislation that will help save thousands of lives every year.

  • Stop Harrison Street from Being Turned into a Historic District
Harrison Street is being considered by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission as a possible "Historical District." While I appreciate the ideals that the commission stands for, as one of many middle and working class homeowners in this area, this move would be a great financial burden. A resident of this block asked for two quotes during a recent home improvement. When he had siding put up he was told regular siding would cost $45,000. The Historic approved siding would cost $120,000! As a young homeowner with a 2-year-old child $45,000 would be hard enough. The latter price would be near impossible! We have kept this area stable and within the spirit of neighborhood without this NYC-initiated move. We homeowners wish it to remain this way. Let individual homeowners decide to apply for historic value for their own homes. Leave the fate of their property in their capable hands. We need your help! We constituents are calling upon you now to speak out on our behalf!

  • Keep Fireworks Legal in Utah!
There are some people who are working hard to ban Fireworks in Utah. Sign this petition to keep Fireworks and Aerial Fireworks a like legal! Let's keep America's greatest tradition Strong! Share this with all your friends let's make our voices heard! Some want to ban fireworks because of the fires. Most of these fires aren't caused by Fireworks. I believe Fireworks do more good than bad. Sure we'll have a few dry seasons, but banning fireworks isn't the solution. Education and some common sense is a better approach, than banning them all together. Other people want to ban fireworks because they feel it is annoying - Banning fireworks for this reason is the wrong approach.

  • Congress: give firefighters health insurance
I just found out that the firefighters we see on the news risking their lives to put out forest fires are federally employed. According to the Forest Service, because these firefighters are considered "seasonal", they receive no health insurance due to a congressional law which prohibits it. This is just plain wrong and should be rectified by Congress as quickly as possible.
