YES! We want the Montclair Firehouse Arts Center in our community. Make it happen! The 1927 landmarked Montclair Firehouse was once one of the shining jewels of Oakland. Constructed from steel-reinforced concrete, the building itself is in good condition. The City's application of a gunite material over the copper roof in the 1960's perfectly protected the interior. Two seismic studies have made very cost-effective recommendations for retro-fitting the building. The MFAC Nonprofit has obtained current estimates for renovating the building, with all required City permits, and has submitted those, along with a complete Business Plan and Proposed Lease, to the City Real Estate Department, the Community and Economic Development Committee of the City Council, and Councilwoman Ramachandran with no response in 15 months. It is time to make The Montclair Firehouse Arts Center happen in this abandoned building. Public buildings should be used by the public. This one has been neglected and abandoned for 35 years by the City of Oakland. Such waste is shameful. The MFAC is a community-based citizen group with a proven track record of renovating an abandoned public building in Piedmont into The Piedmont Center For The Arts. Please help them give this same gift to our Montclair community, at no expense to the City. A beautiful Arts Center in a building the City has simply abandoned.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by nancy lehrkind

City Of Calera: Acceptance of Ridgecrest RoadThe group JRock Development, which originally submitted the plan for the two phases of this development, went out of business between 2008 and 2010. The remaining lots were foreclosed on and sold to a bank. They were then bought by a builder who finished building out the neighborhood. Ridgecrest Road was never completed and only has a base layer. No one has assumed responsibility for this street. We are banding together to request the city accept this street as a public street, perform an assessment, and perform any necessary repairs. The road needs to be properly graded, and the street floods during heavy rains. The city no longer holds the bond the developer had to get as part of the approval process. We are in limbo and asking our fellow citizens of Calera to help us get the City Council's attention and ask them to help working-class families in their community18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alan Rouse

Oglala Sioux Tribe Rapid City DistrictGranting voting power to the Oglala Sioux Tribe Rapid City District is important for several reasons: 1. Representation and Equity. Members of the Rapid City District are a vital part of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, and their voices deserve to be heard in decisions that affect their lives. Voting power ensures that their unique needs and perspectives are represented in tribal governance. 2. Self-Determination. The ability to participate in decision-making processes is a fundamental aspect of self-determination. It empowers the Rapid City District to actively shape policies, programs, and initiatives that impact their community, aligning with the broader values of tribal sovereignty. 3. Community Engagement: Allowing the Rapid City District to vote fosters greater engagement and involvement in tribal affairs. This can lead to more informed and inclusive decision-making, as a broader range of viewpoints and experiences are considered. 4. Fairness and Inclusivity. Granting voting power ensures that all members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, regardless of where they live, are treated fairly and equally. It prevents the marginalization of district members and promotes inclusivity in the governance process. 5. Stronger Governance. When all parts of the Tribe have a say in decisions, it strengthens the overall governance structure. It leads to more balanced and well-rounded decisions that reflect the diverse interests of the entire Tribe. 6. Cultural and Community Continuity. The Rapid City District plays an essential role in preserving and promoting Oglala Lakota culture and traditions in an urban setting. Having voting power supports their efforts to maintain cultural continuity and ensure that their community's needs are met. Overall, granting voting power to the Rapid City District is not just about representation—it's about ensuring that the entire Oglala Sioux Tribe moves forward together, with all voices heard and respected.25 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marie Zephier

Our Street (17th Ave) Is Not A Used Car / Long Term Storage LotPlease join the residents of 17th Avenue in saying we are NOT okay in allowing an endless car hoarding situation where we live. Tell the King County Sheriff's office that we NEED their help and want permanent action to resolve this issue. We are tired of feeling neglected, and the more we can shout that we need help, the better chance we have of seeing this change. We don't deserve to live in someone else's junkyard, we deserve to live in a safe and clean environment, and we demand action.29 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Trevor Knapp
