Elizabeth Warren's Recovery Plan for Generations to ComeThe response for handling the coronavirus outbreak has put a lot of responsibility on states. This needs a Federal response way beyond the ability of any one state. It is the Federal government who can take critical steps to ensure we gain control over this pandemic. Right now our Healthcare system is stretched to the brink. Frontline Workers are walking into dangerous work conditions. These are healthcare workers, transit, grocery, janitors, childcare workers, domestic, delivery, and food processor workers. They do not have proper protective gear, and are not being compensated for working in unsafe conditions. And if they aren't safe, we aren't safe. Huge portions of communities of color are being more hard hit than any other communities. Many of these communities already have high incidents of compromised health and live in communities that are economically devastated. This crisis will widen that gap if we don't make structural changes. We are at an unemployment rate near Depression Era levels. Debt is going to mount high for workers and students if we don't' make large scale policy changes. This is why this isn't just a health issue. This is a moral issue, a medical issue, an economic issue, a legal issue and a voting rights issue. More people will die needlessly if we don't have an immediate federal surge in testing capacity. The Defense Production Act can ensure this happens. We need to manufacture tens of millions of tests, personal protective equipment, drugs that are in shortage, and any future vaccines and treatments when markets fail to do so. This dramatic surge is critical not only to test the sick, but test persons who appear to be healthy but may be asymptomatic and keep detecting it in the population and identify hotspots. This plan is asking for suspending consumer debt collection, moratorium on eviction and foreclosures, stop utility and water shutoffs, student loan debt cancellation, free healthcare for persons who have none, increase Social Security and Disability Benefits. Passage the Essential Workers Bill of Rights that will provide paid family and medical leave, give workers PPE to do job safely, give hazard pay, and all workers kept on payroll even if the need to stay home. Pass federal price gouging and conflict of interest laws. Require full disclosure of lobbying. Lastly, adopt mandatory reforms to ensure everyone can vote safely. Medical Needs, Economic Needs, Protection of Frontline Workers and Workers, Laws to Protect us from Carpetbaggers, Protection of our Voting Rights. These are all the Moral Issues of our time. Tell Congress to take the right path to recovery and a better future for us and future generations by signing Senator Warren's Coronavirus Recovery Plan.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pat Watson

Require masks for everyone who works with our foodFood is the one thing we must leave our homes to get, so food stores are the most likely places for us to pick up the coronavirus. Anyone can have Covid-19 and be asymptomatic. The virus is aerosolized into the air on our breath and yet none of the cashiers or packers at the local grocery store is wearing a mask.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary Thomas

Feed our ChildrenThe Coronavirus Pandemic has shined a bright light on food insecurity, and the fragility of our community. During these times, Community Organizations have banded together to deliver meals to children within the Kingston City School District, with more children needing meals on a daily basis. The Kingston City School District needs to take a bigger role in feeding our community.95 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rise Up Kingston

Justice for Native PeoplesAmerican Indians and Alaskan natives are among the most impoverished and marginalized groups in the United States. Their tribes have often been decimated by the spread of infectious diseases. The coronavirus has caused major problems for indigenous peoples. Because of treaties, the Federal government is responsible for protecting the health and safety of American Indians and Alaskan natives. The year 2020 marks the 400th anniversary of the establishment of Plymouth Colony. What do Americans want to celebrate on Thanksgiving Day?121 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Robert Murphy

Have Donald Trump arrested for his crimes..I;m a concerned citizen who cares about these people, and what he's doing is a felony. The Hospital staff is scared of dying due to The Corona virus, and the hospital staff members walked out of the hospitals and protested that they medical supplies and equipment real bad, and Donald Trump lied that there's a low supply of it until The news media showed that Donald Trump has lied to us and there's stock piles of medical supplies and medical equipment in the ware house, and won't let the hospitals have them right away that'll cause more deaths against the patients and the staff. Which is illegal, and it's a felony!29 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Wayne Tubbs

Governor Ducey: Shut Down Arizona's Golf CoursesI live on a golf course and see people daily who ignore the social distancing guidelines. I contacted our golf club's manager and was told all they can do is recommend safety measures and that the golf course cannot enforce these safety measures. I was also told that they had no plan to shut down in the future and would stay open, basically, because they could. Golfers are sharing golf carts and congregating in close proximity to each other at tee boxes and on the greens in clear violation of all that we have been instructed to do by the CDC and by our own governor. People who ignore social distancing recommendations are a health risk to us all. Since the golf courses themselves will not enforce, they must be shut down. The people and businesses who ignore social distancing and stay at home orders are irresponsible and short-sighted as is our Governor who has given his blessing to this. We are further at risk because the golf courses are open. Shut them down and save lives.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Patty Snyder

Don’t Silence Voters: Let Everyone Vote from HomeWe need to be able to make voting easier and more secure, especially during this public health crisis. The long lines that have plagued recent elections, as well as the touch screens and crowded polling places, are now dangerous. We cannot let the pandemic shrink voter turnout. In addition, voting by mail provides a paper trail at a time when election security is increasingly at risk. While several states have already expanded their vote-by-mail options, we would like to see every state — and the federal government — pass vote-by-mail legislation so that all citizens, no matter where they live, can safely vote in November of this year.553 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Ann Wertheimer, chair, American Voices Abroad Berlin

Our Healthcare Workers are being TraumatizedFirst Responders, Physicians, Nurses and all support staff are being exposed to psychological trauma as they respond to patients with Covid-19. Every day they face multiple traumatizing experiences: inadequate medical supplies making it impossible to render the care they were trained to deliver, personal physical danger, relentless hours, separation from their families and in some cases having to make desperate moral choices about which patient receives treatment. They have not been prepared for this onslaught, level of exhaustion and depletion. The authorities have not seen fit to provide training on handling extreme stress nor have the authorities seen fit to offer stress debriefing which has been shown to lessen the damaging effects of trauma. Our first responders and healthcare workers are suffering psychological and moral wounding as they try to save us. Past studies after SARS demonstrate that a significant percentage of them will develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result. This will likely be debilitating for many of them, their families and will impact our entire healthcare system. We can do better. We can back up the people who are putting their well-being on the line for us by demanding they be provided with well researched on-site training and support. Tell Alex Azar to stop taking advantage of our sisters and brothers who are trying to take care of the desperately ill. Tell Alex Azar to use his authority to demand they be supported and cared for right now.120 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Peter Sternberg

Connecticut petition for universal vote-by-mail program for the June 2, 2020 Primary ElectionI am the Reverend Dr. Daniel Schlorff, advocate for voters' rights and ballot access activist for over 20 years. While I have agreed to run for CT State Representative (HD90, Wallingford and Cheshire), I'm also concerned that the voters of my district as well as voters all across the state will have to choose between risking sickness during this pandemic vs. not being able to exercise their voice in this year's election cycle. Several states have already successfully enacted a vote-by-mail program, including Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, California, and Hawaii -- and these states are seeing a higher voter turnout as a result. That's why I'm asking you and all voters of Connecticut to help me tell Governor Lamont and Secretary Merrill that the voters of Connecticut want an executive order and enactment of a universal vote-by-mail program instead of the in-person Primary Election scheduled for June 2, 2020. Furthermore, should either the State or Federal governments not issue an all-clear in advance of the General Election on November 3, 2020 , we will once again urge them to enact the universal vote-by-mail program, to continue until all voters are safe to leave their homes and enter the voting booths without extreme risk. Sending this petition is the only way to send a message that is loud and clear, that we want to prevent voter disenfranchisement this election year while also keeping Connecticut voters safe from others and others from them. Thank you for signing this petition!147 of 200 SignaturesCreated by The Reverend Dr. Daniel Schlorff

CONGRESS: Get to work and lead us through this crisisThe Coronavirus pandemic is a crisis unlike anything that Americans have ever experienced before. Our hospitals are overwhelmed. Our people are dying. Our neighbors are losing their jobs, struggling to pay rent and bills, and scared about the future. At a moment like this, we need leadership. We need our government up and running and responding to the crisis as it unfolds. But, right now, Congress is in recess until April 20. It’s time for Congress to get back to work and take up the legislation that will steer us out of this crisis. Without Congress, President Trump is stumbling through this pandemic, costing people their lives. We understand the health risks to members of Congress and that is exactly why Congress should change its rules so that members can work and vote remotely during the outbreak. In this era of technology, there is no reason that Congress cannot debate crisis legislation from each and every state across America and vote on rescue bills from the safety of their homes. Millions of Americans are working, keeping this country up and running. Congress must do the same. Sign this petition to demand that Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader McConnell support temporary changes to the House and Senate rules so that Congress can continue to address legislation that will end this crisis and save lives.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Isiah James For Congress
