• Stand up to against President Obama's proposal to cut Social Security benefits
As senior I struggle between a meal and medication that is needed for my disablitiy. From another report it was written; all reports I’ve seen, President Obama is going to propose a budget plan this week that is unprecedented for a Democratic President. It will propose a cut to Social Security benefits for seniors, veterans and people with disabilities. As a senior many of the elderly and disabled depend on their only means of income which is social security. Why take away our lifeline! Most of us would still be working today, but because of our disablity our jobs were taken away. We had to adjust to our monthly income. We are just a paycheck from living under the bridge. With this proposed cut it will become a reality!

  • No Social Security Cuts
This is about President Obama's proposal to change the way cost of living increases are calculated for retirees on Social Security. As a person with relatives who are dependent on Social Security, I am concerned that the proposed "chained CPI" would decrease cost of living increases for my relatives and other retirees and make those among the least able responsible for decreasing the deficit. This terrible idea should be rejected. The right solution is to increase the Social Security wage base, so that the burden of deficit reduction doesn't fall on those least able to pay.

  • Protect Earned Benefits
I depend upon disability benefits to survive. I used my once generous savings account to pay bills until my disability benefits were approved. Cutting disability and earned benefits means it becomes impossible to buy food, medicine and pay my bills. Please don't punish me for being disabled.

  • Stop the Social Security Cuts
Tell President Obama to leave our Social Security alone. It does not belong to the United States government, it belongs to the citizens of this country who have slaved at their jobs and paid into it. If the United States government cuts Social Security or the cost of living adjustments then they should be sued for stealing money from the people who voted them into their offices. They are supposed to be working us (the People), not us working for them. Take a stand on making the rich pay their fair share in taxes, not cutting Social Security, and cost of living adjustments. I remember not to long ago, that every year we all got cost of living raises, and when they stopped coming is when our economy changed and started going downhill. Please stop trying to cut the throats of the only people who keep this country keep going. It is time to wake up and smell the coffee, people.

  • Do Not Cut Social Security
President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs. If the President insists on pushing these cuts, then it's up to Democrats in Congress, including New Jersey Rep. Donald Payne, to say no.

Stop any cuts to Social Security: I have rail road retirement I have paid dearly into for 38 years far more then ones who paid into SS. When SS STARTS cuts then it will effect money I paid into rail road retire ment. The president said awhile back his poor mom on SS and that one thing he not cut. - Maybe high people in office needs to start cutting first on thier big retirements. Most people getting 800 to 900 on SS. My God can you make it on that? And then cut it even more. And Obama care who knows. It was to make our lifes better but think it will not help the poor & elderly .

  • Do Not Cut Social Security
Rep. Paul Tonko, I will be 57 years old in one month and have been paying into social security all my life. Social Security is very important to me to be able to retire and to pay future bills. Social Security should NOT be a target of cuts or by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. The goverment should stop raiding SS to pay for anything else. Thank you.

  • Save Social Security
Please keep Social Security for those who are baby boomers. We are counting on it. I live on a limited pension from 38 years of teaching. In my retirement planning I factored in my Social Security benefit. To change it now at the beginning of my retirement is unconscionable.
