  • Do not make cuts toMedicaid or Social Security
The elderly have contributed to social security during their working years. Telling them they have to take a reduction for something that is supposed to be there for them would be a real slap in the face to the elderly. Furthermore, the elderly barely get enough medical coverage as it is and any kind of reduction is totally unacceptable.

  • Protect the Middle Class in the Fiscal Showdown
The middle class, the hardest hit during this recession, is fighting for survival. We cannot, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, allow our elected officials to take away benefits for Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid. We must end the Bush Tax Cuts for the top 2% without punishing the middle class. We here in Boulder will deliver this Petition to our Congressional leader on December 10th. We will meet at Representative Polis' Office where we will hold a rally and deliver his Petition. Sign up here to attend: http://pol.moveon.org/event/events/event.html?event_id=136199

  • Flood relief in Port Monmouth NJ
For over a decade our community has been affected by severe flooding. During every high tide and full moon cycle we get at least a foot of water in our streets and yards. It is so bad that we have constructed our own barriers to put in front of our homes to prevent water from entering. We were promised a flood wall was going to be built in our area back in 2000 by Congressman Pallone, and nothing has been done to date. We need to get this project completed before the next Sandy!

  • tragic medicare penalties
when i was in my 20s i had health insurance thru my fathers business but when he retired and things changed i became sadled with a catostrophic medicare penalty of 110 percent. congress doesnt care. they just love keeping my social security money which i desperately need to live. i think they have taken 20000 dollars from me so far. they justify this by saying i cost them money by late enrollment. just the opposite. all that private insurance my father bought misguidedly saved the government a fortune. I only receive 537 dollars a month in social security. I am disabled and alone in the world. I need my money back to live in the world. I wish senator barbara mikulski and senator ben cardin and congressman dutch rupersberger would care enough to fix this nighmare

  • Fiscal Cliff: Protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, Fight For Tax Fairness
The middle class has been bearing the burden of our nation's economic struggles, we should not also bear the burden of the trickle down deficit. Our social safety net is sacred. Tax fairness is the American way. Investing in jobs and middle class wages is the true priority of the day.

  • Help Keep the Sullivan Square underpass!
On December 6th at 6:30pm a meeting will be held at the Charlestown KofC to to see if the underpasses,on Rutherford Ave should remain or be removed, and the city officials want to hear how the people in Charlestown feel about the surface option or keeping the underpasses. I remain firm to keeping the Sullivan Square underpass in place to alleviate some of this traffic congestion.
