• Lights At Skate Parks
I spend my afternoon at the Alameda skate park and by the time I get there I only have an hour to ride. Thats the same for other people too, if we had lights skate park would be used more, and would be letting people ride after dark.

  • Mayor Bloomberg Fix The Sandy Destruction
While NY'ers are living without power, in mold, and without a plan for recovery, Mayor Bloomberg is spending his time plotting to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid as the brand new Co-Chair of Fix the Debt, a gang of billionaires bent on destroying our earned benefits. A new report by the Institute for Policy Studies examines CEOs of public companies who have endorsed the “Fix the Debt” campaign. The report, “Pension Deficit Disorder: The Massive CEO Retirement Funds and Underfunded Worker Pensions at Firms Pushing Social Security Cuts,” finds that these CEOs, while calling for ordinary Americans to take cuts in Social Security and Medicare, are sitting on an average of $9 million each in retirement funds. Most are also running large deficits in their own employees’ pension funds.

  • Help our Troops
My brother is one of thousands of soldiers who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder after returning home from the front lines in Afghanistan. He, just like many other soldiers has not only had a hard time coming forward to reach out for help but has also received little to no help from the Veteran Affairs or the VA. Our soldiers need OUR help. Soldiers should undergo a mental health evaluation once coming home and again every six months until their military contracts are up. Along with, every soldier diagnosed with PTSD must receive therapy from either the VA or from an outside source at the VA's expense. The war doesn't end when they get home. It's our job to help those who serve for us.

  • 50/50 Custody Should Not Pay Child Support
I am a struggling single father that has 50% custody of my son and I am required by the state to pay $240.00 a month in child support, while his mother sits with no job and collects cash-aid, SSI, food-stamps, and child support from two different fathers of her two sons. I do not think parents that have 50/50 custody should have to pay the other parent to be a half time mother or father.

  • KEEP The SSI VAULT LOCKED!
Social Security should NOT be a Bargaining Chip in these Fiscal Cliff negotiations. It represents A LOT of Money and Republicans have NOT ONLY been Against SSI From The Beginning, they have Also been trying to Get That Money from Day One! SSI is a Separate Fund and has NOTHING To DO with The Spending OR Debt being stressed over. It Should NOT Be Included in the Fiscal Cliff Negotiations - Period!

  • Republican Congress: Stop playing with the lives of the unemployed"
People who have worked for many years and have found themselves unemployed have yet another hurdle to contend with as of December 29th when the unemployed in Illinois will learn that Congress has ended their rights to extended unemployment benefits.. It doesn't matter to Congress how long you've been in the workforce, that your families will suffer or that for many out of work, the EUCO8 is their only means for survival.. "If EUC benefits are re-authorized by Congress, IDES will notify unemployed exhaustees of any potential benefits" How dare people be subjected to such level of disregard ! This current federal law should be stopped in Illinois and worldwide. Please join us in Illinois to ask the President and Congress to put a stop to this deadline of unemployment denial occurring December 29th.
