• Save the Post Office
Hundreds of Post Offices are about to be closed. Why? Certain members of congress wish to see this service privatized so that they can make millions for their already rich friends. The working class is constantly under attack. Save the workers. Save yourself.

  • Central Florida Ignores Veterans Needs
Homeless veterans in the Tampa Bay area have asked Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties to allow a place where they can wash clothes, shower, receive mail, get phone messages, access computers for email and job applications. Most County and City governments work with the VA or non-profits to offer these types of day drop-in services. Also known as Veteran Resource Centers, they help homeless veterans to access resources and get off the streets.

  • Legally Occupy Chicagoland
In my ongoing search for stable housing, I realized that there are numerous vacant residential and commercial structures that could provide shelter and revitalize neighborhoods -- if they were inhabited. Instead, they stand empty, blighting their neighborhoods and mocking those facing housing instability. But there is no clearinghouse structure to make this happen

  • Raise the cap on SSInsurance tax to the full amount of money earned
Currently there is a cap on how much money people contribute in the Social Security set at some $150.000 People like Mitt Romney or Rush Limbaugh are done contributing on the 15 of January or the first paycheck. Those making less are paying all year long. Since this is insurance against poverty and old age and to make it sustainable and solvent for all contributors at all time and all people plus in the spirit of fairness we all rich and poor need to pay in all the time to the full extent of our income we insure.

  • Get New Yorkers the Medical Care They Need!
The storm is over but the healthcare crisis in New York is still unfolding – and likely to get worse. The response from city, state, and federal officials has been too little and too late. Urgent action and greater coordination are needed to help thousands of people in desperate need. Several of New York City’s critical care hospitals – Coney Island Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, and NYU Langone – are projected to be closed for months to come, making for a health hazard of epic proportions. There’s currently no Level 1 Trauma Center from 57th Street to the tip of Manhattan! Thousands of New Yorkers – in Staten Island, the Rockaways, Coney Island, and beyond – are still stuck in their homes with no heat, no electricity, and urgent, and unattended, medical needs. Many of these people will get worse the longer they go unattended. Children and seniors are especially in need of attention. Access to medication and medical devices is severely limited. We need to hold Mayor Bloomberg accountable for getting healthcare to New Yorkers who need it. Please sign this petition to demand that Mayor Bloomberg take immediate action to care for New Yorkers who have severely limited access to healthcare. Don’t let a natural disaster be followed by a public health disaster.

  • John Boehner: End Bush Tax Cuts For The Richest Americans
The American people (the 99%) have been messed with for too long. We need to demand that taxes be raised (back to Clinton-era rates) on the ultra rich. No cuts to important programs like Medicare and Social Security. The country is stronger when we the people are stronger.

  • Extend Emergency Unemployment Benefits
Unemployment rates are decreasing slowly yet far too many are having extreme difficulty locating employment along with family or friends who want and NEED to work to elevate the economy. We will be left out in the cold with no other resources to maintain living expenses or afford healthcare. Please speak out to have these benefits extended as they were previously for the 99ers and contact your state/federal officials ASAP so this can be addressed in the Fiscal Cliff Bill!
