• Senator Heller: Oppose the Nuclear Option
After unconstitutionally refusing to allow a hearing for the legal Supreme Court nomination of Merrick Garland, it would be even more despicable of Senate Republicans to invoke the "nuclear option" in order to remove the 60 vote threshold for Supreme Court nominations and to rush through Neil Gorsuch's confirmation. Such a nomination should never be rushed or forced through Congress, but it is especially inappropriate when the President who made the nomination, and his administration, are under investigation by the FBI. Senator Heller, we implore you to listen to the concerns of your constituents and oppose invoking the "nuclear option."

  • Stop Killing Wildlife in Colorado!
Wildlife Services is a federal agency that conducts predator control on private, public, and tribal lands throughout Colorado. Predator control includes shooting, trapping, snaring, and aerial gunning to kill black bears, bobcats, mountain lions, and coyotes. Lethal poisons and chemicals are also used for predator control, imposing a risk to public health and safety. Wildlife Services is expanding this work in an attempt to increase mule deer populations for hunting, although the best available science suggests that predator control isn’t effective. Western Environmental Law Center is a nonprofit, environmental law firm dedicated to defending wildlife in the West. Their expert attorneys are preparing to file suit against Wildlife Services about this matter.

  • Google: Stop funding Breitbart
After an uproar over placement of ads on extremist Youtube videos leading some of Google’s largest advertisers to walk away, the company announced this week that it would bolster its policies to address hate speech. But it doesn’t go far enough. Google Adwords is the largest and most prominent ad network on Breitbart, the alt-right ‘news’ site of Steve Bannon and his white nationalist followers. And the company still lets neo-nazi sites get away with incitement of violence towards marginalized groups of people. Recently, a self-proclaimed white supremacist stabbed a Black man with a sword in Manhattan and admitted to police that it was an intentional hate crime. This same disturbed individual subscribed to numerous white nationalist and anti-feminist Youtube channels. Over the past few months, the incredible grassroots Sleeping Giants campaign has led thousands of companies, including most major corporations worldwide, to blacklist Breitbart in their Google advertising campaigns. Breitbart is by far the most advertiser-blocked website of all time. And yet, Google continues to place advertisers’ brands on Breitbart by default. Not only is Google failing to protect its advertisers, it is also directly funding the most prominent white nationalist website in the world. This has to stop. We are calling on Google to remove Breitbart and other white nationalist extremist sites from its default advertising placement list and to completely remove these hateful sites from its ad services.

  • Mitch McConnell wants to change the rules
ACT NOW! We've learned that changing the rules of how appointments are made can undermine what is best for the people of this nation. Betsy DeVos is a perfect example of why our nation's leaders shouldn't remove the necessity of working together. Mitch McConnell isn't committed to working together. Show his true colors of divisiveness and partisanship by calling him out on his willingness to lead Judge Gorsuch's confirmation and blame it on the Democratic Party. Call your Senator and ask them to bring the nation's attention to Mitch McConnell's evil acts.

  • Hal Rogers: Host a Town Hall
Upon investigation, I have not been able to determine when Congressman Rogers last held a public town hall or if he has, in his 36-year tenure, ever held a public town hall. Town halls are a basic tenet of our democracy and as constituents, we are entitled to easy and public access to our elected representatives.

  • Make March 31st into César Chávez Day!
The Young American Dreamers know that our youth is inspired by the heroes we celebrate and are empowered by the history we teach them. Cesar Chavez, co-founder of the United Farm Workers, was a champion of the labor rights movement that included a rich history in Florida. His actions directly impacted Florida's agriculture industry as he organized its citrus and sugarcane workers in the fight to stop worker exploitation and pesticide exposure. While teaching everyone about Cesar Chavez and the history of the labor rights movement, it's important that we also highlight that he accomplished all this under the principles of non-violence. To learn more about the history between the UFW & YAD, please visit: www.YoungAmericanDreamers.com/cesar-chavez This resolution is dated as it was first presented to the State of Florida in 2015. • RCA Time To Count
I have worked for the USPS going on 16 years as a Rural Carrier Associate. I have been a faithful, hard working, dependable employee and all of the time I have in counts for nothing. I'm 47 years old now and am not sure when a full time route will come available. I'm asking for hours worked not years to count. This could benefit the company because it would cause older employees to be able to retire sooner and be replaced with younger lower paid employees.

  • Investigate EPA colluding with Monsanto
New documents were unsealed by a federal judge suggesting that "Monsanto worked directly with federal regulators to hide the health risks of and manipulate the science behind its best-selling herbicide, RoundUp." The documents suggested that Monsanto pressured Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials to not publicly release information on the cancer risks of glyphosate, the main ingredient in RoundUp, ghostwrote research for the EPA and worked with a senior official at the agency to quash a federal review of the chemical. Join me in urging the EPA's Office of Inspector General and your Member of Congress to investigate the EPA for colluding with Monsanto. • North Carolina Legislators: Stop HB 467
I have worked with the Rachel Carson Council for years to help people in North Carolina fight the harmful health and climate effects of massive waste from industrial hog and chicken farms. I was shocked and alerted our North Carolina members when HB 467 was introduced at the behest of the Chinese holding company, WH Group. It owns the Smithfield Corporation that has the largest number of polluting hog facilities in North Carolina. This bill is a blatant give away and protection for the Chinese and the big polluters who harm the people we work with across the state.

  • Create an Independent Redistricting Commission in Texas
The Lone Star State has been in the news a lot for our partisan maps that slice and dice cities into multiple State Legislative and Congressional Districts. Most recently, Texas is in danger of needing federal pre-clearance of district maps under the Civil Rights Act. We support the creation of a truly independent redistricting commission would shield Texas from federal oversight. It is the single most important step in reducing the divisive partisanship that is crippling our country. Non-competitive districts produce lawmakers who worry only about being primaried and have little incentive to cooperate across the aisle.
