  • Sessions must go; special prosecutor must be appointed now
The Washington Post just revealed that U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions lied under oath at his confirmation hearing about his own contact with Russian officials during the presidential campaign, when he was a foreign policy advisor to Trump. During his confirmation hearing, when asked by Senator Al Franken “if there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do?," Sessions replied, “Senator Franken, I am not aware of those activities … I didn’t have – did not have communication with the Russians.” The only way for Americans to be able to trust that our government can act with integrity -- to know that our top leaders aren't compromised by a foreign power, and to trust that the nation's top cop follows the law that he is duty-bound to enforce -- is for Attorney General Sessions to resign his post immediately and for his successor to appoint a special prosecutor to begin a comprehensive investigation of Donald Trump, his campaign, and his administration. Anything short of that is flatly unacceptable and puts our country's security, our free and fair elections, and our justice system at grave risk.

  • Enough is Enough! Independent Investigation on Russia NOW!
The American people deserve answers and now; not the partisan dusting under the rug that Trump’s congressional enablers want, but a true special independent investigation.

  • Conjugal visits for the state of INDIANA
Conjugal visits would help inmates who are married and help them to remain on their best behavior. It would help them to know what's important..keeping them out of trouble and close as possible to their partner for there would be something else for them to do and something to look forward too .. if they had conjugal visits being In Trouble would be the last thought on their brains.. they deserve to feel loved especially if they really want to change. I would highly recommend conjugal visits being in the state of Indiana for families to keep close and for inmates to stay on their best behavior so they can fulfill their needs and family needs.

  • Remove Judge Randy Stoker from the bench
NPR tells the bone chilling story like this ........ "A 19-year-old white man accused of kicking a coat hanger up the rectum of a mentally disabled black teammate received no jail time at his sentencing on Friday. Former high school football player John R. K. Howard entered a so-called "Alford plea," meaning he maintains his innocence while admitting a judge or jury would likely find him guilty. He was sentenced to probation and community service, and his conviction might be entirely dismissed at a later date." How is this even possible in 2017??? We have got to send a message to Judge Randy Stoker. Howard originally pleaded guilty to felony injury of a child and the original charge was sexual assault so how does this happen? The victim told the court that Howard sang a KKK song about lynching and taunted him about fried chicken and used other racial slurs. Two other teammates of Howard's also participated in this brutal attack and were not even charged. Now what do you think would happen if the races were reversed in this case? This is modern day slavery/Jim Crow behavior. We need Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden investigated for allowing this monster to walk on a case like this. He had the nerve to say "he hopes now the victim's parents can find some closure and peace with the sentencing." What???? We also want this unfit judge off of the bench for allowing this insanity to occur! Remove Judge Randy Stoker immediately before someone else's child is harmed by a predator he let back out on the street!

  • NO Sit-Lie Ban
On March 7th, the City of Fort Collins will be voting on proposed restrictions to sitting and lying down (beyond durations which are still undetermined) on sidewalks, benches, and planters within the smoking restricted perimeter of Old Town. In addition, it will restrict leaving personal items unattended within these locations (also beyond durations which are still undetermined). Although the creators claim it is a restriction on "behavior", and not targeted to any subgroup of people, it will clearly restrict behavior most associated with homeless people. This is not a black and white issue which should be solved with a ban or restriction, but a nuanced challenge with many sides and possible solutions. Many of these people are ill, dealing with addiction, or have fallen on hard times. Most are already struggling and living on the edge. Simply imposing restrictions is an inhumane approach to a challenge we all share. At the City's final public meeting on this (at the Aztlan Center), the terms and wording still hadn't been worked through. It was a work in progress, which the public wouldn't be able to have any further input on. We can do better. We have to do better. In the current political environment with its restrictions on immigrants and other populations, now is not the time for our open and reasonable city to impose further restrictions. Let's instead work creatively to find solutions which humanely addresses the challenges of the populations most affected, and in doing so, creates better outcomes for us all. Signatures of this petition will be delivered on or before the voting deadline above. Please share widely as there isn't much time. Honorable Mayor and City Council, please do not pass the Sit-Lie Ban or any variation of these. Now is not the time. This is not the way.

  • Trump: Stop Using Veterans and Military Families as Props
For those of us who have served in uniform, or belong to military families, there was nothing respectful about Trump's "tribute" to the widow of Senior Chief Owens. Instead, it was a loathsome and gut-wrenching moment - using a family's grief over a slain service member as a political ploy to shield himself from criticism, while refusing to take responsibility for his actions. During the 2016 campaign, myself and fellow veterans joined together to form Common Defense, an organization dedicated to fighting back against Trump's attacks on our most basic values. Now that he is in the White House, it is deeply troubling that Trump continues the pattern of using the military to push an agenda of hatred and division. We need to say loud and clear that we and our loved ones refuse to be pawns in Trump's game. Trump does not speak for the military community, and Trump knows nothing of the sacrifices we and our families have made. Trump's exploitation of Owens' death is just as unacceptable as his disrespect for the Gold Star Khan family during the 2016 campaign, and continues his long history of shameful insults to veterans, including POWs and Purple Heart recipients, as well as the countless Muslims, Immigrants, women, and people of color who served in uniform -- unlike Trump, who still only seems interested in serving himself. Of course the sacrifices of Gold Star families deserve to be honored, but Trump's speech was not a way of honoring Senior Chief Owens, it was taking advantage of a family's grief for his own political gain. This cannot be tolerated. Stand with us in condemning Trump's use of veterans and military families as political props.

  • NO Tax Abatements for Trump & Kushner in Jersey City
No future tax abatements should be approved to any developer with current or previous business dealings with Jared Kushner or Donald Trump companies. Tax abatements increase the property taxes I have to pay. They should be used to attract community minded companies and not those who have a history of buying political influence and fraudulent business practices.

  • Boycott Correspondents' Dinner to Protest Media Failure on Yemen Famine
It's not total censorship, but big U.S. media have downplayed the threat of famine in Yemen, and especially have downplayed the U.S. role in the war that is pushing Yemen towards famine, with hundreds of thousands of children facing starvation. Writing for Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, Adam Johnson notes: "A recent UN report on the ... near-famine conditions in Yemen ... has led to a rare instance of Western media taking notice of the war and its catastrophic effect. But missing from most of these reports is the role of the United States and its ally Saudi Arabia - whose two-year-long siege and bombing have left the country in ruins." [1] The White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 29 has become an annual ritual of celebrity-studded U.S. Big Media self-congratulation. [2] This is an opportunity for people of conscience to call out U.S. Big Media on its failure to report prominently, accurately, urgently, and persistently on the threat of famine in Yemen and the role of the U.S. and Saudi Arabia in pushing Yemen to the brink of famine. Urge Members of Congress and all people of conscience to boycott the White House Correspondents' Dinner by signing our petition. • Protect Indiana's right to peaceful assembly!
An important right that we have as Americans is the right to participate in our democracy by peaceful assembly. This right allows us to express our opinions and values. Republicans in Indiana have introduced legislation to deter peaceful protests. It us up to us, Indiana residents, to protect our right to peaceful assembly. We, residents of Indiana, ask that our governor and legislators reject legislation that restricts our right to peaceful assembly.
