• .@POTUS: Show How TPP Would Stop Keystone XL NAFTA Suit
One of the most controversial aspects of the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement is “Investor-State Dispute Settlement,” or ISDS - corporations suing governments in retaliation for laws or regulations that they claim reduce their profits. As Senator Elizabeth Warren wrote, "ISDS would allow foreign companies to challenge U.S. laws — and potentially to pick up huge payouts from taxpayers — without ever stepping foot in a U.S. court." [1] In response to criticism of ISDS provisions in the TPP agreement from Senator Warren, Senator Sanders, [2] and others, the White House promised to put "stronger safeguards" on ISDS in the TPP. [3] Now Canadian oil company TransCanada has announced that it will sue the U.S. government for $15 billion dollars under the ISDS provisions of NAFTA for rejecting TransCanada’s controversial plan to build the Keystone XL pipeline. [4] Carroll Muffett, President of the Center for International Environmental Law, said: "TransCanada has proven what concerned citizens have argued for decades – that the primary purpose of ISDS is to subvert democratic processes and the public interest, in the name of private profit. It has demonstrated to the citizens of the United States, and the world, why these provisions have no place in new trade agreements." [5] Urge the Administration to show Congress and the American people how its claimed "stronger safeguards" on ISDS in the proposed TPP would prevent the Keystone XL NAFTA lawsuit by signing our petition. • Water in Flint is poisoned with lead and the Gov. knew - Sign the petition to get Flint help!
In 2014, Flint's un-elected emergency manager switched the city from safe drinking water from Lake Huron provided through the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department to the polluted Flint River — all in an effort to cut costs. But the city failed to put in place the proper corrosion controls when it made the switch. The Flint River runs through a very industrial part of Michigan, home to a General Motors facility and DuPont chemical factories. The chemicals used to make the water "safe" made the water corrosive and it began eating away at the city's lead pipes. Flint's water is so corrosive that General Motors won't even use it to make car parts. Almost immediately after the switch, residents noticed changes in the smell, color and taste of the water coming out of their taps; tests showed high levels of bacteria that forced the city to issue boil advisories. Samples show off the chart lead levels in Flint's drinking water. Lead poisoning is incredibly serious. Once lead enters your body, there is no way to get it out. It is especially harmful to the developing brains of children, and can cause permanent brain damage. Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality were aware of the high levels in Flint's drinking water for months and yet they kept telling residents that the water was safe to drink. Food & Water Watch organizer Lynna Kaucheck has been working with the residents of Flint to ensure that their water is safe and affordable and to hold those that are responsible for this man-made public health emergency accountable. More than 27,000 Food & Water Watch supporters helped bring national attention to this issue by signing a petition calling on city and state officials to switch the city's water back to the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department's drinking water system. On October 16, 2015, Flint's drinking water source was finally switched back to Detroit's drinking water. The problem: Flint's pipes are permanently damaged and continue to leach lead into Flint's drinking water. At the beginning of January 2016 the U.S. Department of Justice opened an investigation into how Michigan has handled the crisis in Flint. Then, Governor Rick Snyder finally issued a state of emergency to begin to give Flint residents the help they deserve, but this is too little too late for many of Flint's children. State relief may only provide the city with a small portion of the potentially $1.5 billion it will need to fix its broken water system and give Flint children the healthcare they need. The federal government must step in to help provide support for Flint residents. Stand with the residents of Flint and ask the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to declare a public health emergency to get the city federal aid.

  • Revoke new Uneployment Law
I am a commercial roofer and this law has done severe damage to me and many of my co-workers. I was unable to collect my benefits last winter because I worked too much overtime, making 1 quarter too high. Being punished for working too hard and too much just doesn't seem like a message we should send to people. Like many of the people in the construction field, when I get laid off in the winter, I have serious trouble finding temporary work. Many places don't want to hire someone that they know will be gone in 2-3 months. Also to say things such as " Then get a different job." or " Not our problem." I just have to ask, who will fix your schools, hospitals, and/or offices? Our great state of Pennsylvania is filled with some of the greatest people in out country and it makes me sad to think that we can't band together and worry about helping each other. So please sign and help my friends, co-workers, our families, your follows Pennsylvanians , and me. Thank you for your time and I hope to thank you for your signature.

  • Congress: Defend the Iran Deal
Last September, we secured a major diplomatic victory when Congress voted to uphold the nuclear deal reached by the UK, France, Germany, China, Russia, the US, and Iran. Since then, huge progress has been made in rolling back Iran's nuclear program. Sadly, war hawks in Congress aren't giving up. They have made clear that they will treat the Iran Deal as they have treated the Affordable Care Act: with endless, partisan vote after endless, partisan vote to kill the deal. We must send a strong message to Congress that this behavior is not acceptable. Especially during an election year, we cannot let political interests trump national security.

  • STOP FORECLOSURES IN FLORIDA The grand theft of Homes in the STATE
TO STOP ALL FORECLOSURES IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA, BECAUSE THEY ARE ILLEGAL. The State of Florida has strict foreclosure laws that must be followed exactly or the foreclosure sale is VOID, and strict laws are to protect residents from illegal eviction. Much of the housing crisis is caused by judges who fail to enforce these laws in thousands of individual cases, and by our Attorney General and District Attorneys who fail to prosecute housing crimes. Governor SCOTT and all our lawmakers say they are concerned about our deficient budget, unemployment, homelessness, and the shortage of affordable housing. JUDGES should investigate the paperwork and procedures in any case that follows a foreclosure sale, housing discrimination, or any other questionable activity. Fraudulent, counterfeit, robo-signed documents are NOT LEGAL and must not be allowed to substitute for legal documents. Any VOID foreclosure sale means the buyer CANNOT evict the residents. Yet 49 State Attorneys General received a Settlement of Millions of Dollars for Robo-Signing, yet not 1 Homeowner received compensation, yet our Beloved (NOT) Attorney General Pam Bondi hired more Judges to Foreclose on Homeowners…..But, homeowners are forced out usually by a SWAT team of Law enforcement working for the banks not the public that pays their wages. When speculators realize they cannot evict after a VOID sale, they will stop buying the houses at auction, and lenders who must keep these homes might be more motivated to modify the loans. Right now, the lenders (loan servicers) refuse to modify loans because they get more cash when they sell the house. BOTTOM LINE THESE ARE NOT MORTGAGES, BUT DEBT COLLATORS ILLEGALLY STEALING OUR HOME..AND THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED……FLORIDA..PLEASE SHARE AND SIGN… GOD BLESS US FOR THE JUSTICE WE DESERVE AND OUR HOMES BACK

  • Planned Parenthood: Endorse either both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton or neither.
This is the first time in its 100 year existence that Planned Parenthood has made an endorsement at the primary stage of a presidential race. Though the organization describes Hillary Clinton as one of the strongest supporters of issues of importance to Planned Parenthood the organization did not endorse her in her race for the nomination in 2008. So why now? If Bernie Sanders were weaker on women's or health issues than Barrack Obama had been in 2008 then Planned Parenthood might need to warn voters against Sanders. However, this is not the case. Obama in 2008 had almost no record on issues of importance to Planned Parenthood; by contrast, over a 40 year period Sanders is at least nearly as strong on many of those issues as is Clinton, and on issues of health care for all and getting women out of poverty and away from the health problems that come with poverty Sanders is significantly stronger than Clinton. Regardless, the roles of president and legislator are different, and there is no reason to believe that President Sanders will be any less a friend to Planned Parenthood than would be President Clinton, whatever minor differences there may have been in their previous careers. If Planned Parenthood felt that of the Democrats only Clinton can win in a general election, and preventing a Republican from becoming president is Planned Parenthood's priority then its preference would make sense. However, though polls indicate that Sanders may be struggling against Clinton he is actually the stronger candidate against all Republican front-runners. Endorsing Clinton, then, would appear to be counter to Planned Parenthood's objective of ensuring that there will be a friend in the White House. And it can not go without mention that the daughter of Planned Parenthood's Chair is on the payroll of Hillary Clinton's campaign. Whether this played a role in the endorsement decision is not known, but the appearance is there. And that appearance has contributed to a backlash that has already started against Planned Parenthood. Those of us who support Planned Parenthood do not want to see the organization hurt by continued decrease in donations, or a lessening of public outcry when Planned Parenthood's existence is threatened. Finally, this Petition is not meant to disparage Hillary Clinton or her record. Clinton's record is admirable. But looking at all factors, Clinton did not "win" this endorsement, as Planned Parenthood said. Clinton was gratuitously handed it. Given the closeness of the race, it can not be said that Planned Parenthood is backing the winner; rather, there is the appearance that they are trying to designate one winner from two worthy choices. Planned Parenthood should not be permitted to do this, especially when its motivation is suspect. Therefore, we petition Planned Parenthood to do what the big picture says is appropriate: withdraw its sole endorsement of Hillary Clinton, and either endorse both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, or endorse neither.

  • Congress: Leave Executive Orders on Guns Alone
As a lifelong gun owner, hunter, and also a victim of gun violence, these executive actions are much needed and don't restrict my rights at all. They make me feel better as a gun owner, in that we're helping keep guns from criminals and other dangerous people. I began shooting guns and hunting as early back as I can remember. I was, until several years ago, an NRA member as well. I agree with police chiefs supporting the president's executive actions on background checks and keeping guns from criminals and other dangerous people. These actions are simply modernizations of our existing gun laws. But Republicans in Congress are vowing to use “every tool in the toolkit to stop him,” including legislative maneuvers and suing the White House. Let’s stand together to defend these new executive actions to reduce gun violence.

  • President Obama: Declare the Porter Ranch Gas Leak a National Disaster
I’m Richard Mathews and I live within smelling distance of the fracked natural gas leak that has been spewing methane and toxins into the Los Angeles air since at least October 23, coming from an underground storage area above the suburb of Porter Ranch and holding fracked natural gas imported from other states. The company responsible is Southern California Gas, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy. I live four miles from the site of this toxic disaster—the largest natural gas leak in U.S. history—and can smell the nasty fumes. But it’s even worse for people like my 88-year-old mother, who lives with me and is suffering from headaches and nausea but who feels she is too old to handle relocation. Thousands of families have fled their homes, and many more are still getting sick. Others like my mother are on the waiting list to get air purifiers. The leak isn't expected to be fixed until Halliburton completes drilling a relief well around March. Methane is an extremely potent greenhouse gas contributing to rapid warming—over 80 times more powerful than carbon dioxide. The greenhouse impact of this leak is the equivalent of the pollution from seven million cars or six coal-fired power plants. I’ve calculated that this leak spews more gas, by volume, into the atmosphere than the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster leaked oil into the Gulf of Mexico. That global disaster troubles climate hawks like me. But equally worrisome, methane is highly explosive, and the chemicals mixed with the methane are making people sick. These include methyl mercaptan (the rotten-egg-smell they add to natural gas), benzene, radon, hydrogen sulfide, and a mist of crude oil. While the methane spreads around the world, these toxins stay close to the ground and accumulate in our valley. On January 6, California Gov. Jerry Brown dropped by for an hour and declared it a disaster. Now, President Obama needs to meet with affected residents, understand the havoc wreaked by his pro-fracking policy, and declare the site a national disaster area. President Obama’s national disaster declaration will help residents get tax benefits, mortgage relief, and federal resources to improve health—and help this nation to start fighting back against the out-of-control fracking industry. Please add your name to mine today.

  • STOP FORECLOSURES IN PENNSYLVANIA The grand theft of Homes in the Commonwealth
Yes, I have been a victim of Identity theft and a victim of foreclosure. Wells Fargo, and their Debt collectors Phelan Hallinan and Schmieg in Philadelphia have yet to show me the Wells Fargo wet blue ink note. The wet blue ink note is not filed in the Northampton Recorder of Deeds. Nor can it be found at Fannie Mae, a subpoena for production of wet blue ink note, with a fake address, and my dead husband;s signature submitted to Fannie could not be found. Could it be it does not exist and this is an example of Fraud upon the Court. Wells Fargo has a manual that Attorney Linda Terrilli has submitted to Federal court in NY. Could it be that Phelan Hallinan and Schmieg were using this manual to help people out of their homes in PA and other states. Judith Romano is or was a partner and she is also a VP of MERS and notary at Full Spectrum Legal. In addition, Kim Martin works at Core Logic and Radian Guarranty another enterprise that PHS has stakes in . Connect the dots people your homes may be a evidence of a grand theft scam.

  • Delay of Funding and Approval for Lee Walker Heights Public Housing Redevelopment
The African-American community has been devastated by urban renewal and redevelopment with policy initiatives which further systemic racism, exclusion and policies which have left it in economic, social, and cultural ruin. Many of us have lost our homes and businesses and a sense of place in Asheville as the result of urban renewal. We have nothing left to loose. It is time to stop accepting this condition as hopeless.
