Burning coal to generate electricity is a leading cause of smog, acid rain, and toxic air pollution which includes, among other things, mercury, lead, carbon dioxide and arsenic, which contribute to adverse health conditions suffered by those communities living on the fencelines of these plants. Retiring Bridgeport Harbor Station would improve public health, lower climate disrupting emissions, and provide opportunities for cleaner, more efficient energy alternatives.

I pledge not to vote for any candidate who runs negative ads online, in print, on TV or radio in the 2016 election cycle. I will further not vote for any candidate who does not loudly and repeatedly denounce negative ads run on their behalf by third party groups or individuals on their behalf.

Jeanne Mance founded the Hotel Dieu and was a founder of Montreal. How about honouring her and the founding of Montreal, in a lasting way? The cost to society is 4x as much to have a person on the street, rather than to house them in such a facility.

The sport killing of rare or endangered species is a concern for everyone. It is disgusting that an American with money can pay to kill an endangered animal. There should be laws in the US that do not allow this to ever happen again.

Killing rare and or endangered species is a concern for the people, the wildlife and the environment.

The brutal slaughter of the lion Cecil, a Celebrity tourist attraction of Zimbabwe, was poached by American hunter Walter Palmer, who has been trophy hunting for years. Cecil's carcass would have been shipped to this country legally, had it not been impounded as evidence of criminal activity in Zimbabwe. We as a nation should NO LONGER support the decimation of the world's wildlife for this sick sense of entertainment. We no longer want to support the practices of Cowardly and Arrogant Hunters who pay for the perverted pleasure of killing innocent and defenseless and often endangered wildlife. We need to BAN the importation of the SPOILS of the HUNT NOW!

My petition is about legalizing Medical Cannabis at the federal level for all states. My son, Cameron, has a very rare condition called Rasmussen's encephalitis, also known as chronic focal encephalitis; it is a rare inflammatory neurological disease. This disease is characterized by frequent and severe seizures, loss of motor skills and speech, hemiparesis (paralysis on one side of the body), encephalitis (inflammation of the brain), and dementia. While most if not all seizure meds have severe side effects for his body. a drug from cannabis (CBD), a compound derived from cannabis has been known to treat this syndrome and decrease seizures by 54% if not more in children with this syndrome. There also needs to be a study in conjunction with this treatment for this very rare condition, so kids like my son Cameron can live as close to a normal life as possible with this rare condition.This really needs the world's attention.
