• Sen. Ben Cardin-(Md.): Support Iran Nuclear Deal
On July 15, the President announced a historic deal between the U.S., European nations, China, Russia, and Iran that would curb the Iranian nuclear program, strengthen diplomacy, and dramatically reduce the likelihood of another war in the Middle East. But already, Republicans in Congress are lining up to try and kill this major chance for peace. Democrats in Congress are going to have to stand strong, but Sen. Cardin has, for months, wavered on his support for diplomacy. Sen. Cardin's vote is going to be critical here which is why it's so important that he hear that Americans support a nuclear deal by a 2-1 margin and his constituents want him to support this deal.

  • City Kids Don't Stand a Breathing Chance!
I’m a mother of two children in Yorkville, Manhattan. One of my children is a 14-year-old with special needs who struggles significantly every single day with some of the most basic tasks. His ADHD, anxiety, and autism spectrum characteristics are quite severe and daily physical activity is paramount to his well-being. Exercise and fresh air are vital for him to be able to function and feel good. Mayor de Blasio is building a garbage station in the Yorkville/East Harlem area that would otherwise be illegal if not for a "grandfather" clause. The specific laws about where a city garbage station should go have been "waived" for this location for political reasons. Just recently, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced a 30-day public comment period, regarding the permits for the East 91st Street Marine Transfer Station (MTS), which continues through July 24th, 2015. New Yorkers are begging for an unbiased review of the permits and the changed conditions; one based on facts not politics. All other NYC MTSs are all in primarily industrial areas, not where thousands of people live, work and play. Yorkville and East Harlem's kids deserve a breathable place to live, grow and learn.

  • NH Addiction Services need more funding
As an addict in recovery, I know the hurdles one must overcome to get help. New Hampshire has limited rehabilitation centers that take in low income/uninsured clients; organizations like Tri-CAP in Coos County have just consolidated their offices down to 2 locations, drug overdoses are on the rise, and street level education programs for HepC/AIDS and addictions are getting far and fewer between. New Hampshire receives $1.2 billion PER YEAR to go towards addiction, recovery, and drug treatment. We, the citizens, need to let Gov. Hassan know that we want this money to go to all the right places. Sign this petition so we can have our voices heard!

  • Kid Rock: Take the racist Confederate flag down at your concerts!
The Confederate battle flag, revived by racist terror groups during the civil rights struggles in the 20th century, remains a powerful, negative and deadly symbol for promoting racial terror today. The recent murders of the Emmanuel 9 and this flag's influence on the alleged perpetrator of those murders is a horrific reminder. People who "love" others should renounce the Confederate flag and not associate with it in any manner!

  • Save Our Boys
Using photographs of black males as targets for shooting practices is wrong. It sends a subliminal message that de-sensitizes and de-values the lives of African-American males. In fact, a picture of any human being should never be used, especially for law enforcement training. They should only be allowed to use the silhouette pictures for target practice.

  • Bottle Bill Expansion for All Beverage Containers
States such as California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, New York, and Oregon already include water bottles in there bottle return tax bills and not to mention various states with even more non-carbonated beverages included (BottleBill.org). More than 60 million water bottles end up in landfills and incinerators every single day (Franklin). This doesn't even include sports drinks, juices, or dairy products that also have no bottle return tax on them. If we want to create a sustainable economy, promote environmental responsibility, and protect Michigan for generations, we need to amend the bottle bill to include all beverages, carbonated or not. • Support Massachusetts H.415 Emergency Stock Epinephrine in schools
Many children have their first Food Allergy reaction in the school setting. This medication could be a life-saving measure for those students not having access to the medication otherwise. A Massachusetts Emergency Stock Epinephrine Bill (H.430) was introduced in January 2013 which has undergone several revisions. It is currently re-filed as Bill H.415 and is awaiting a decision from the Healthcare Finance Committee to move forward. Please show your support by signing this petition to request that this Bill moves to the next level in the legislative process and encourage the Governor to sign it into Massachusetts General Law.

  • Anti-LGBT pastors: Take away their 501c3 tax status!
I'm fed up with bias and hate that this country has to deal with when it comes to organized religious leaders refusing to accept the law of the land on same-sex marriage. They are not above the law, and if they are making it a mission to fight the law by lobbying and organizing political figures to back them, then by all means they need to need to lose their 501(c)3 tax exempt status.

  • Support Peace, Not Nukes and War
The Republican leadership and members of Congress, along with some Democrats, want to wreck the Iran Nuclear Agreement. The alternatives are war, death, possible nuclear proliferation, and more money for our industrial war machine, as well as separating ourselves from our allies. We've tried isolation and sanctions. It is now time to be serious about peace. This is an opportunity to demonstrate to our allies and to the Middle East that we stand for peace.

  • Senator Peters: Support the 2015 Iranian Multilateral Nuclear Treaty
After lengthy negotiations, including working closely with both Russia and China, President Obama's Administration is bringing an Iranian Nuclear Limitation Treaty to Congress for ratification. I believe that this is the best possible agreement to be reached on this matter and strongly encourage ratification. Please support this agreement.
