The reason this petition is being started is so that a public-private partnership can begin between the consumers and major pharmaceutical and major chains such as Walmart and CVS to join with us in properly disposing of unused or outdated pharmaceuticals which more commonly get flushed down our toilets or thrown out in our trash and eventually will end up harming our already fragile ecosystem and overall natural environmental habitat for plants, animals, and man. We have started this petition in hopes to counter the petition to repeal the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act of 2011. We the people of the State of Michigan feel that Independence Day is the most important holiday in American history and we would like to see it further celebrated by not only professionals but private individuals. So we ask you please, do NOT repeal the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act of 2011. If anything we would like to see lighter restrictions on the sale, possession and use of ALL fireworks. I live in a neighborhood near Long Island College Hospital. It was the best of the 3 in this area (the other 2 now suffering from overcrowding since its closure). It is literally a matter of life and death as I, and many other residents in the area, get older. And with the necessary health maintenance concerns that come with aging, to lose such a facility as the neighborhood population is exploding could be catastrophic. I do not accept any declarations of a "Done Deal". We can still reverse this situation before it's too late.

The Obama Administration is currently negotiating, in secret, a massive so called free trade agreement called the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). TPP leaks indicate that this agreement will greatly empower Corporations by virtually eliminating consumer, health, safety, labor, privacy and environmental regulations. In essence this will be a global Corporate coup. In order to get this through congress President Obama will be asking Congress to approve fast track legislation.

These city and state officials are really over reaching. So please let's sign this petition and make a difference. When they put a ban on Big Game fishing from shore several people I know were affected including myself. Instead of actually finding a solution to the shark attacks here in NC, (putting up shark proof nets or hiring shark spotters) they just ban all and any type of big game fishing. This is over-reaching and a violation of our rights.

I am tired of Koch Industries influencing academic research and preventing honest learning in Kansas universities as well as universities and colleges across the United States. This includes donations to KU, KSU, FHSU, WSU and Bethel College. In addition to this they are major pollutors and the think tanks they support and have founded are used to undermine democracy in states across the U.S.

Major food companies combined have spent over $100 million on anti-labeling campaigns and their trade association, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, is supporting a new bill in Congress — The DARK Act — that would prevent mandatory FDA labeling. This new industry-friendly bill will keep consumers in the dark. Unless GMO labeling is mandatory, consumers will not get the information they need to make informed choices. Quaker, a brand that prides itself on its honest and healthy image, is not being fully transparent to parents, families and consumers across the country — marketing their products on trust, but supporting anti-labeling efforts at the same time. A Confederate monument sits on display at downtown Orlando’s popular Lake Eola Park, a family-centered public space where inclusiveness is celebrated through many events and amenities. The statue's inscription boasts: "This monument shall stand for years to come as our loving tribute to the Confederate soldier and as a memorial of his heroic courage, his unparalleled devotion, and his unselfish patriotism." We ask, what exactly is it that makes a monument of a Confederate soldier an appropriate symbol of patriotism to the United States of America when the goal of the Confederacy was to secede from the United States? This is NOT patriotism. This monument also represents an overt display of pride in the marginalization of, and violence towards, Black people in the South as the Confederacy fought for secession in order to protect Southern supporters of slavery and its presence is entirely unacceptable in this public park. We must learn from our past, but there are much more appropriate places for that learning to take place, such as a state history museum.

The fireworks terrify my dog and wake my granddaughter up. People shoot them at all hours, some all year long! They celebrate birthdays, parties, etc., nothing to do with the holiday.
