Someone I care about who I have known for years prior to his arrest, Roderick "Rudd" Walker was sentenced to LIFE for LSD Conspiracy in Federal District of Oklahoma in Tulsa based solely on the testimony of others with no physical evidence of any drug. Last week, the Michigan House of Representatives passed the "Religious Freedom Restoration Act" along party lines. It should be titled the "License To Discriminate Act". This act's sole purpose is to allow a person to refuse to serve any person whom they choose if they have a moral objection to that person's lifestyle. The LGBT community is most likely the target of this bill, but it has far reaching implications that even its proponents don't yet realize. By citing religious beliefs, people would be able to legally discriminate against anybody they wanted for any purpose. Christians against Jews, Jews against Muslims, Muslims against Hindus, and so on, and so on. Is this really the type of society we wish to live in? I think not. Liberty and justice for all, regardless of whether or not you share someone else's religious beliefs.

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act states that a provider's " religious reasons" could prevent a person in need from receiving medical help, housing, or a driver's license. This Act is discriminatory and unkind. We the people of Michigan in Bay County who have signed this petition do not support this Act.

In the United States, human trafficking is an increasing problem. Based on the number of Black Males being killed by Officers of the Law without any indictments or prosecution of these Officers. There is an apparent lack of laws to protect this segment of the population as is evident in the recent killings of Michael Brown, Eric Garner and so many others. In a Nation of Laws we need a Federal Law to protect these innocent victims from being killed before even getting to a hearing.

The International Court of Justice is established as the proper Court to hear these kind of issues where a national government cannot and will not hold its own citizens accountable for their crimes. The Senate Report provides graphic and massive evidence of violations of the Geneva Conventions against torture and prisoner abuse, and there is clearly "probable Cause" to believe that high crimes were committed and that the perpetrators are being protected by current and past U.S.administrations who refuse to prosecute those involved.

We only seem to have wars on the poor: Detroit with water, 1/3 of our children live dependent on some kind of assistance for most of their meals, and now drug testing? Let's INVEST in our poor and/or sick, instead of taking away the little they already have. Governor Synder and MI legislature-do not put into law something that not only costs in the long run, not only is an invasion of privacy, but at the end of the day, helps no one-the poor to the elite alike.
