As an Olmsted County Resident I refuse to sit idly by and watch Board waste tax revenue by locking up illnesses such as alcoholism/addiction at the cost of up to 50,000 per year. When it has been proven time and again that those who qualify for the services of a drug court do not get better in jail, but get better with treatment and supportive services which cost far less than incarceration. Olmsted County Community Corrections already work with eligible offenders in a 'Highly Structured,' and monitored treatment option which is held in the detention center. Let us now bring the courts into the mix like Counties all over this nation..

So many children struggle with this disorder and I have personally seen the effects of APD. With APD not being recognized, my daughter can only receive a Section 504 with limited accommodations. That's not enough. She deserves more. She needs more. Unfortunately, she can't get more. Let's stop the insanity! WE demand that a full accounting be made of the costs associated with the Benghazi investigations and that Darrell Issa, a multimillionaire worth over 500 million dollars, immediately return the money to the U.S. treasury. Background: On November 21, 2014 the Republican-led House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) released the findings of a nearly two year investigative report into the attacks on two U.S. facilities in Benghazi. This report, like many before it, debunked myths about the attacks, concluding that there was no intelligence failure prior to the attacks, no stand down order was issued during attacks, and the administration's initial talking points about the attacks were based on the Central Intelligence Agency's assessment at the time, as the administration has long maintained. The Committee also found that there was no intelligence failure prior to the attacks. The GOP, with Congressman Darrell Issa as the main ring-leader, has relentlessly pursued an investigation into the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya. These hearings have been cheered on by right-wing media, and according to a Pentagon commander have reportedly cost taxpayers multiple millions of dollars and wasted thousands of hours in government funded personnel time.

My petition is about immigration reform. Believe it or not, immigration is important for the U.S. as immigrants normally take jobs that most Americans won't do. Immigrants work hard for us and their families; they don't deserve to be deported when they're helping our economy.

We are mothers who have been prevented from getting help for our adult children when they become ill with severe mental illness. We founded Voices of the Mothers to advocate for reform to our mental health laws, and to give voice to the mothers, fathers, family members and all caregivers who are told there is nothing they can do when they try to get assistance for their loved ones. Instead of helping them to recovery with the life-saving medications and treatments that are available, we must watch helplessly as they deteriorate. Our mental health laws and public health systems should mandate treatment before tragedy. Under the guise of protecting civil liberties, these policies leave the most vulnerable to suffer the trauma and indignity of jails, homelessness, and the revolving doors of hospital emergency rooms. We believe that members of our community stricken with debilitating disorders deserve the compassionate help they need to be able to someday choose a path to wellness. We are asking the county to institute AB1421 as a way to restore civil liberties and lives of dignity to those who have had those benefits hijacked by persistent untreated illness.
