• Rename U.S. Constitution Day to Stephen Colbert Day
The general public is sadly unaware that September 17th is officially Constitution Day. Through his humorous "truthiness" and widespread media outreach, Dr. Stephen Colbert is the ideal spokesperson for this historic day. Every signature on this petition helps to bring attention to the Constitution therefore, accomplishing our goal.

  • Bring ECC's STEM Academic Building to the Downtown Campus
By building the educational opportunities of tomorrow in automobile dependent Amherst, NY, Erie Community College is attempting to keep the job and educational opportunities of tomorrow from the transit dependent youth of our community. They are misusing our tax dollars and need to be held accountable to their vision and mission by "providing affordable & accessible educational programs" to all students of Western New York, and not only those that can afford to drive out to get it.

  • Stop the Unnecessary Logging of Our Forest!
HELP SAVE OUR FOREST FROM DESTRUCTION. The Forest Service is logging our local forests with an ill-conceived plan under the name of fire mitigation. This plan will not only destroy wildlife habitat, wreak destruction on scenic beauty, eliminate sound, sight, and wind buffers in neighborhoods, and cause plummeting home values, but will also INCREASE fire risk. While it may open up some views, from a distance, imagine how devastated you would feel to have a forest clearcut right up to your property boundaries. You would no longer see the usual wildlife in your yard, the birds would disappear from your feeders, and that quiet morning walk in the woods would be a thing of the past. One recent clearcut is adjacent to Susan W.'s property -- ask her if you want to know how these cuts have affected the wildlife, birds, and quality of life for her and her neighbors. Please sign our petition to demand a stop to this poorly planned project. Share it with your friends, particularly those in the area (Boulder County, Gilpin County, Denver, and surrounds). Thank you for signing.

  • Benton Township Citizens Support Benton Harbor Library
Benton Charter Township has discontinued its funding assistance to the Benton Harbor Library. As a result of this lost revenue and other factors, the Benton Harbor Library has been forced to make drastic reductions in staffing, hours and acquisitions. WIthout additional funding, the Library will face even more draconian cuts. The Benton Harbor Library is a vital resource to residents -- particularly the youth -- of Benton Township and Benton Harbor. The Township Board needs to recognize the Township's broad support for the Benton Harbor Library, and restore funding.

  • Boycott public range beef
Dear Wildlife advocates, Please! Do not sign this petition unless you can be 100% committed to boycotting all beef unless it is raised on private ranches. In doing so you commit yourself to supporting all wildlife on our public lands. You may Fax your statement in or call 866-BEEF-USA.WASHINGTON, D.C. 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Suite 300 Washington, D.C. 20004 (202) 347-0228 Fax: (202) 638-0607 - See more at: http://www.beefusa.org/ContactUS.aspx#sthash.bML822Ro.dpuf Please send to your contacts as well as organizations. Perhaps this can change their minds. Thank you, Sincerely, Lorna Moffat 831-644-6160 To the National Cattleman' s Beef Association, We , the undersigned , are committed to joining onto this beef boycott in order to support all the wildlife throughout America that is being killed because of the all out attempt to kill, maim, and poison all competitive lifeforms on public lands that threaten livestock, either through competitive grazing or predatorship of livestock. The removal of wild horses from their lawful designated Herd Management Areas, as well as the natural predators that keep their populations under control is no longer acceptable to me as a consumer, and therefore I commit to boycotting all forms of beef except ranchers who keep their herds (and are certified of doing so) within their privately owned properties. As your foundation states below, you are supposed to be committed to Environmental Stewardship. This is clearly not being done, and as a result Americans must use whatever non-violent means to stop the destruction of our wildlife populations now being witnessed from the removal of bison, wild horses, and burros, to every other life form that competes with grazing or livestock encroachments. Your organizations does this through heavy lobbying in the Halls of Congress, reaping favoritism of our representatives which we the public cannot compete with. We commit to the keeping of this boycott until our wild horses and burros are returned to their lawful Herd Management Areas (HMAs) and predators that keep their numbers controlled are allowed to dwell amoung them as is required under The National Environmental Protection Act and The Wild Free Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971. Therefore be it known to all concerned that I sign my name and honor to this petition. I want it to be known that I shall boycott all forms of beef except that stated above until a viable change is made and our wildlife is allowed to return to their rightful places upon our public lands and your commitment to your pledge below is fulfilled. Sincerely, The National Cattlemen Beef Association Mission statement below does not reflect what they are doing on our public lands. The National Cattlemen Beef Association Mission statement. • Terri Lynn Land for Michigan or Koch brothers,
I am tired of just a few billionaires spending so much money to fix an election , its about time the people got involved and picked the right people and the only way for that to happen is public debates. We are starting to look like a third world country when elections can be bought and only the rich decide who is in office.

  • United Airlines- Stop Carriage of Shark Fins
Shark populations are being overfished worldwide. The trade of shark fin in illegal, unregulated and unreported fisheries for the delicacy shark fin soup is causing shark populations to decline critically worldwide. The tons of shark fins transported as cargo into Hong Kong on United Airlines flights is directly leading to the endangerment of shark species and the marine environment in the Americas, Asia and beyond.

  • MoveOn donors are real!
You can't make this stuff up: Secret recordings just surfaced of the Koch brothers' top lawyer talking about MoveOn. He couldn't find our name on a list of groups funded by millionaires—so he protested that the list must be wrong. The Kochs and their friends apparently can't believe you--a MoveOn donor--exist. Their political world is so dominated by billionaires that they literally can't imagine a genuine grassroots organization with millions of average Americas as members, and hundreds of thousands of $5, $50, and $500 donations. If enough MoveOn donors sign this petition, we'll print up a cheeky card to the Koch brothers' organization—signed by the thousands of MoveOn donors around the country who power our work—with the message: "We exist! And we're fighting to take our democracy back."
