For far too long, the Mohegan Tribal Council has denied legitimate heirs their birthright and documented Indian heritage and lineage due to power and greed. The flagship campus of the University of Hawaii system is in decline because its leadership is out of touch with the students, faculty, and staff that are the University of Hawaii. We must reverse this decline by appointing citizens to the BOR leadership with the knowledge and skills necessary to help lead a class I research university forward to the benefit of the state of Hawaii.

WPEA’s bargaining teams have been arguing all summer that classified state employees need a fair COLA along with stable health care costs, but management still doesn’t get it!

Public Health is a safety net program for vulnerable individuals living uninsured and uncovered by the Affordable Care Act. Nearly 50,000 clients may lose their Public Health services beginning January 1, 2015. Most of these cuts will happen in the South County. Public Health services that will be cut or reduced include WIC, family planning, Pediatrics, Maternity Support Services, Nurse Family Partnership, and others. These cuts will decrease and privatize lifesaving services. These cuts will widen health disparities, particularly those along race and class lines in the South End of King County. When Public Health Services close, the whole community will suffer with increased rates of disease and chronic health problems. Stand with Communities 4 Public Health. One county. One health department. One healthy community.

I am a property owner, voter and taxpayer who tries to support local businesses. I see first hand how hard Elaine works and want to support her business. I find it unethical to expect the business to shoulder the City's responsibilities.

As a mother of 4 children with experience as an educator and administrator of charter schools, I am encouraged to help meet the needs of a local community by serving as liaison between a local governing board and the Charter School Advisory Board.
