Shut down WorldStarHipHop.ComIts a unfortunate day and age we live in when sites like worldstarhiphop.com can use young men and women. Mostly Africn American to go out and commit heinous crimes with the hopes of being posted. On any given day amongst the plethora of ignorant music videos, you may also find in the myriad of choice videos posted choices such as "old man gets knocked out", or "man having sex in the parking lot", or more infamously its "fight week" compilation, where you can see a person punching another person into a coma! Literally!!! This site grosses millions of dollars every year and is owned and operated by Lee "Q" Q'Denat. A person who has shown he is totally apathetic to the harm he is causing, and just relishes the often used phrase of "Worldstar" as a person commits another crime to be shared. Help stop this tragedy on the internet!!!40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mirandah lienburg

Pause PARCC in Westford, MAThe Westford Community has not had the chance to thoroughly discuss the new assessment test called PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career) which may, or may not be a replacement for MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System). As a result, we think it's best for Westford to hold off implementing PARCC for the 2014-2015 school year.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Meridith Treible

CEO Macy 's- Mr.Terry J LundgrenI, Helena chin was employed with Stern's/Macy's since 1993. In May 2013, I made a purchase and was given samples as a courtesy. When I checked out with security, I was told it was too many samples. I tried to explain, but security grabbed the stuff and sent me home. I left the building feeling angry, then a few days later I was let go by HR on grounds of violation store policy. I feel this is unjustified, and unfair. I need to be heard. Macy's is like family to me, I love my job . Please Mr. Lundgren, look into this matter as this is giving tremendous stress to me and my family. Thank you.18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Helena Chin

End The Fluoridation of Sioux City's water systemYes, fluoride occurs naturally in some waters and so do other toxics like lead and arsenic. What the dentists didn't tell you is public municipalities are using a synthetic waste version of fluoride, mostly scrubbed from the exhaust stacks of phosphate fertilizer plants. And it's not the pharmaceutical fluoride in toothpaste, which advises you to seek immediate help from a poison control center if you swallow anything larger than a pea size serving. There's a serious reason behind the warning. This is where real science legitimizes our concerns about what this halogen is doing to our teeth and body tissues. The dentists didn't explain that international peer-reviewed studies have confirmed fluoride eventually wears down the enamel of a tooth surface, rather than improving it. In fact, 41 percent of younger Americans now have some type of dental fluorosis, the pitting and discoloring of the teeth from an overexposure of fluoride. And it doesn't stop there. More international teams have found fluoride can negatively affect the thyroid, the brain, the nervous system, and is a proven contributor to bone cancer in young boys. Even the vaunted Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a warning that fluoridated water should not be mixed with baby formula because its fluoride dose is 250 times greater than mother's breast milk. Should a public municipality be in charge of an individual’s oral hygiene? And if fluoridated water is in everything from processed foods to taking a shower, then managing the dosage is absolutely impossible. For the above reasons and a thousand more we move to stop the fluoridation of not only Sioux City but our entire surrounding area immediately. Signed concerned citizens.83 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tony Axtell

End Florida For-Profit Youth PrisonsCorrupt private prison companies have taken over Florida's criminal justice system — making millions by unjustly incarcerating Black and Brown youth in dangerous, exploitative, and inhumane conditions. Private prison companies care about one thing; increasing profit, and they lobby hard to secure state contracts that give them license to harm our communities. Black youth are disproportionately harmed by Florida's private prison racket. Due to continued prejudice in the criminal justice system, Black children are four times more likely than white youth to be committed to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (FDJJ), and the vast majority for non-violent offenses. We have a unique opportunity to stop this exploitative system. Several private prison contracts valued at $120 million will expire soon. Outgoing Secretary Wansley Walters has the power to block the renewal of these contracts and begin the deprivatization of the FDJJ before she retires on June 30th. We need widespread public pressure to make sure she does the right thing, and we can't do it without your support.181 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rashad Robinson

Push Texas to protect Sexual Orientation rights.I was fired two days after revealing my sexual orientation to my employer. The reasons for my termination weren't given to me during the time of my termination and it has lead me to believe that it is due to me admitting my sexual orientation as well as reporting the use of derogatory terms in the work place.66 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mario Williams Jr

It's not just Students! Parent Loans are killing us too!We always told our daughter to worry about her grades, and we would worry about the rest. Well, she did her part, and got into her dream school early decision (NYU). Once her savings were gone, we were forced to take on incredible debt after her dad lost his job, and could not find another. We wanted her to graduate, and she did. We now owe close to $200K, and can't even start paying it back without income. The federal government should give some assistance to the parents who tried to help their kids achieve their dreams at the same time as the economy was bottoming out.52 of 100 SignaturesCreated by New Jersey

FCC: Don't Buy Cable Company Lies!Cable companies like Verizon and Comcast want to create a two-tiered internet for the rich and poor — so much so that they're funding shady front groups with fake consumer activism to create the illusion that Americans don't care about net neutrality!219 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Reopen the Swan River Public AccessUPDATE! The Lake County Commissioner's office has decided to allow the access to be open from Saturday mornings at 7am to around sunset on Sunday evenings. They see this as a temporary solution while they decide about the future of the site- whether that be permanent closure or expansion of the current location. They are also considering some other options, like an additional parking area near the current access. ___________________________________________________________ My husband and I float the Swan many times throughout the Spring and Summer- as many local residents do. We love being able to hook up the raft to go and float this beautiful river that is located so close to our home. We noticed recently that the access has been temporarily closed and are respectfully asking the county to reopen this area for public use. We have always used this area responsibly (parking in defined areas, packing out trash, etc.) and I have personally never seen any bad behavior from other users. Unfortunately, a few incidents have caused some of the private landowners to call for this closure. There are also some safety concerns with the overflow of parking. It is our understanding that the landowners were able to have Bill Barron close and lock the gate. After a call to the commissioner's office, we were told that it would remain closed for the summer until a solution could be found. Because of this closure and the limited areas available for public put in, I am afraid that we will no longer be able to enjoy this section of the river. We hope that a solution can be found- for all parties - but we are asking that they please not take it away indefinitely. For those of you who love the lower Swan as much as we do, and use it responsibly, please sign this petition and either CALL or EMAIL Bill Barron to let him know how you feel!
