• We support VT Gov. Peter Shumlin and hope he will sign H.112, the GMO labeling bill, into law
Vermonters feel passionate about their right to know what's in their food. They made their voices heard through thousands and thousands of emails and phone call to their Senators. Some senators said it's because of boots-on-the-ground and social media outreach that they pushed the bill through. It's proof that organized activism and effective use of social media tools can make a difference. Please encourage Governor Shumlin to sign H.112 into law making Vermont the first state to pass such a law.

  • Do not ban State licensed dispensaries in unincorporated Washington County
We are facing an unincorporated Washington County Ban brought to the commissioners by Washington County Sheriff Pat Garrett. He is targeting our facility in Aloha. Last week the Wa Co planning commission rejected the proposed moratorium with a 6 to 3 vote. This week the Sheriff has emailed thousands and thousands of folks in Washington County to try and gain support. We need your support now for Tuesdays battle against this moratorium. Please do not let the County deny access to Dr recommended medication. This decision is made between a doctor and a patient. Not a Sheriff. 4300 card holders in this County deserve the right to their State approved medication. Thank you in advance for reading and signing our petition.

  • U.S Congress and President Obama: raise top tax rates to 60%
This petition is about empowering the middle class and poor, giving them a voice and making sure our tax system is way more fair than it is now. I want to see this country embrace its people the way it did in the 3 decades after WWII when there was never a top tax rate below 70%. In this period we built the largest middle class in the history of the U.S by investing in all areas of the economy that helped the middle class and poor.

  • Let us vote whether money is speech
The Supreme Court has gutted more than one hundred years of campaign finance laws and given corporations and the rich even more power over our government -- with the outrageous rationale that limiting spending on elections limits speech. If our democratic system of representative government is to survive, these deeply damaging rulings must be overturned. SB 1272 will put a proposition on this November's ballot that will let California voters demand that Congress create a constitutional amendment to do so. Tell the California Senate to pass it now!

  • FREEDOM TO PARTICIPATE IN DEMOCRACY
Hello! The People Party have started the petition based on Federal Election Campaign Act Amendments of 1974 for U.S. Election Assistance Commission , NDI and The Supreme Court Justices for fairness and Assistance to allow The People Party to participate in democracy according to our Constitution. Madeleine K. Albright, Chairman Harriet C. Babbitt, Vice Chair Thomas A. Daschle, Vice Chair Marc B. Nathanson, Vice Chair Patrick J. Griffin, Secretary Kenneth D. Wollack, President Antonin Scalia, Roman Catholic Anthony M. Kennedy, Roman Catholic Clarence Thomas, Roman Catholic Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Jewish Stephen G. Breyer, Jewish John G. Roberts, Roman Catholic Samuel A. Alito, Jr., Roman Catholic Sonia Sotomayor Roman Catholic Elena Kagan Jewish The people party is a political party in the state of CT starting in the city of Bristol in 2003 due to violation of the Patriot Act. In almost every town in the state, people are interested in becoming members. Last week,we emailed and called various cities to help us become a party in each city and the responses we got back clearly stated that we can only stay in Bristol and not go to any other towns. The people party is for the people and by the people, why are all the town clerks not supporting the democratic system. The rules from the secretary of the state states that when a minor party is born, they are allowed to move forward according to their Bylaws and party rules. As we see four minor parties in the state of CT supported by republicans and democrats, mostly family members and close friends running these parties. People party has no influence other than that of the common people. We need your help in this regard. THE PEOPLE PARTY CASE WAS ALSO PROTECTED BY THE FRIST AMENDMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN DEMOCRATIC SYSTEM WAS DENIED. http://www.supremecourt.gov/Search.aspx?FileName=/docketfiles/11-768.htm Sincerely, Mehdi , Human Faith Secretary of the People Party www.humanfealty.com 860.582.2226 860.583.3338

  • Keep textbooks on a state level
HB 921 would drop all state textbook reviewing responsibilities. It would require that counties review and buy their own textbooks. Our public schools are already underfunded and overwhelmed. They do not have the time or the means to select their own textbooks. Not only that, but it would allow ideological ideas to seep into our public school system. Our children wouldn't be on the same page as those in other counties. This would create a great inconsistency across the whole state. HB 921 was approved by the Senate and now goes to the House. We need your voice to tell our local Representatives to vote NO on HB 921!

  • Commissioner Jack Murray: Stop the banning of metal detecting on Massachusetts beaches
Massachusetts coastal beaches have been available for recreational metal detecting for as long as I can remember. Recently I was approached by a DCR Ranger and advised that metal detecting will no longer be allowed on State Beaches and come July 1, 2014 citizens will start being ticketed if found to be metal detecting on a Massachusetts State Beach. I do not see why this form of recreation should be taken away from the citizens that enjoy metal detecting. There are thousands of us that enjoy the hobby and follow strict guidelines and a code of conduct when it comes to metal detecting. We remove any trash that we find on the beaches and we conduct ourselves in a respectable manner. In fact there have been sponsored events conducted by metal detecting vendors on Massachusetts beaches that have been enjoyed by many children and adults of this state. I personally don't know of any incident involving a metal detectorist that would give cause to ban detecting from beaches. As a matter of fact, I only know of metal detectorists helping others by returning lost jewelry and other items that they have found while detecting. We urge you to continue to allow the popular recreational activity of metal detecting on Massachusetts State Beaches.

  • Tell the EPA: Save the Chesapeake Bay from pollution & right-wing attacks!
The beautiful and historic Chesapeake Bay is overrun with pollution -- 98% of its oysters are already gone! Local states & the EPA have agreed to a plan to clean up the Bay, but far-away states like Wyoming are objecting. 21 right-wing attorneys general are citing "state's rights," even though states like Maryland helped create this plan. Tell the EPA to ignore the unfounded attacks & keep working with local residents to save the Bay!

  • Stop the Overuse of Antibiotics on Factory Farms
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every year more than two million people are hospitalized and 23,000 die because they have been infected with antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Despite the serious consequences of the overuse of antibiotics, many large farms give antibiotics to their animals in daily doses when the animals are perfectly healthy. We need to preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics so they can continue saving lives for generations to come.
