• Prevent Senseless Deaths: Repeal Montana's Castle Doctrine
The fatal shooting of high school student Diren Dede has raised an international outcry. Montanans must join in the outrage. Homeowners cannot be given immunity for shooting an alleged intruder. This young man's death demands that we revise state gun laws so that this never happens again.

  • Ban Gas-Powered Leaf Blower Use
This petition is about banning the use of a highly-polluting and largely unnecessary groundskeeping device, gas-powered leaf blowers. It is accountable for all manner of ill health in people, animals & plantlife. I personally know of a groundskeeper who died in 2002 as a result of using this device daily at his job. We are all negatively impacted by this.

  • CLEAN GREEN STATE SCENIC BYWAY
We live in a wonderfully scenic area of the coast of Washington state. Our coastal forests and ocean vistas are unique in the world. To have these obnoxious (or even those less so) signs blocking or interfering with enjoyment of the lovely Washington State Highway 103 is a real shame.

  • Ban Bifenthrin
Bees are essential for pollination; killing a few bugs with Bifenthrin is not.

  • Eliminate Non-Compostable Take Out Containers
It pains me every time I see a plastic container containing perhaps a single item (which is then put into a plastic bag) all of which will end up in our Earth and then eventually back in the food we eat--often after the shortest of transports. Is such waste really necessary??????

  • A value change
Condominium living forces constant strife between Board of Directors, who want easy quick maintenance of grounds, and anyone trying to avoid smelling the fumes, protecting pets, tracking the toxins into the house, and avoiding pesticide run-off into ground water, creeks and rivers when it rains.

  • Stop the exploitation of pit bulls and bait dogs
It is disturbing to me the number of animals used in fighting, dumped, left to die or are killed in our culture. Means there is a murderer in the making. A bad sign of the violence in our society and more to come.

  • Stop the Carp from entering the Great Lakes!
The Great Lakes are in danger of being overtaken by Carp from the United States. This will destroy the existing salmon and trout populations in our Great Lakes. We must take action now!

  • Fundraisers, clean up you contact lists!
I'd like to believe my small donations help make a difference, but it's hard when the same causes spend more than the amount of the donation soliciting (slap to head) another donation. The tally of causes I no longer support GROWS because there is no indication of good stewardship of my contribution.
