Health care should be a right for everyone. Many low income, working Virginians are caught in the gap between Medicaid and affordable health insurance. These Virginia residents deserve to have their health care needs met. Medicaid expansion will allow all Virginians to be covered when they need medical care.

I think it's immoral to prevent Virginia's working poor from receiving the benefits of Medicaid. What Bobby Jindal is doing in LA will come to haunt him as he makes his constituency unable to get these benefits. It is shameful to use political ideology to hurt the uninsured.

I believe that climate change is the greatest challenge that our species has ever faced. California can set an example for the nation, as well as the world, by passing legislation that reduces the sales of ICE vehicles by 20% each decade over the next four decades. The state can promote a solar-based charging station infrastructure, perhaps through a public/private partnership, to support EVs as an alternative mode of transportation. If not in my home state of California, then where?

I work with clients who have no health insurance and cannot afford to get their medical problems dealt with. These people create problems for health care in VA by going to emergency rooms to deal with health problems. This increases the cost of health care for everyone because hospitals pass on the cost to those who have health insurance.

Why would you not want everyone in the state to have healthcare coverage? What is the purpose of poor people not being able to afford healthcare? You have it, don't you? Think about others and not being selfish or the Republican Party agenda.

The Virginia legislature is meeting in a special session to consider the Virginia budget and the expansion of Medicaid eligibility. The cost of the Medicaid expansion will be paid 100% by federal dollars during the first three years, and 90% after that. Our state delegate, Jim LeMunyon, opposes the expansion of Medicaid -- meaning that federal taxes paid by Virginians are going to other states and not ours. Medicaid expansion will enable hard-working poor and lower-middle class Virginians to have access to health care. Please sign this petition to let Mr. LeMunyon know that it just makes common sense to expand Medicaid in Virginia.

Reform Medicaid, don't deny it. I work in Healthcare, I see the suffering of the uninsured and the duplication of services and waste in the current system.

Providing healthcare for the poor and disabled through Medicaid expansion will save Virginia money. It also is the moral thing to do.

Expanding Medicaid access to Virginia's poor and disabled is the right thing to do on so many fronts. It will save lives. It will create jobs. And it will save Virginia taxpayers billions of dollars every year.

I believe that every society needs to make it possible for it's citizens to receive good healthcare!
