We all pay taxes. In exchange for this, the government creates agencies which are designed to serve us and keep us safe. We have seen massive failures by these agencies, and demand that these failures are accounted for, and that responsible parties are replaced with competent individuals who will perform their duties in a fashion that will keep our community safe.

I think we have a right to know what we are eating. I don't want to eat GMO's. I have read GMO's increase acne, allergies and cause bad skin problems. I read GMO allergies are becoming more elevated as no one knows the long term effects of eating all GMO diet.

Just for your information, I was informed that the city of Cedar Rapids and the city council doesn't want me to DJ in the city no more and is trying to shut me down. In the 1990s, my 4-year old son and I were both poisoned by the aerial spraying of pesticides that resulted in my son going into anaphylactic shock . This happened again at his elementary school –a direct result of a pesticide applied while school was in session! Pesticides pose a serious risk to our health, to the Chesapeake Bay and local waterways, and to wildlife – particularly to honeybees. Scientists say that professional pesticide applicators need to make pesticide use information available to researchers. That way, experts will have the data they need to determine if and when pesticides are affecting our health, our waters, and our environment. Our children’s health is too important to leave to chance. We need a pesticide reporting database to help our public health experts know which of the hundreds of pesticides in use they should focus on when assessing pesticide impacts. We can't afford not to know.

Tomas Rivera Elementary School has implemented a new "Safety Policy" restricting parental access to our teachers (limiting interaction to email and authorized meetings only) and prohibiting parents from walking their children to the classroom. Parents are not a safety hazard. Teachers should be available for brief interaction from 7:50 -8:10 am and parents should be able to walk their children to the classroom after signing in through the front office. Schools benefit from parental interaction and children do better when their parents develop a relationship with their teachers.

Too many Idahoans are being hurt by unequal treatment under the law for their sexual orientation and gender identity. On February 3, 44 Idaho citizens were arrested for peacefully protesting 8 years' refusal to protect those who live in fear and despair because legislators will not add these four words to the Idaho Human Rights Act. These words need to be added to make it clear that the rights of Idaho citizens may not be violated any longer.
