• Keep Burke in the Kimmel School
Without Burke our program would fall further and further due to his love for helping students succeed, get internships, and to get permeant jobs after graduation.

  • Attack on Climate Change Deniers!
"A RESOLUTION urging the United States Congress to oppose the assumptions and implementation of the President's climate action plan." Chairman Hedke and his ALEC posse are on a mission to prove their point to deny climate change and protect their fossil fuel industry friends, despite popular Kansas support for renewable energy and climate action. Don't let this committee officially deny climate change. This is another attack by Hedke on our environmental rights. This petition will be emailed to the entire committee the day before the vote on Friday, Feb. 21st.

  • Senate Bill 2566
This bill is a dangerous step toward increased prejudice and potential violence against a small percentage of our citizens. As sponsor, you would be as responsible as the aggressor in a violent confrontation because you are encouraging discrimination in our state. Tennessee does not need more discrimination; we need less! I hope you will consider the potential consequences of such an action and in good conscience, drop your support of Bill 2566.

  • NON-Custodial Parents Should be legally obligated to carry Life and Health Insurance for their ch...
I would like to propose that Non-custodial parents be legally obligated to obtain life insurance policies with the child(ren) as the beneficiary and the face value amounts meet or exceed any arrears and/or current child support through the age of majority (19). In the event that something happens to either parent, the child will still be provided for through the age of majority (19). Additionally, I would like to propose that Non-custodial parents be legally obligated to carry or pay for health insurance policies and premium for child(ren) through the age of majority (19). The Non-Custodial Parent should also pay a portion of co-pays, residuals that are not covered by the insurance and deductibles. If the non-custodial parent cannot afford the premiums, then the custodial parents should be given a chance to afford the premium if they are financially able. That's why I created a petition to The Alabama State House, The Alabama State Senate, and 4 others. Thank you in advance.

  • To be delivered to The Alabama State House, The Alabama State Senate, and Governor Robert Bentley...
In the state of Alabama, a 14 year old child can legally make decisions about their mental and physical health. At that point, the parent's hands are tied. However, the parent is still financially responsible for the child's bills and care. Even when the child gets in trouble at age 14, the parent is still held accountable for the child's actions. That is why the age 14 needs to change to the age of majority (19). Please sign this petition for Alabama's Concerned Parents. Thank you in advance. That's why I created a petition to The Alabama State House, The Alabama State Senate, and Governor Robert Bentley, which says: "Kids at age 14 are just that still kids, so they should not be allowed to make decisions about their mental health or physical health. "

  • Raise Minnesota's Minimum Wage Now!
The Minnesota House recently passed HR 92, a bill that would raise Minnesota’s minimum wage to $9.50. The current minimum wage of $7.25 just isn’t enough for workers to be able to provide for themselves and their families. Send a message to the Minnesota Legislature now and urge lawmakers to pass HR 92 and give a raise to 256,100 Minnesota workers.

  • Sign the petition: Protect bald eagles from the NRA
The NRA has fought to keep poisonous lead ammunition on the shelves -- spreading misinformation and attacking wildlife lovers, scientists, and even zoos. Now the NRA is pushing the SHARE Act — an extremist bill that would strip the EPA of its ability to keep toxic lead ammo and fishing tackle out of the environment. Right now, over 3,000 tons of lead from bullets is being shot into the wild every year -- while another 4,000 tons from fishing tackle are lost in ponds and streams. Birds of prey often ingest these lead fragments -- either when they are left behind on the ground or when feeding on other animals that were killed with lead bullets. It’s time to stand up to the NRA and get the lead out!

  • Protect Ohio Voters
The Ohio General Assembly is considering two bills aimed at making voting more difficult. Together, these two bills, SB 205 and SB 238, would restrict voting times and could delay early voting by absentee ballots. I'm starting this petition because it is not right to suppress voting, make it more inconvenient for voters to get to the polls. It feels like cheating and we don't need more cheats in public office!

  • Federal Action in Response to Unconsitutional Kansas Anti-Gay Segregation Bill
The segregation and discrimination against people of the L/G/B/T/Q community is an atrocious violation of these peoples rights under the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. These types of laws are unconstitutional and cannot be allowed to exist in our country. We demand a response to this unconstitutional law by the federal government of the United States of America.

  • Stop Voter Suppression in Ohio
Voting rights are under attack in Ohio. Again! Three new bills that are about to be voted on in the state House would once again make voting in Ohio harder and could jeopardize the 2014 election. SB 205 would ban county clerks from sending out absentee ballot applications themselves, instead reserving that right only to Secretary of State Jon Husted. SB 238 would shorten early voting and end Ohio's "Golden Week" during which voters can both register to vote and cast an early ballot SB 216 would make it harder to cast provisional ballots Together, these bills could prevent tens of thousands of Ohioan from participating in elections. This attempt at voter suppression is wrong. Fair and free elections are the bedrock of our democracy and these bills, aimed at making participation harder, have no place in Ohio. State legislators should stand up for democracy and vote NO on these three bills.
