Next year Westchester Elementary will open and Decatur's K-3 students will be rezoned. Lenox Place's children risk being removed from the very walkable Oakhurst Elementary and sent to Westchester, which is too far away for our young kids to walk to.

My wife and I are young land owners and environmentalists. We want to be able to manage our own human waste in a responsible and safe way, but Cook County's proposed septic ordinance only allows for commercial composting toilets to be used for this purpose. These toilets are notorious for being ineffective, hard to clean, and taking up too much space. We are simply asking for another alternative.

A family member's abusive partner recently got out of prison because domestic violence is not on the list of violent and serious crimes. The perpetrator had been convicted of "corporeal abuse on a spouse" (domestic violence) under the original Three Strikes law, but that is no longer one of the forty crimes listed as serious or violent. Because domestic violence is not on the list of violent and serious crimes in the new law, he was released early, causing further threat and trauma to the family.

This new dress code is not only more expensive for the parents but we believe it will not do anything for their grades or bullying. Our children are now being policed for their clothes instead of weapons, drugs, etc..Children who never have been in trouble are now being sent to the office to be reprimanded. Let our children worry about getting good grades not getting in trouble for their clothes.

I take health issues very serious and this will help people make their own choice about what the eat and feed their family.

I am tired of the Congress, specifically the Republican-Tea Party of trying to destroy this country. Government is compromise and their attitude is take no prisoners. They have consistently tried to stop or defund Obama care in stead of doing the business that they were to do, work together for the better of the people. By trying to defund Obama care with the extension of the debt ceiling to run the government it in turns harms our service personnel and the folks that need the services that the government provides. Yet ironically they cut 35 billion for food stamps. It is time to stop this send a strong message that we are tired of this.

He is a power hungry man who is abusing his vice principle "power" and making students life miserable. He hasnt helped any students like he should be. Thats why he needs to be removed.

Manhattan Wetlands and Wildlife Association, is a grass roots community based organization operating in Northern Manhattan. MWAWA was established in 2010 to clean, restore and protect area rivers and it's wetlands, rehabilitate wildlife, and educate on environmental issues, with out tax payers funds. Is Indian Point Nuclear Power Generation Facility actually safe? Can that be proven? If not, should it be made safe before continuing to operate? If it can not, should elected officials do the right thing, shut it down? MWAWA has started the petition to ensure the people's voice is heard. Not special interest groups. Indian Point only provides 4% of area electricity, which can be made up simply though energy efficiency. So the nuclear power plant is not even needed. By signing this petition you as well give the elected officials the political cover to close the plant if it is not safe. Please this petition now to say that you the public want our elected officials to ensure we are ALL safe. This is very reasonable.

The paving of this road has been debated for decades and meantime the roadbed has degraded further compromising the health and safety of the County's residents. Without continued and repeated additions of road materials and grading, this section of road does not support many passenger cars. Most emergency vehicles cannot traverse the roadway. Many people residing in the County permitted subdivision and private properties, which hold the same value in terms of property taxes as nearby areas with paved roads, simply request equitable treatment. They wish to receive the same access to emergency services as other communities in Puna, while still protecting this historically and culturally significant area of the island.

US citizens deserve to have organic labels on food to be accurate and truthful. The USDA has, without public input or debate, allowed the regulations for this labeling to be extended to include synthetic products indefinitely. This is wrong.
