• Tell the Richmond City Council: Don't bow to Wall Street intimidation
Richmond, California has Wall Street terrified. The City is planning to help some of the 46% of city homeowners currently underwater by offering to buy distressed loans from the Wall Street bankers who own them, then reset the mortgages to current market value. If the banks refuse, the City will consider using eminent domain to acquire the loans, still paying fair market value to the banks. This historic action is called Local Principal Reduction, and if it works in Richmond, it could help stop the housing crisis around the country. On August 7, Wells Fargo and Deutsche Bank filed a baseless lawsuit and began a campaign of intimidation to scare Richmond out of standing up for homeowners. Tell the Richmond City Council to keep moving forward with the Richmond CARES program and not bow to Wall Street intimidation.

  • Mr. Bryan Tyman needs to be a registered sex offender for life and serve prison time for his pred...
My daughter along with 3 other victims have been the target of a "sexual crime" & "sexting" case with one of their previous teachers. The teacher is married to an attorney and this we believe has made this man able to "cut through" the system in a manner that is un ethical. He may serve no prison time for having sex with a 15 year old as well as praying on the lives of the other girls.

  • Stand with Richmond as it stands up to Wall Street
The small city of Richmond, California has Wall Street terrified. On August 7, Wells Fargo and Deutsche Bank, with the support of a Wall Street lobbying group, sued the City of Richmond to stop them from implementing Local Principal Reduction and eminent domain. Please stand with Richmond and demand that the CEOs of Wells Fargo and Deutsche Bank drop their lawsuit and sell the homes to the City.

  • Delta Employee Profit Sharing Reinstatement Petition
On March 20, 2007, Delta announced a new comprehensive compensation package for employees that would take effect shortly after our emergence from bankruptcy in May 2007. One component of the new package was a profit sharing program. The announcement read: “Delta’s profit-sharing plan will pay out at least 15% of Delta’s annual pre-tax profit.” As of January 01, 2013, Delta reduced our profit sharing pool to 10% of annual pre-tax profit, and is no longer honoring the commitment made to Delta employees for the vigilant efforts and repeated sacrifices we made starting in 2002 and ending with our emergence from bankruptcy in 2007. It has been repeatedly stated by Delta executive leadership that the reason for the one-third profit sharing pool reduction was “it was what you said you wanted in the 2012 Delta Employee Survey.” While the full survey results are not available for employees to view (as is a common business practice), a summary was released, which includes no mention of any desire by employees to have our profit sharing pool reduced. In fact, there is no mention of the employee profit sharing program anywhere in the summary. One of the five core values of Richard's "Rules of the Road" is "Always keep your deals - Integrity." Delta as an organization is not following its own "Rules of the Road" set forth by our CEO in 2007 and updated as recently as February 2013. We employees have made countless sacrifices and worked vigilantly for years to return Delta to profitability. We’re not asking for anything extra or new. We’re only asking that Delta keep its deal with its employees and reinstate the profit sharing pool to 15% of Delta’s annual pre-tax profit. For this petition to be successful, we will need broad support across all Delta employee workgroups, and we are counting on you to share this petition with as many colleagues as possible via email, text and facebook for maximum visibility. Flight attendants, pilots, reservations & gate agents, ramp, maintenance & administrative personnel are all affected by this decision to reduce the profit sharing pool. This petition is a vehicle for you to personally tell Delta executive leadership what you want, as opposed to having them tell you what you want. Thank you for your support.

  • Unrealistic housing income guidelines for the disabled.
In 2010,I was ruled disabled by the Social Security Administration and am collecting Social Security Disability. On January 3, 2012, I was placed into the NYC shelter system because of my lack of housing. Since this time I have applied for numerous apartments. The response is always that do not have enough income to meet the minimum income guideline requirements., although, I have been told that I receive a substantial amount for disability. Because of this hindrance, I have been in the Shelter System for almost 2 years with no way out. I feel as though I am a prisoner doing time for a crime that I did not commit. I hope that by changing this law, it will afford people with disabilities and limited income a chance for decent affordable housing.

  • Tell OSHA to inspect Texas chemical plants that kicked out inspectors
It has been five months since a fertilizer plant exploded in West, Texas—killing 14 people and injuring 200. The plant stored explosive ammonium nitrate—but had no alarms, no automatic shutoff system, no firewall and no sprinkler system. And it was across the street from a school. But when Texas fire inspectors attempted to step up its enforcement, five chemical plants simply denied them access. And nothing under Texas law mandates that they allow such inspections. If Texas can’t protect its residents, the federal government must. Sign our petition to OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration) demanding that they inspect the five chemical plants who have denied access to the Texas fire inspectors.

  • Summertown High School / Lawrence County TN Schools
My children come home extremely hungry from school every day with the change in the school meals. Along with the school menu changes, our principal is no longer along children to bring in snacks. If they bring in snacks or drinks they will be confiscated. (All snack machines on campus are off limits and on timers during school hours.) I wanted to see this changed to allow them to bring in healthy snacks to have in between classes, or during breaks in classes.

  • We can stop private prisons
Private prison companies make billions from torture and confinement. We can stop this by holding prison companies' investors, board members, and public officials accountable. Please join us in urging investors and board members of for-profit prison companies to get out of this exploitative business. We'll inform them of what they're involved in, and if they refuse to do what's right, we'll hold them publicly accountable.
