  • Charge a fee for plastic bags - Littleton
25% of the world's population now lives in areas with bans or fees on plastic bags. We do not live in such a place at this moment. Sadly, Plastic bags aren't biodegrade, they photodegrade - breaking down into smaller and smaller toxic bits contaminating soil and waterways and entering the food web when animals accidentally ingest them. A plastic bag can take between 400 to 1,000 years to break down in the environment. Plastic bags cause over 100,000 sea turtle and other marine animal deaths every year when animals mistake them for food. Plastic bags are among the 12 items of debris most often found in coastal cleanups, according to the nonprofit Center for Marine Conservation. Nearly 90% of the debris in our oceans is plastic.

  • RECALL TED CRUZ, IMMEDIATELY!
Cruz is a McCarthy look-alike, a grandstander, a buffoon—even more dangerous than McCarthy—to America, and Americans—and even if a Recall Petition failed—it sends a message.

  • Tell Home Depot and Lowe’s to stop selling bee-killing pesticides
Bees are essential for one out of three bites of food we eat. But last winter, beekeepers reported losses of 50-70 percent of their hives -- the worst year yet since the global bee die-off began! A growing body of scientific evidence is pointing to neonicotinoids (neonics) as the key factor in this crisis and the European Union has just imposed a two year ban on these toxic pesticides. These neonics are everywhere -- in commercial agriculture, on the shelf of your local garden stores, and in the plants and seeds we buy from nurseries. Bee part of the solution! Tell Home Depot, Lowe’s and others to stop selling neonics.

  • Put the Humanity Back into Immigration Reform
The Immigration system in this country is a mess. In Florida, we've seen forced slave labor camps, people separated from their families because they are forced to leave their homes seeking living wages, only to find terrible working conditions, low-wage servitude, sub-human living conditions, human trafficking, and mistreatment by abusive employers. What we don't need in this country is a designated third-class population that by all standards, has no legal protections and are freely exploited by thoughtless employers. We need a compassionate, family-based immigration plan that encourages undocumented workers to come out of the shadows and allows them to work legally, and with full rights of American citizens. We believe DREAMers, who came to this country as minor children should be processed into the system quickly because this is the only country they know. 21st century immigrants, just like our immigrant parents and grandparents, have come to this country to escape conditions that have made it impossible to support their families. Imposed free trade agreements and other violent political environments have created conditions in other countries that have forced people who otherwise would be gainfully employed in their countries of origin, to risk life and limb coming to a country where they might be able to work hard, contribute to the fiber of this country, and hopefully, earn a living while elevating economic and social possibilities for their children and grandchildren. Its time we stop being border hypocrites and vote for comprehensive immigration reform. We heartily disagree with the provision in the current bill that border militarization and drones will be increased by an additional $3 billion- on top of the $11 billion already spent on border enforcement in 2012 by the Obama administration. We feel this amount of money for border patrol and prisons, spent on a branch of security that spends more than all other law enforcement agencies combined is ridiculous, and a waste of taxpayer money and has very little accountability. We further disagree that there should be some kind of arbitrary quantitative border security attained before the over 11 million will be eligible to apply for citizenship. We also believe border communities should have citizen commissions, local police, faith and other local groups set up to advise the border patrol, ensuring accountability, which is so lacking in border communities today.

  • from poverty to possibility
People in the United States should have an opportunity to pursue the American Dream. Without a more even distribution of wealth, this is impossible, especially when we consider the fact that the average CEO earns 275 times the average employee in that company. Financial and social ascension begins with the people, it will assist with ending poverty and most importantly, provide a better starting point for every American to manifest their destiny.

  • Legalize Raw Dairy
Except for raw milk, the regulation of the sale of which has been left for each state to decide on its own, all other raw dairy products are either illegal to sell or highly regulated. Cheese made with raw dairy must be aged at least 60 days. This means it is against federal law for me to buy or sell raw milk mozzarella or yogurt, or to even serve these items in a restaurant. As someone who feels very strongly about the benefits of dairy, and is a strong proponent of its consumption, and as someone who feels even more strongly about the need for dairy to be consumed raw and unadulterated, I feel my civil liberties are being infringed upon not only because the sale of the dairy products I wish to purchase is illegal, and I am therefore obligated to make my own, but, more importantly, because I am unable to start a business that will share and make more available this entire group of incredibly nutritious, delicious and wholesome food.

  • Dental Care for Persons on Medicare
People on Medicare do not have dental care unless they can afford to purchase a supplemental insurance plan. A lot of us cannot. I personally do not see a dentist until I am in pain with a tooth and am at a point to have it pulled. I am getting to a point where I will have no teeth in my mouth. We need help.
